Great kebabs! Friendly staff! Chicken kebabs are great!

Donner kebab was decent but the shish kebab..I went for regular but was not expecting just 5 pieces of chewy meat. 8 pound for 5 small pieces of meat is ridiculous.

Absolutely disgusting with response! Never get a refund Never replaced a meal yet!

Went in there on a Saturday night to get a cheesy chip wrap and as soon as we walked in they took the Micky out of my mates hair! It was constant insults, I loved it! Was so funny, whole shop was in stitches. Highly recommend! Food was good too.

I have never used this place before but was recommended by a friend and I have to say my order was delivered quick and food still hot and portions and flavours was great I’ve used many kebab shops and was more flavour and quality using this place will use again for sure

First visit in a while. Parked next to the pub and called in for a medium donner kebab. Surprised by the new sign with the bizarre spelling of ‘Charcol’ and the number has changed to 663457. Wondered if this is a new business or the old one with changed sign but at the counter the jacquard on the staff polo shirts was still City Charcoal Grill, so who knows? They claimed not to be taking card payments which rings the usual bells. The food was OK and averagely priced and still warm when I got it home.

Absolutely beautiful food always got on time shish cooked to perfection as I like it pink and very tender quality meat and quality salad ... highly recommended 🤤

Absolutely incredible kebab food, ordered on the 17/02/24 and when the food arrived it was still warm, considering I live in plympton. The pot of sauce was big and they didn’t lack with the portions, would order again. Thankyou for a speedy and delicious delivery.

favourite pizza place in plymouth and really good prices compared to elsewhere. food is always banging and the delivery drivers are polite and friendly every time.

So we used to order here all the time over a year ago the food was good and not bad price. They always had the odd time of forgetting something but you don't mind the odd as they corrected it straight away. Then they went down hill. Put there prices up, food dropped in quality and missed items on orders ALL the time! So we stopped ordering from here 8 months on and we thought we would try again! Big mistake! Not only has the prices gone up again! They still missed items off the food orders. A bit of advice take 5 seconds more on each recipt so you don't miss items. Then get that recipt double checked by a second person making them spend 5 seconds more checking it!! This will solve alot of ur complaints and may find people might start returning!

Just had a takeaway. Was one of the most delicious meals I've had in forever! Arrived swiftly and was piping hot. The salad was awesome! All those colours and flavours! Chicken yummy! Garlic mushrooms chippies... Garlic sauce 🍄 hummus! It was all bang on perfect. I even called them to say thank you it really was that good! Highly recommended!

overall nice people who delivered a good kebab. However, the chicken was not good and my food took over an hour to arrive

Our first time at this place and using Uber eats. It arrived almost 30 mins past the delivery time BUT, they called and kept us up to date on this and that they were out of one thing we ordered but was resolved quickly. When it came, they were very apologetic and it was very tasty and hot. Definitely order form here again. Uber gave me £10 off but once they added delivery etc it only took £3 off.

Fantastic kebabs of the Sheesh, Kofte and Donner variety. All tasty and delicious. Good coleslaw too. Friendly staff. Good prices. Cooked fresh in front of you. Don't forget a can of fizzy. Yum. I recommend the mixed Sheesh 2 😋

What a great place big on the lamb chops guys not to be missed

I'll admit it, I'm a kebab fatty that orders a kebab to be delivered when I'm sober. I've always had a tasty chicken doner and chips from these guys. Not too greasy, salad is always fresh and the delivery is always speedy.

Probably the worst chicken kebab I've ever had. Don't bother with the XL it's the same size as a large from anywhere else and expensive

This place used to be good, we’ve been ordering from them for years. Won’t be again they don’t listen to what you want, no salad with my kebab, rang them and they made excuses, nearly £7 for a pitta bread and a small amount of meat.😡

Ordered 3 Dinner Meats with Salad and a couple Spicy Potatoes, every one of the Donner Meats had Chilli Sauce added to it, I would not recommend this Take Away as they do not listen to your order

The pizza here is brilliant. if you like lots of toppings on your pizza without the Dominoes prices. This is the place. The other food it also pretty good. But I wouldn't waste your time on the fish and chips. The fish isn't recommended especially if you love a good fish and chip restaurant in Plymouth. Which there are plenty. But overall a great place for food. Kebabs are also good but not quite as good as Food4U just up the road towards the University. Saying that though... I prefer their Pizza to Food4U So depending on what you want.... take your pick.

Good size portions and reasonably priced, can be a slightly long wait for delivery over the weekend, but that's to be expected.

Food is cooked on ordering so nice and fresh. When you get your order it piping hot so by the time you get home it's just right to eat to enjoy. Will shop here again and again also if lazy we order online.

The kebab was plentiful, but the meat was anaemic and had bits of paper/filler in it and tasted nothing like lamb, as it was supposed to be. The "chilli sauce" is just tomato and chilli blended together into a thick paste and tastes unpleasant and is in no way an actual sauce. Pizza was nice.

Myself and many others used to use this place regularly Subtle things - wrong change - really badly prepared orders - just a bit off ish We pretty much all gradually stopped going there ---- Just recently was passing by and hungry Ordered spicy spuds - they asked if wanted anything on top - sure can I have some chilli sauce and a dollop of coleslaw please Handed over a tenner - not really thinking about the change - but as I walk away I realise Spicy spuds - wiv a splash of chilli sauce and a dollop of coleslaw on top = £4.50! Just for reference I bought exactly the same food a couple of weeks later at the shop across the road - £3 - gave the server a fiver and said keep the change I don't mind spending money - but no-one likes being seen off Even if it were free - I won't be back to City Grill

1st time we ordered and our order was wrong. We stated No cheese on a 1/4 pounder burger as my mum is allergic to it. There was Cheese on top. Gave them a 2nd chance and they still did not get it right. Missing chips and a drink. I stated again NO PITA with the kebab meat and we got Pita. They need to pay more attention to what the customer wants!!

