Same people handling money and food without washing hand. I really don't know why they putting there hands in side the bags and food containers. All foods were open in front of the cash point. Worker's don't wear face mask and the food is open while they talking with customers. I hope the owner will consider this hygiene issue. It's very disappointing to see the management didn't do anything even they said that they have a strict hygiene policy. It's very important to follow the food hygiene policy to continue their business. Their is a long hair inside vadai. Made me sick 🤢

I had ordered through phone, they had said to come for collection in 20 minutes. I went around 25 minutes food was still not done, waited extra 15 minutes for a takeaway parcel. Order was not too big a briyani samosa and veg rolls.

Lovely staff. Food is incredible. Great price and portions. Dahl and mutton curry to die for. The only takeaway I go to.

I don’t understand why it says delivery option online when you don’t provide delivery, I called up to ask about the services and the staff was soo rude on the phone, said very rudely “come only for collection we don’t do delivery “ very unfriendly and not the same as mentioned online.

I live so far away. At the edge of south London. And I make a weekly pilgrimage to this place, every single week. The price the value the people the food - it’s all insanely amazing! 12/10 get down there now and support an awesome talented hard working family! Same meal of this quality freshness and healthy would be 5x the price, easy, anywhere else, IF you could find it.

They are very rude and they have no respect to the customers. When the customers queue up in the restaurant they not attend the customers also whenever order food not giving spoons and serviette. Only can get better service when the owner in the restaurant. He’s only person who appreciates the customers in the restaurant.

Please tell your staff when they sneeze to wash their hands. Also mutton kotthu is so rubbish. Selvam needs to up his game because he isn't that guy no more. Very poor I use to come here often but not anymore this place doesn't feel the same.

Had their vadais and their coconut milk hoppers this morning. Was nice Their 50 string hoppers with sambal and sothi is also good Fish cutlets are great

Hi, I bought a thali meals today at ceylon express first time, the taste was really good when compared to other thali I had before in some other places. They had good variety of sides not usually like other restaurants thali. Also appam is also good 👍

Tasty food Good customer service

I had lamprais today and also had during last Christmas 2022. There was a vast difference in the quality and quantity. When I had during last time, the curries were good in quantity. Even I recommended to some of my friends. But when I had today, the curries were less. Also they have increased the price, I agree for that. Because all the ingredients have gone up. I don't mind in paying high but the quality should be maintained. I don't understand why most of the restaurants are doing good in the beginning. But when they get the customers, they go down in their quality.

The decor isn’t anything special but the food is delicious and cheap. I recommend the mutton Kothu and Egg Appam. Yum.

actualy i have bought food from this place ago. but this time it’s totally disappointed with their “mutton kothu” which they made the way! there was no mutton pieces . they sliced a small chunk bit into couple of tiny square pieces and added them with spicy :d. although i ordered for my daughter paneer fried rice ! but after bringing home and saw they have made paneer biryani for us! they gave heart attack :(. it was such a spicy! small kid cant eat that. really disappointed with this time! at the beginning they done well but now i feel something went wrong with this place with the increase of their prices as well! customers always staying with you if you provide food for the worth of their paying only. Hope you guys understand this and give good service to people

The best biryani in England, that's for sure! We are always served by a friendly staff , the price is just right (not overpriced like in other places) and that is why we don't order in the area we live. It takes us approx 20min to get there for the collection but is well worth the effort. Highly recommended! Simply 10/10 👍

Very disappointed with our food we ordered yesterday. We had ordered 2 chicken briyani which clearly had been made awhile ago and was not at all warm or cooked freshed. We had assumed it was made fresh but once we got into the car it was extremely cold! Not pleasant at all. The mutton rolls however were fresh. The vadai was VERY OILY. TOO OILY intact. Was given red chutney instead of Green for the vadai which was first! Overall very disappointed and had High and we was let down. Don't know if we will be returning. Service is nice and staff are always smiling.

The new(ish) top dog in town for your Tamil food fix. Mutton rolls and veg rolls par excellence - possibly the best at the moment, having heard blind test comments from certain North London natives 😏 Great nethali pittu, kothu’s and thali’s as well. Only shame is that it’s not a sit-down restaurant - more what you call a canteen-kadai - but a very clean one at that! Also, shorteats fried fresh to order means the perfect crunch, texture, taste and warmth every time. Last but not least, the family team (you can hear the endearing shouts of ‘amma’ and ‘appa’ in the back) are always chatty, friendly and accommodating. Love it 🙌 hope more can emulate, and hope we see a restaurant-proper from them soon!

Not dine in as mentioned previously. Food made fresh on site, waited 20m next time will call beforehand. We had mutton rolls (they have an offer on) small potatoe curry & hopper kothu. It was all delicious & spicy, well worth the £11 bill!. Definitely 11/10!. Would go again & recommended. Next time looking forward to the famous fish cutlets, thank you!

Best srilankan takeaway in Tooting station.

Delicious food as always, my order was packed and ready to go. My favourite was the crab curry, lovely thick flavoursome sauce, tasted just like home made.

Tasty home made standard Tamil food

A great recent addition to the area. Huge range of Sri Lankan food and very warm reception. Even when we are cooking at home we often come in to get some delicious fresh baked breads and side-dishes!

It's incredible how fresh ingredients can make all the difference. A couple months ago Ceylon Express was launched, taking over the premises of the closed orangey pink "New Shanghai" Chinese takeaway that was between Lidl and Tesco Express, opposite the overland Tooting train station. It is not easy to find a restaurant where chefs are not tempted to cut corners - I'm sure they are under pressure to do so by the high rents. Reassuringly clean, Ceylon Express is a small low maintenance takeaway (no seating) and it feels that this has allowed them to focus their resources on making great food. For example, if I compare their mutton rolls and fish cutlets to Jaffna House's, you will find the mutton rolls (3 for £2) are not filled out with potato and don't taste like they were made a month ago and frozen. They taste freshly made throughout. And, shock horror, the fish cutlets (3 for £1) actually taste like fish with a kaleidoscope of herbs and spices, not stale dry fungus. It's incredible how fresh ingredients can really make all the difference and I hope this place will bring some much needed competition to the area! Having said that, I try to visit on a busy night so there is less chance I get served yesterday's leftovers.

Amazing curries! We love it here. We love the spicy lamb curry alongside the bean curry - delicious and highly recommended!

Tried their Mutton Briyani when they had the store opening a couple of weeks ago. Really tasty! And I regularly get myself some freshly fried Mutton Rolls! Great people, very friendly and accommodating!
