The place stinks of cooking oil and so will you. It’s the second time I’ve been, the services and food were fine but the place has a real problem with its extraction in its open kitchen and both times all our clothes including our coats smelt so badly they had to go in the wash when we got home,

Came here for my boyfriends birthday for the first time and we LOVED it - everything down to the incredible music playing, will definitely be back - lovely waitress and great food

Disappointing af - extremely overpriced for what it is. 90% of plate is standard oven fries with a tiny spoonful of slaw. No sauces or service. Don’t expect anything special from here.

We should have known it wasn’t going to be good when they weren’t expecting us, despite booking in advance. Incredibly slow service. Waiting over an hour for anything. Waitresses don’t even look at us to get drinks whilst waiting. Waited 20 minutes for a second drink. We weren’t the only table waiting the same length of time. When the food finally did arrive it was incredibly underwhelming, a case of looking great but no flavour or substance. I wouldn’t be going back and will not recommend it

Food was average at best. All our food was delivered and we had to ask for cutlery for the whole group. One order came out wrong and where we were sat we could here the kitchen staff moaning about our group. One order was the butchers block, very disappointing at best. Half the block was cold. The chicken wings were definitely not cook freshed. And then added a £22 pound service tip to the bill. We won't be in a rush to return .

Absolutely amazing food and friendly staff

Table for 10 and a birthday celebration, food pre ordered but unfortunately they still for the order wrong. Service was very poor, was offered a discount but this wasn’t taken off the bill at the end. Most of the food was nice but some issues with the chicken and steaks. Don’t bother ordering a dessert. Wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Food: foods great if you’re looking for a variety of western/American food like wings and steak etc.. Had a wonderful Sunday lunch . Everything cooked to perfection. Visited with friends but will definitely be going back with the family as was so good . Nice wine and Baileys cheesecake too 😋

Came on Saturday night, was average but not super busy We went for the butcher’s block to try a bit of everything and it was all bang average Service was great, some of the staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there but overall server was super nice and the atmosphere was decent When the food came it was absolutely covered in micro greens to a point in which I couldn’t see what was on the block Beef cheek - surprisingly quite fatty and bland Tandoori lamb - weird taste to add to a butchers block but it was ok Steak - pretty decent, a little rare for my liking but wasn’t asked how I’d like it Chicken wings - these were great, the only part of the dish I really enjoyed Pork belly - not very crispy, tasted overly smoky Corn ribs - as dry as the Sahara desert, just covered in seasoning The real kicker was when the bill came and it was £7 a pint which they don’t display the prices of on the menu, it would have been a 3 star if it wasn’t for that Overall food was okay but nothing to rave about and probably won’t return

This was our first visit to the chop shop but it won't be our last, really impressed with the place, it has a definite up-market feel to it, The staff were professional and friendly, the beer was good as was the overall atmosphere. Although we didn't eat here on this visit ,we did have a look at the menu, a good range of dishes are available and not overly priced either ,so next time round we will be trying the food here

Don't have the belly pork, if you do, then there may be none left for me! Seriously though, I visit here regularly, the food is REALLY GOOD and the staff are lovely.

Lovely food and great service today at Chop Shop Bar & Grill, highly recommend and will definitely be back. Had the Korean Rotisserie Chicken and Truffle & Parmesan fries, both very tasty. Other members of our group had the Sunday Roast which looked delicious and they were also happy with their food and finishing it off with the white chocolate cheesecake went down a treat. Thanks for making our Sunday a good one.

OH DAYUM! I do love a good streak and I'm an avid BBQ'er so never really have that much hope when I get to a restaurant offering them but Chopshop did not disappoint. Great starters and supremely juicy steak. its pre seasoned though so for some might be a little salty, but all the more umami there ;) The tomahawk, ribeye, sirloin and fillet all got great reviews from the party. The was a range of decent beers to suit most tastes as there should be down Kelham and plenty of wine choice too. The service was professional and friendly for all the group and I'll sure be back soon

Good friendly staff, great food

Went on Friday, it was very quiet but we did eat at 6 which is early for some, It did liven up whilst we were. Food was phenomenal and the service was great. Definitely worth the visit if you're in the area.

