Chislehurst Fish and Chips in Bromley

Usually on point with the ratio of money to how big the portion you get is… but near a £5 for this amount wasn’t it.. not sure what was happening tonight

Chips anemic and soggy . Fish tasted like ammonia ! Awful , never again.

I know fish and chips is a greasy meal but wow, this was the greasiest fish and chips and batter sausage I’ve ever had. The fish and mushy peas were tasteless, just the taste of grease. Me and my partner feel sick after, it has put us off fish and chips for life. Feel like I’ve drank a pint of oil.

You can smell burnt oil from the street.

The fish was disgusting, the price was like in a restaurant. Never again.

The chicken burger was full of oil, as if the fat was too cold and the sausage in batter was just the same would not ever go there again

Bought two kebabs and chips. Oil falling out the box. Threw them in the bin. Wasted 13.98 never again

Disgusting establishment. No wonder the hygiene rating is 1. After entering the place I was quick to observe the fact that the tables were covered in grime and the place smelled of raw chicken legs. Couldn't have a seat as a big fat geezer was occupying all 10 seats. The menu was overpriced; I got a large cod for a tenner and a small chips for a fiver. Ended up not getting any change after giving boss a £50 note. Guess bossman really thinks he's in America allowing himself these huge tips. Shambolic behaviour, really. After smothering the cod and chips in salt and vinegar, I didn't waste a minute to gobble up the gruesome munch. Seconds later i had to rush to the lavatory as my stomach seemed to have pulled an uno reverse on me. Vomited about 6 times. Returned to find my belongings stolen, and after consulting boss, I was shocked to discover that no CCTV was present inside the place. Shocking. Best believe it wasn't actually bossman who finessed my RM that set me back 200 grand. Anyway, I took my rubbish (which was all I had left after my iPhone 14 pro max and LV purse got nicked as well) and left the horrid place without a farewell. Will never set foot inside the place ever again.

Always a good deal with large portions

Nice people but didn’t taste very fresh, also seems like it takes a long time if you order inside. Lots of potential, just have to tweak some things.

Was to dear and chips overcooked as rest of food

Me and my partner often order from here. Was very disappointed today chips were so hard ( not crispy, been left in the Warner took long!!!) order large cod at £13 a piece it’s not cheap and was very smallb( definitely not large) been a costumer for few years now but been very disappointed last few times !! It’s not cheap have fish&chips now £55 and was poor!!!

I quite regularly buy cod and chips here and it's always delicious. Would like to see a spicy beanburger and more vegetarian food on the menu though. I'm not keen on the skin left on the fish, but it can easily be removed. Best fish and chips in the area.

Decent sized portions for kids fish & chips and tasted ok. Fried chicken less good as was 90% batter and tough as cardboard, won’t be ordering that again.

They’ve just started doing kebabs, had a lovely doner, would recommend

Went in this place against my better judgment. I was out on a walk and really fancied chips. I bought two portions of chips and 3 saveloy's for 3 adults. I asked for fresh chips because they were at the end. They were happy to cook fresh, I was happy to wait. Paid almost £14. Most of the chips were hard and the saveloy's were awful, no taste just horrid texture. I felt I had to complain because that's a lot of money. He said " I buy the best saveloys [you need to change your supplier then] and there is nothing wrong with the chips how can they be hard". Er perhaps because you didn't cook them long enough.. He gave the excuse that it was the time of year, winter and potatoes are hard...I have no words for that. It's called Freddies Famous Chipplehurst? Do they mean Chislehurst. I usually go to Bridges where taste is guaranteed. Sorry, but never again. Straight in the bin, lesson learned, never again. Looking at other reviews it seems I'm not alone in my opinion. Do better or you'll lose custom.

The cod is excellent, chips were lovely and chunky, all cooked fresh

All way had great food from here never had any issues if you ask for crispy chip you get crispy chips chicken is very nice and my dad loves using this place not saying everything is great but we always use this place and they always have what we want you just got to ask and you will get Good job guys

The worst fish and chips I ever had. The batter was so thick and stodgy and the fish had a terrible taste. Now have a very sick Husband thank god I did not eat mine and the most expensive £18 for 2 bits of rock

I used this chip shop last nite for the 1st time and i wouldn.t use it a 2nd time i only had a bag chips 2 rolls which didn.t have any butter in them so very dry and a can of coke £5.40 which i think was over priced for 2 dry rolls and chips wasn.t up to much

a solidly high quality chip shop, with friendly staff and management.

I had fried chicken and chips and they were OK and cheap.

It's ok, nothing special, standard fish and chips cooked to a decent standard.

Great fish and free chips 🍟 for OAP's. Reasonably priced too

If I could rate this without a star I would. Expensive food that was cold, the only item that was hot was the freshly cooked fish that leaked oil from its wrappings into its carrier bag. YUK! Complained to unhelpful staff and still waiting for a call back from the manageress 14 days later 😡 Upset tummies next day, not surprisingly!
