Had pork belly crapes today and it was delicious. I once had it in Beijing and since then I have been craving it. But the crapes today was exceptionally delicious. I went for soybean paste and spicy flavour. Possibly a little too much soy bean as it over powered the taste of the other flavours. I can definitely taste the eggy crapes, belly pork, fried crispy thingy. It cost £9 as I wean for belly pork. It’s worth the price. You should have it when you are in China town.

Came for the Jianbing after being assured these were the best in London. They were not wrong!! Genuinely one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten. The flavours were out of this world. We will be back!

Avoid avoid avoid…. It takes 30 minutes waiting for a simple crepe, as they give priority to HungryPanda orders… The chinese crepe was way too spicy! AVOID!

It’s been a few years since I last visited the Chinese Tapas House. The place hasn’t changed much. It’s still selling the same street food, although the personnel has definitely changed. The pancake I got had less hoisin sauce and pickles than they used to make it. The pancakes are still nice, just started to taste bland halfway through as the sauce was eaten up.

Nice lady at the cooking area, very friendly and helpful. We had the wrap with the creckers and pork belly. Tasty, but we need to go back and try something else ;)

My husband and I decided to give this place a try after seeing a steady stream of customers, it's slightly out of the way of the main street so a good little find. We had a couple of pork buns, they were hot and fluffy with a delicious savoury filling, and a roast cold noodle with belly pork, it was well flavoured and piping hot, being made to order. The two staff were friendly, and the place looked well ordered, clean and busy. Would recommend.

We tried Chinese burritos, over priced (you got tricked into adding meat for 2 pounds extra which is half of the burrito price). The only reason we tried is that I have not had it for years. Very disappointed, not even close to how it should taste. And with this price, they must be kidding or just live on one time tourist money. By the way, two burritos cost me 12 pounds, the Chinese backery close by we got full bags of bun and bread (7 pieces) for about the same money (less). This place is exorbitant!

Visited here on a busy Sunday. There were alot of customers so that was a good sign. We ordered the chinese pancake with sausage and it wasn't to our liking. That could just be our tastebuds. Good service.

I love to get a snack from here nearly every time I'm in Chinatown. Not much has change in terms of the menu. Always order the vegetarian Chinese with pickles and still fantastic street food.

It is different. I tried the crepe with pork and picked vegetable for lunch. It was pleasant and interesting but I don't think I will have it again. Possibly just me or what I ordered. To be fair, I may go back and give the buns or desert a try. The service was friendly and it is very clean inside.

The Baptism are really yummy. What a pitty I am a vegetarian. The vegetable buns obviously don't sell that fast, so if veggies are unlucky they might get a dry one. But the meaty ones looked perfect inside. Moist, fluffy texture. But the filling itself is worth the try for baozi-afficionados like me. The crepes are to die for. Very close to my Beijing memories.

I love it here. Great Chinese street good. I never liked pickled vegetables until I had some in this place. It's not the cleanest place in the world, but hey it's street food. There's a few veggie options and the way the food is cooked mens that meat contamination is probably. I just make an exception for this place because the combination of fried dough, sweet sauce and pickled vegetables is so tasty. The shop also sells buns, egg puffs and a small selection of drinks. This place is very popular with visitors to Chinatown and especially with the Chinese tourists. Don't expect fine dining!

UPDATE: We became regulars here until 2020 and were very sad indeed to dscover that it has closed its doors. A real loss to anyone who enjoys first quality Japanese food! This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in London but it is so authentic that you need a guide. The sushi is good, the usual menu items are very good but if you really want to eat well you need to choose from the blackboard with the day's dishes chalked up in Japanese. Marinated squid guts and tuna cheek are delicious and so genuine: you could be in a very good local restaurant in Japan. These kind of dishes are not found in most London Japanese restaurants and this is why Sakana Tei is special. Grab a Japanese or literate Chinese friend and treat them in return for choosing the delicious surprises you would normally miss!
