5 years ago - 2 star rating- It's a small restaurant, looks run down, holes in the floor, poorly staffed, nothing great about the food, taste was not bad hence two stars. Haven't been to the restroom hence can't comment on it's cleanliness. In winter, my legs were freezing, ineffective central heating perhaps. No dedicated parking space, the place needs complete renovation. I won't be surprised if it shuts down soon. Now 2024- renovated, better ambience, food is generally excellent in taste especially biryani’s. Overall rating upgraded to 4 star.

Very bad service staff don’t even what to know what the customer wants before that the want us to move here and there. Please employee someone who knows to smile we left the restaurant without even ordering.

Got acid reflex after eating here. To save cost, looks like they are using low quality cooking oil and not recycling the oil frequently. But the service was good and staff are welcoming. They only accept cash, no card payments.

Worst place to have a food, very unfriendly staff, food was not fresh, when I asked the staff to replace they said its fresh and other customers have not complained. I wonder why there kitchen does not have any window and customer can see directly inside the kitchen?? All takeaways and restaurents have open kitchen. Also chennai dosa dudley Road ask for cash so no trace that you have eaten the food there.

I want to give them 0 stars, but there are no options, they don't care about the customer, we wait to serve but they are so busy for nothing, we wait so long and come back without eating any food. Not even once it's happened twice, their behaviour and service are pathetic. We will never visit that place again. Don't recommend it at All.

I placed telephone order with them Specifically I told them we need two separate orders The person who took my order he even confirmed that there are two separate orders. Still they pack my food together in one It had to go to two houses separately. I am car I have no option to separate them but to end up giving this order to my sisters house. Even after paying for two orders We got one.

It is the best tamilian food I had in my life . Even from India I didn’t have this good Tamil food . Tasty prawns thali, biriyani, masala dosa , vada etc . Wow

I've been ordering from this place for years now i ordered a masala dosa and meda vada as a takeaway, placed order over the phone customer service was amazing! the packaging had been upgraded which is amazing the food was banging!!! Dosa was a little soggy by the time I got home but the flavour was amazing definitely recommend this place if you want authentic South Indian food!!!

Ordered well before hand for takeout on bucket chicken biriyani, showed up at the store and they told me they don't have any chicken biriyani and they shouldn't have taken my order. No sign of customer service, did not even offer to substitute with other options or offer discount. Never again buying from here, huge lack of customer service, management and reliability here.

A very good place for food, just the music was very loud, and they didn't lower it when requested, and then forgot a part of our order.

As soon as we Went in the server was telling us that they only have basic food, asked us to sit by the entrance and we couldn't choose where to sit, this place is cold and the staff aren't trained to welcome customers. Would not recommend.. THIS ISN'T INDIA!!! learn to respect customers, we pay for our food!!!

A good restaurant for South Asian food. My table was taken care of by Fazil and there was sweet girl (I forgot to ask her name) who recommended the chicken dosa (not sure of the exact name), but it was delicious. In terms of pricing, the food offers good value for money. Also, Bala, Fazil, Praveen and Ritish are definitely an asset to the restaurant. The service here was pretty poor, and the food portions were smaller than expected. If you're after quick and good quality food, I wouldn’t recommend this place. They really need to improve their service to live up to the brand.

I do not like the taste. Be honest, unattended staff working in Bar and serving the food as well and cash payment

The food was so good, but the service was poor, I think students are doing part time job as waiters they need extra training to handle customers to provide good and quick service.

We came today. We are regular, about 12-30. Nobody came to take order after 15 minutes had to ask waiters, when they did come. Took order. No smile,no apology 😒 food came after 20 minutes.its good job we ordered starter. Very slow service. As I was sitting face the big widown. Sun was in my eyes,face. Plus other table. Asked waiter if they could pull there canopy outside. He refused. Said can't be done. ?? Surely you don't expect customer blinded by that. Sorry 😞 plz look into employing more staff. Train them customer service. I work in that. Field. Thanks.

Service is very bad, food quantity is very less and not worth the money.

Hii, this’s my honest review after visiting 3times. Whenever i need anything i have to call them 4,5times. People who’s at counter today he is literally speaking to co-workers & not even responding, this is unacceptable behaviour & the taste was very low. Even though the rating was going down everytime these people never changed their opinion to serve best to the customers. Note- this is not a review of busy day.

Very tasty food and great service

It's not bad, but I wouldn't say brilliant. Foods pretty standard. For south Indian. In comparison to lot of other south Indians I've been to I can't rank this any higher. Doesn't have wow factor. Place looks pretty basic. Staff are a bit slow and have to be reminded to bring stuff. Would go again, but not rushed to go go back. Went here again for a quick dosa thinking it'll have improved...but a bit of a lack luster.

Pleased with our visit, our waiter was especially great and really friendly. Food was good although I've had better before - the medhu vada could do with some improvement, did not feel fresh and was very dense. All the dosas we had were nice, although the mutton gravy with the mutton chettinad dosa was extremely salty so could not eat it. Portion sizes of the sambal/chutneys are a little bit small, but they offer refills so it's okay. Service altogether could do with a little improvement as one person had their food come much later than the rest, and waiter only checked in on us at the end of the meal. Overall a good experience, would definitely visit again.

We have stepped in on a busy Saturday evening and was offered a table which hasn’t got the basics, like cutlery, paper napkins, tap water and the salt-pepper. We were quite understanding about the busy evening and didn’t mind. The hospitality was not to the point. We had to literally ask for every single basics mentioned above yet took a good 5 minutes time to get them to the table, which is not appreciated. I would advise the management to focus on their field team and make sure it is more welcoming and professional. Food was okay but again not met our expectations. Ambience was a bit noisy and not organised.

Don't fall for the South Indian Food Crap and go to chennai Dosa. The arrogance and Hostile staff are not worth the food or it's ordinary taste. There are better options with good service in Birmingham

The order takes about one hour. The food once ordered will take another one hour.. so if you are ready to wait by all means but if you are going with kids and family I would say no

Seating arrangement was not comfortable due to cramped leg space. Staff body language appeared to be rude. I had with me, my guest from India and they were extremely unhappy due to arrogant behavior of our staff . Though Sambar & Chutney were good but quantity was very less and when we asked for extra sambar & chutney , we were informed that it would be chargeable. Overall not a great dining experience.

This place is great! atmosphere is chill and cool. Top notch food. The staff was helpful, even though there will be room for improvent on service side. Great place to hangout at an affordable price. The restaurant accept CASH only. There is a cash point nearby but be prepared. Restaurant timing also varied based on the day of the week. Saturday and Sunday they open early at 10 am, other days only at 12pm.

I had a great experience at Chennai Dosa, thanks to Charmie’s excellent service. She welcomed us with a warm smile and made sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious—especially the chicken dosa and mutton biryani, with the mutton being incredibly tender and the biryani full of flavor. The chicken noodles had an authentic street food vibe. While the chicken 65 and rasmalai were average, the overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious and the way of service was good.

Bathurah was excellent, a perfect 10/10. I tried two different dosas—coriander and onion—and both were delicious. The paneer chilli was also quite good. However, the service was extremely slow, and it took an hour to receive the complete order.