I came here a couple years ago and had an average experience the food was okay the service wasn’t superb the food took a while to come out too , but today I decided to give it another shot and go for the Sunday lunch I went for the the flat iron roast, I couldn’t even cut the steak and neither could the person I was with it was super fatty it felt like a workout to cut, we got one carrot and 3 roast potatoes abit off cabbage and a good size Yorkshire pudding but it was a shame it was like eating cardboard. The place was empty at 2 pm on a Sunday which I felt was weird. The service was okay, the two girls that was working were polite. But to say there was approximately 7 people in the place I would’ve expected the chefs to put abit more effort into the dishes. ( broccoli was not cooked either )

We both had the butchers block! They very kindly swapped something out for me too. The food quality is high, and it’s Kelham. The prices reflect it accurately in my opinion. The service speed was normal, not rushed and not slow. We had a lovely evening

Went there today for my Granddaughter 18th Birthday.Food was good.But when we ask for the bills to pay separately.Because there were 15 of us 4 family’s .Was told they could not do it.When we got the bill realised why they put 10% service charge on .We all way leave a very good tip. But don’t agree with it just been added to the bill.Not happy.No ribs available.

Had Sunday dinner here with the family. Best steak I’ve had in Sheffield and a bargain at 16.75. Raved all week to everyone about how good this place is. Even had Voiginer on the wine list.

The food tasted wonderful lots of flavour the only downside was we were waiting a good 40 mins for our starters after ordering but in their defence they did give us a round of drinks for the inconvenience ..all in all would recommend 👌

Meat lover's paradise! Everything was delicious. I absolutely recommend the pork tacos starter. The butchers block can easily be shared by two (add a few sides). Great tunes to make for a great experience.

This was the first stop on a recent Kelham Island Food Tour (17/05/2024), and Oh My Word, the pork ribs starters melt in your mouth! A beautiful place with friendly and attentive staff, and a great place to meet and eat. I'll most CERTAINLY be returning to sample more of their mouth-watering menu!

I thought the food was average. I had a wagyu burger. Personally I would not have it again but just go for the basic beef burgers as there was no difference in taste. All sides are an extra £5 each. Roasted veg consisted of Mushrooms, Courgettes which wasn’t made clear and some in the party didn’t like these. If you are a small person be aware you will be low down at the table. One of our party was sat very low, upon asking if they had any cushions to boost the height was told no they hadn’t.

Our 1st visit to the Chop Shop. Service great and food was lovely. Well worth a visit.

Burgers used to be banging. Now that they've switched to frozen burgers from afar - not so much. My reply: Well then, you need to have a word with your butcher because quality has dropped massively.

Quite possibly the best food I’ve had in Sheffield. As a business traveller I spend time in boring hotel bars or rubbish brand restaurants a fair bit. Sometimes you just want a decent bit of food and a place that doesn’t shove you round the corner because you’re a table for one. Chop shop was brilliant. Really good service and the atmosphere was excellent too - it felt a bit like a posh soul food restaurant with music playing but not stupidly loud and the staff attentive but not in your face. Food was amazing. I had the lamb kofta as a starter which was really tasty and the pittmaster burger as a main. The burger was a really good size, cooked excellently and came with a good portion in fries and more than all that they served it on a plate! None of those stupid chopping boards or little tins with the fries in. Sure the wine was a bit pricey at £9 for a large glass but that’s pretty much what you pay anywhere these days. Will I go back? Damn straight I will. Found somewhere in Sheffield that I definitely will eat at again

Excellent food (including their Sunday Brunch) - great grills and desert. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with a good selection on beer on tap. Yo top it off, excellent service!

Birthday meal for my partner and we both had a great time, the host we had was great! Food was perfect and tasted great!

