Central Square in Bedford

I met a friend for a drink. The staff did not inform me that there was a time limit in the car park of 1 hour, as a result I received a parking charge. Costa were not bothered and were unhelpful. Will never use this shop again, and will use cafe Nero or similar instead of Costa from now on if that's the value they place on customers

Mi marido acaba de traer a casa una porción de patatas fritas y salchichas rebozadas de este restaurante. ¡Solo puedo describir esta comida como absolutamente de rango! Las patatas fritas sabían como si hubieran sido cocinadas en aceite viejo húmedo y gomoso de hecho lo hicieron incluso sabían a patatas fritas. Las salchichas rebozadas bien que simplemente no sabían a nada la salchicha era difícil junto con la masa que ni siquiera se parecía a la masa. 80 gastados en comida asquerosa no comestible. Desafortunadamente tuve que dar una estrella que no merece, pero de lo contrario no pude publicar esto.

Had a ACE Christmas here, the staff were wonderful and looked after you really well. The manager was very professional and made sure nothing went wrong at Christmas Dinner. She also sorts problems out very quickly. Very professional. The rooms are brilliant with a lovely roll top bath in there, and you sleep like a log to because it's very quiet and peaceful at night.

Having eaten here a couple of times before, came for their NYE dinner. Overall experience was ok but they'd clearly either over booked or were understaffed. Waited 15 mins after seating before anyone spoke to us to take an order, and similar for the tables around us. Same story at the end of the meal when it took half an hour to get the bill. Quality of the food was pretty good when it came, particularly the starters, but did expect a bit more wow factor given the price. And more than a little surprised to be charged extra for a sauce to go with the steak when paying £80 per head.. yes that did include half a bottle of wine but still.. I'd definitely eat here again, but would think twice before going back on a special menu night.

We always say with this place, its hit and miss. It was miss again this time. Here's what I don't understand. Portions: Some are huge - chicken, some are tiny, almost starters ie fish. All are served with a tiny egg cup of rocket, and on this occasion no vegetables were available! Steak was overcooked. Puddings, tiny! Wait - long! had to remind about drinks. Pie and Mash, well it was pie with a spoon of mash. Such small things to get right. Snappier drinks service, equal portion sizes, and better portions of potatoes and veg. Oh and the crispy potatoes, werent as they were covered in soy sauce. Also the constant use of the word by some staff of "darling" and "my lovelies" is not ingratiating its irritating.
