Cherie's Cafe in Tendring

untidy cafe,no customers. eatable, not good, overpriced cafe owner always sitting outside,leaves to young men to run.

First visit, never good I guess to find a breakfast venue empty bar 1 at 9.00am. Cold reheated sausage and hard fried egg persuaded me to leave without eating.. place needs a total refurbishment too.. Sad

Visited here for breakfast whilst attending the Clacton Airshow. I had the large Full English Breakfast for a little over £10, and it didn’t disappoint. Bacon, sausage, frankfurter, burger, black pudding, hash browns, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, fried bread, eggs, toast and a mug of coffee. All cooked fresh to order by the owner. Will definitely return when next in Clacton.

The staff was polite the food was nice and hot very big portions the place is very small and looks like it needs abit off work doing as some tables were out of use and one table was abit messy with the staff bits on there

Would not return or recommend. The bubble was sloppy, fried bread soaked in grease and soggy and the egg was not cooked - all slimey. Very overpriced for dreadful food.

The breakfast platter just came as ordinary for two people in one plates.Not very friendly.Thetes element of racism from two blokes working in the kitchen commenting loudly that me and my husband are black and white and they laughing.they need to be sack as in restaurants business , customer are from different race and background.Especially clacton on sea is a tourist resort.Will never ever come back there. They should be reported.

Nice fresh breakfast, cooked to order . The instant coffee let it down, but the price and quality of the food / cooking made up for it .

I arrived at this family cafe with my daughter and fiancé. The people in there were so welcoming and friendly. The order was quick and the food was perfection! Top chef and his staff were amazing. It was a run by family members, the kids were on the sofa playing and it made my daughter feel at ease as she is usually really shy. Thankyou so much for your service

Our friends recommended this restaurant. We had a roast dinner and a liver and bacon meal on which he kindly substituted extra veg instead of potatoes. We chose the pensioner size meals @ £5.50 each which included tea/coffee and were great value. Spotlessly clean. Had a bit of difficulty finding it using Google map, which showed it near the Travelodge but it is nearly opposite the entrance to the covered market

Do you want good english food, well this is one of my choices in Clacton. Had a lovely Full English there and a lovely dinner at lunchtime. Nice to find somewhere that sell reasonably priced lovely meals.

We went their on the 29 the of April 2018 on a Sunday. I had a 3 course meal . I ordered prawn cocktail it was ok and good amount thanks. I ordered roast pork it did not look right i brought it back to the owner and i changed it for roast chicken to be honest it was a bit dry i ate it anyway. The bread and butter pudding was ok plenty thanks. I had a coke for drink.

Once again enjoyed a wonderful roast beef dinner, roast potatoes, Yorkshire and three veg. Beef melts in your mouth. Really good value for money especially if you are a pensioner during the week.

This is my wife and it's 5th visit. The quality of the food, and the value is excellent. The staff are friendly as are the customers. If you are in Claxton and want a good value, plain English meal well cooked it is well worth the effort to find this restaurant.

I ordered mushroom omlette with chips and salad. The omlette was amazing and tastes better than my own also the chips tasted fresh, I don't think they was frozen. It came out in a big steak plate and at £4.75 it was so cheap. The food was hot and so nice, I'm glad I went into Charlie's. The staff was really friendly. I will return and very soon 😃

Stayed at the Travelodge nearby so this the nearest cafe to the hotel. It is a hidden gem, the food was wonderful and I am wheat intolerant and they were more than happy to not only let me bring my own bread, but also offered to butter and toast it for me. Open from 7.30 I would definitely go back there

Stayed in Travelodge and this café just down the road. Both our meals were good value for money and staff friendly

Encontramos este diner en un paseo al azar buscando el almuerzo. Ambiente muy extraño y sucio decoración. Las mesas son muy pequeñas y bajas (como sentarse en una mesa para niños en una boda!), lo que hizo muy difícil comer nada.

this was just a few steps away from the travel lodge and the food was lovely and reasonable prices very lovely staff

had breakfast here as it is next to the travelodge. very nice and clean and service very quick, enjoyed and price good

Literalmente a la izquierda esta cafetería después de ir allí con mi hija en nuestra hora del almuerzo de trabajo, y este es el primero, y la última vez, alguna vez comer allí. Nuestro pedido se me pasó enseguida que era genial, pero luego les gustaría claramente olvidado sobre nosotros, porque después de 35 minutos la camarera vino y nos preguntó qué habíamos pedido, y los clientes venían después de nosotros nos sirvieron para su manera de comida antes que nosotros. Nos dejaron esperando 40 minutos antes de nuestra comida llegó, dejándonos 10 minutos para comer antes teníamos que volver a trabajar. Pedí una hamburguesa con cebollas - llegó sin cebollas, y un pequeño puñado de queso rallado y la hamburguesa estaba seco. No tuve tiempo para comer las patatas fritas y mi hija que había salchichas y puré de patatas, no tenía tiempo para comer las salchichas, así que no sólo nos derrochando dinero, desperdiciamos también de comida. Sin lugar a dudas no recomiendo este lugar a cualquiera.

I live in Clacton and, I'm ashamed to say, this is the first time I've been to "Cherie's"...it won't be...

Justo lo que quieres agradable cafetería, buena gente, buen servicio rápido y, lo más importante, lo que fui en una buena comida, y a un buen precio.

Small and friendly.Only had breakfasts which were cooked fresh to order with great cuppy of tea or coffee.Pleasant staff and great value.Next to Travellodge so very convenient.

Nice little café, offers a good selection and at reasonable prices. Not family friendly as there's limited spaces for buggies but there are high chairs. Nice outside area when/if the weathers decent.

I use this Cafe id say around 4 times a month and have to say they have things right here. All the meals I have had from here have been great, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I have got takeaways from here too and they have always been superb. The menu is varied and although this premise is a cafe, has a wide range of choices from your standard brekfast and sandwiches to decent home cooked main meals. Price is good too...meal for two with drinks usually comes in around £14

I Have been to Cherie's a few times since She opened the cafe with her daughters. After giving the place a total revamp and putting in a brand new menu. The cafe still offers a good selection of meals made from local fresh quality ingredients.She will also provide cartons to take food away so if you want a feast on the nearby beach it's great!She has a varied menu including proper cooked English breakfast , international dishes such as chilli con carne,Italian Meat balls and Goats cheese bake. Fish and chips is always on the menu too. The pricing is reasonable and you definitely get value for money. It is the ideal place to eat Breakfast if you are staying in the nearby Travel-lodge.The staff are friendly and will always try and make sure the customer is totally happy with the service and will give advice on food options available.. This cafe has a wonderful homely atmosphere I would go back ..