One star too many!!! where to start??!! nearly an hour late, food was cold, what was eaten was NO good, most of it went to the bin! When I called, it was late due to traffic!! only live 5 minutes away!!! Worst take away ever!! don't bother, save your money!!!

In reverse no recent in bag as promised. Told 50mins to an hour turned up late. The small chicken shish I wanted turned up large, had no salad as requested but drowned in ketchup the medium shish turned up large drowned in mayo no salad. Salad requested not included. Then to top it of mine was cold. What a waste of money the most expense mayo and ketchup I've paid for. Ps warm and cold chips yummy not

This is a prime site on a constantly busy evening and late night artery for all ages and types out having a good time on the Plain or in and out of town. It’s been here for a very long time. The last four or five years have seen it sink in service and quality. It hangs on because of online trade and passers by, famished folk like us staggering home or folk from the adjacent and nearby bars. The turnover of kebab sales means that you can be reasonably sure that the meat on the roti should be in reasonable condition. The burgers on the grill are acceptable. But they really have to do something about the indifferent service, the sauce mixes, the salads, the wrappings, the seating and the prices all need adjustment and improvement.

Online prices tempt you in but prices are higher when you order and the food was disappointing.

we have not used theses for sometime now as they went completely down hill. they were always late and food was bad. we tried them again and after all this time things ave still not changed. the food was late and when it came the order was wrong and the food we had was stone cold, we phoned and complained and thet said we could warm it up (we had chicken which you cant just warm up) we then asked them to pick it up and give us a refund and this even took an hour and half. we will never use them again as there are a lot of kebab houses in Plymouth that are far better than them

Waited an hour and 45 mins was told it would be deliverd it an hour. When it was delivered the food was of poor quality. Kebab was awful over cooked chicken with no flavour,chicken pieces tasted disgusting and the potato where bland and grease. Won't be ordering from here again.

Food has really gone down hill priced very very high. For a now very poor product. Kebab was very fatty never used to be and the price has gone through the roof. May be good food for drunk students but I wont be returning. 1* food rating I'm surprised it got that many. Such a shame was by far the best in Plymouth now possibly the bottom

one of the most disgusting culinary experiences I've had in my life I've ordered the medium Donner the pita bread was 3 days old and the Doner kebab itself was dry like leather and was too expensive As a chef any one who does not care about what they're selling should shut down the place The place was unsanitary not clean so was the Donner I eat They rather buy leather shoes cut them up into shreds and go full on Charlie Chaplin on it Not recommended even for a hungry dog Ps got home and puked my guts out.

Never ordering from here again. Ordered my food and it ended up being 2 hours late! Called the place 2 times. 1 call they told me it was on it’s way the 2nd time calling them the driver went to the wrong address. The driver turned up and didn’t even seemed bothered and not an apology from him. To top it off didn’t even get my free bottle of drink that I was meant o get if you spend over £19.

Seriously we've resorted to coming here lots in the past few months as other kebabs and take-aways in the area are lacking in quality and I'm quite happy to say that not only is the food here better than ever but the service has been great as well as there being a short order time. The only thing I would say is a negative is that their large chips is pretty small.

Normally very good but food was half an hour late ordere it at 8.30 arrived at 10.15 was told it would be here by 9.45

havent used these for a while as they went down hill, and shocker nothing has changed. Didnt even recieve my order, i phoned at an hour after placing order and was told it was in shop waiting for driver and then phoned another half hour later and was told exactly the same again that they where wiating for a driver so i new that by the time i get it it would of been cold as it was there for at least half hour just waiting, so i told them i didnt want the order and they didnt really care.

Brilliant. Just as I remembered from being a student living in mutley minus the terminators at cafe sol!

Been using this place for two or three decades because it’s local and convenient. It’s a prime spot for Mutley. Sadly last night was that one too far disappointment that tested and finally broke our loyalty. The chilli sauce had no taste or bite. The lamb mix in the kebab was almost cold in all of the three we bought and we live less than 5 mins drive away. This late evening meal was unpalatable and wasted. Difficult to think of a reason to come back.

The best lads around, unreal food, best night of my life

I ordered my wife and I food at 10.15pm and was told it would be with us within 45mins. An hour later, I call them back to ask how much longer it would be and was told it would definitely be with us in another half an hour. Yet here i am still waiting with no food, it's now 12.20 and I still have not received my order plus I've been trying to call them and I'm not getting an answer. It's bloody ridiculous not even a call from them to let us know if it's coming but frankly I'm not very hungry now and it's way to late to eat really. Will not use this place again

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!! Ordered food from here burger was crispy on edges like it had been recooked over and over again. Woke up following day I'll from food finding out I had food poisoning, when approaching the staff they said the food was fine and refused to do anything about it and tried saying there food is brilliant and never had a complaint, looking at there food made me feel sick, salad was placed next to kebab and burgers where discoloured, how this place is still trading I do not no. Will definitely not be returning and for anybody considering ordering from here DONT!

2 hours wait for delivery. Wrong order we received chips instead of spicy potatoes. Food was cold.