Me, my wife and two friends had pre-booked a table for 8pm on Saturday 24 Feb 2024. We arrived on time and were immediately informed that there was a slight delay in getting food out of the kitchen. When ordering our food we were informed that there were no ribs, no chicken and only two pieces of fish remaining. This was at 8pm! When our sharing starters arrived at 9.00pm we asked for side plates and had to make do with three plates between four because that was all that was available. The food was lukewarm at best. When our mains arrived at 9.45pm the food was also warm at best. The lamb cutlets were inedible because they were served cold. The table staff were apologetic and it was plain to see that they were dealing with similar issues with other diners. They did discount the lamb cutlets from our bill together with one of our bottles of wine. It does appear that the kitchen (which is on view) is disproportionate in size to the number of covers available in the restaurant. A very disappointing evening indeed!

The food took almost an hour to cook, been waiting for so long.

First time here and for a family birthday meal. The food was fantastic and my dream menu. My family all felt the same. Everything was superb! The only tiny thing to note was the atmosphere was a tiny flat and at times we felt like we were whispering (waitress might disagree with 2 young kids) Its a big place and it was very quiet. There is a fine balance with background music but perhaps could be turned up a notch or two. Didnt in any way detract from a fantastic afternoon. Lovely! thank you

Came for lunch on a Saturday and got the 2 burgers for £20 offer. Burgers were piled high and were excellent. We were the only people in at lunch time, so service was very quick. Would definitely recommend for a quick burger.

I’ve been been here a few times already since I’ve moved in Kelham Island and every time the food was absolutely amazing, they have the best Sunday roast we’ve had and the portions are really big and worth the money. I also tried some of the starters, burgers, steaks and desserts and I have no complaints for any of these. The service is friendly and treats the customers with a lot of care & the drinks were really good too. Honestly, I love coming back to this place. Everything is always perfect!

We couldn’t get into Victorian markets because they didn’t allow dogs. Quite pleased, came here and had the best burger and pint ever. Nice and cosy away from the cold outside, great service too.

Three times in two weeks due to work, excellent friendly staff, Calamari and steaks been on point each time and Barnsley lamb chop is delicious and relatively cheap , will come here whenever I'm working away in Sheffield

Excellent food and excellent service.

The roast chicken was absolutely fantastic. Forgot to take a picture as i was so hungry! Had it with the chimmichuri salsa verde, parmesan truffle fries, and broccoli. Would definitely come here again. Would like to try the sunday roast here based on this visit

Sat us at our table and took nearly 30 minutes to even offer us a drink, at which point we ordered food. This took over an hour to arrive, we weren’t even offered another drink. To top it off, the food wasn’t anywhere near good enough to justify the prices, even with student discount and the time we had to wait

Food is amazing, I can't take anything away from that! Drinks service is pretty slow. I drink beer and their menu only allows a half pint glass. So after 2 visits to my drink it was gone. I felt like I was constantly asking for another drink and they didn't have enough staff. I would definitely return for the food but not for the bottomless brunch.

Lovely afternoon having bottomless brunch. Food was amazing and staff were really attentive. Our waitress Vanessa was lovely and made our day really special.

Really nice. We 4 had different dishes; each was excellent. The only dark beer is Guinness, which was very good. They have a good range of lagers and IPAs. The wine list is long.

Came on saturday with friends. Andy was our server and couldnt have been nicer to us ...the other staff were all really polite and friendly had banter with us and it was good fun. The food was delicious ...all 4 of us had something different and nothing at all was wasted...i ordered my burger with no brioche bun and it wasnt any bother at all . We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be returning ......so get ready Andy 😘

The waitress was very kind but there were issues with the food. We got 3 burgers, the taste indicated that the patties were frozen, which is weird for a £14 burger in such a restaurant. Also there is a sign outside the restaurant that says there is a 20% student discount and 1+1 burgers. Unfortunately there was 15% student discount and no 1+1 burgers offers

Hands down the best pork belly I've ever eaten. I could literally eat that everyday for the rest of my life. The steaks are incredible too, cooked to perfection and so delicious! The staff are always excellent too, really accommodating and friendly, and even printed out a separate menu for someone in our group who had a lot of allergies. Can't wait to go back, and would recommend to anyone - a Sheffield must-do!

If you love meat and want ethical meat, then this is for you. Incredible menu! The flavours are amazing. I had the beef Cheek brioche to start and it was the best tasting meat dish I've ever had. My friends had the pork belly and it was delicious! This was better than it's Sister restaurant The butcher and catch. I will definitely be returning here. Highly recommend.

Please amend your website to reflect your actual opening times. Travelled across Sheffield to eat only to find your opening hours had changed on a Friday to 4pm. What's the point of a website if it can't even get that right. Obviously I would have rated you zero if I could. Your response is extremely condescending. We rang from outside the restaurant itself to be told by your own staff it didn't open until 4. Its also taken you 2 months to respond. Suggest you take criticism without insulting those people who complain.

Good burgers, very tasty and plenty for just one course

First time here and what a great place! Plenty of choice for all courses and reasonably priced too. Service was only bettered by the atmosphere. Definitely recommend and will be back again soon.

The meat was nicely cooked and all the cuts we tried were of high quality meat! The desserts were also very tasty!

What a place, Saturday Tea Time food turned into a full night out, me and the wife started with Lamb Koftas and Salt & Pepper Calamari 👌👌👌 Mains of medium rare 'T' Bone Steak cooked to perfection and Sword Fish Steak, both absolutely amazing. Beautiful choice of draught beers and Wines. Cannot recommend this place enough 👌👌👌

Food was absolutely lovely and so was the service only thing is it was a very loud environment.

Food was very good and quickly prepared. However the service not great, the person who took our order completely messed it up without any way of correcting or changing compensation and that change the whole experience. Definitely won't be coming again.

We went this evening with our son whom we were visiting. The restaurant is done out very nice,staff were very friendly and accommodating right from our arrival, without being over the top. Great menu with lots of choices. We had the pork belly,lamb koftas and Halloumi fries to start. Then main course, rack of ribs, venison and steak burger and half a rotisserie chicken with broccoli and roast potatoes. Also had Parmesan fries. The food was amazing and beautifully cooked. We all said it was the best meal we had in a long time whilst out. Drinks were good (especially the Dark and stormy cocktail). Maisie and Jake our server's were fabulous, friendly and helpful but lovely down to earth people. Good value for money at £117 which included, starter's,mains &6 alcoholic drinks between us. I couldn't find fault anywhere, would definitely return next time we're visiting Sheffield. Thank you all for an amazing experience.

After having an amazing dinner here the previous week, we wanted to try the bottomless brunch for a friends birthday there was 11 of us. The food was unbelievable and so was the service (thank you!) I class myself as a professional bottomless bruncher and this is honestly one of the best I have been to. We were all very impressed and will definitely be returning and recommend.

It was a Thursday evening, and most of the tables were available. We were told to sit anywhere we like. The service was impeccable. Friendly and attentive staff member. I ordered bread and olives to start, flat iron steak with chicken fat roasties as the side dish, while my friend ordered fried chicken and waffles. I wish the bread was slightly toasted or a less crumbly bread to be used instead. The wait staff suggested me to with medium doneness level, and I'm glad I decided to go with it. The meat quality was great (£10 for 227gr), but I felt that it was slightly under seasoned. The steak came with some garlic & shallot butter and a bed of watercress. The roasties on the other hand, was a bit too salty, but very nicely cooked. I tried some of the chicken and waffles too. The chicken was cooked to perfection, while the waffles were just alright. The coleslaw was quite nice. We had a great time, and each of us spent less than £20. Would love to go back. Thanks.

Went here for the first time tonight to celebrate my 30th birthday with the family... We had the most wonderful time! The food was AMAZING. We all literally said it was the best meal we've had for a long time. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, and just can't wait to go back again! Thank you so much.

Lastnight me and my friend had both had a steak from here and they were amazing decent quality size weight and thickness top notch.
