Clockwork is always good for a pizza and a pint

Large pub near Hampden Park, Glasgow that once brewed its own beer but not now. Feels a little bit souless. Serves food but haven't tried.

There for a few pints before the Rangers game, great atmosphere.

Superb range of beers and food plus great staff.

Great pizza, great atmosphere and didn't have to queue too long for beer.

Solid pub and food. Good selection of beers. Imagine it’s good when various football games are on.

We use the Clockwork Bar twice a year for a Fire Service retired get-together. My review will always be biased as the location and staff are and have always been fantastic to us.

Didn't have food, quizz was almost done. Good atmosphere, clean and service was good. A bit rushed at end of night, felt hurried to finish drink.

Small menu but decent portions for 5 people. Quiet atmosphere on a weekday. Was hoping more choice of beers & ales but tasty enough.

Spent all yesterday watching six nations games. Service was really good, and welcoming. Food was fine - basic but hit the spot. Overall atmosphere was great and was great to see families welcome as well. (Lots of wee tots in Scotland rugby tops!). Given we had ran up an all day food and drink tab we were also pleasantly surprised with the bill - very reasonable considering. Will be back soon!

Great bar near Hampden Park. Real ales are served along with many other drinks. The food looked and smelled amazing, I didn't eat, but plenty of others were, which says a lot. Friendly staff and customers, popular when Queens Park FC are playing at home and no doubt chaos for bigger events!!

I visited today, first time in a while. I used to live in the area and it was my go to place every weekend. I get that sometimes you need to do a refurbishment. However its lost all of its character. Beautiful building on the outside but its bland and lacks friendliness. Its sad that this pub has lost its sparkle. Loved the old nooks and crannies and the brewery. Don't understand why they took thw massive fireplace away. That was always popular and you were lucky to get a seat near it. Think it's over refurbished and would be good to get the locals back in instead instead of it being a fancy pub. Just my observation. Staff were lovely x

Great place and staff recommend

Been a regular on and off for almost 30 years through different versions of this space - the Rocking Horse, Boon’s Yard , the Outhouse. The refurb to the orignal Clockwork was quite radical from what it had been before and levelled up the place and brought in the crowd. . A testament to quality craftsmanship and interior design. Solid wood, sweeping staircase, upstairs space, lots of quirky features - raised areas, booths, dining area. I was gutted to see it in its current form. Why did they get rid of that beautiful staircase to the upper level ? Why get rid of the gorgeous L-shaped bar just to make a new, less attractive bar on the other side of the space ? Why spend large amounts of money destroying such interesting, unusual and quality features for the sake of creating just another large, bland function hall ? It really puzzles me. The whole place has been made mediocre and flat and the entire original interior has been destroyed when it should have been preserved and cherished for years to come. It looks like it’s no longer a microbrewery either. A depressing visit. Won’t be back.

Ordered a smashed burger ..the only thing that was smashed was the bread rolls..it was hard ,chilled and was broken ... and the chips were served in a take out box !!£14.50 ... rotten

Micro brewery, bar with food and a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Very pleasant staff and excellent service. Good selections of snacks, pizzas, side dishes and sweets. As the menu is changing next week, the menu items are somewhat reduced but tasty nevertheless. Closes at 10pm Monday to Wednesday when it is quieter but opens later on other nights. I was there Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Thursday evening was very much busier. Good atmosphere, recommended.

We booked a table for five. After being shown to our table, a stand-off occurred. The staff looked at us, we looked at the staff, they looked at us. Overcome by a passion for a drink, we approached the bar and ordered drinks and food. We ordered smash burgers and pizzas...the burgers were in no way 'smashed', the pizzas were bland. Our cutlery consisted of two forks and three knives, for a table of five. The bar itself was freezing, the bouncers patrolled the area like prison guards, later they decided to clear tables. On a positive note, it's a nice big space with tellys to watch the football. But otherwise they struggle with the basics, the really basic stuff, like cutlery.

Didn't have food so can't comment but it looks good so I'll try it next time. Drinks affordable. Good pint of Tennents!

Decor good, pints average, ales too warm.

Came in with few pals for football and ordered Small Nachos, Smashed Cheeseburger and an Italian pizza. Food looked and tasted equally amazing, good portion sizes and fast service. Would recommend

Used to be a regular haunt when I worked local to the Clockwork and was a cracking place, but since the renovation I've only been in once, foot isn't great, prices are extortionate, no micro brewery in the place now. Imho the place has been ruined by the renovation and unfortunately I won't be returning.

The picture of the food is not what you will get.

The food was alright. It took ages to get served, our table was dirty, the music was loud and AWFUL and everything was over priced. Gutted, it used to be a half decent pub.

literally the worst service ive ever experienced, the place was packed due to chilli peppers concert, upstairs bar one man serving, one spare P£$%K standing there serving the odd customer and eating lemons, queued round the bar, stood for 40 mins to get a beer, first and definitely the worst ive ever experienced

Updated update Still rocks, still one of those places that never seems to get the footfall recognition, don't know why, but selfishly it means I get what I want and dont have to share with the crowds 😁 Update Still one of the best boozers in the Southside, well worth a visit. Previous Love the revamp, can't believe the extra's they went too for the Euro's....but it is the staff that makes this place...mainly youngster with some seasoned veterans, but always happy, always fun, great service ...if u r in the Southside just go!!!

Visited here on the way to see the RHCP at Hampden Park. Friendly staff, nice food and setting.

Not for me.... Waited outside to get in... Then joined a queue inside to get served... After 20 minutes I left as the DJ had obviously just finished a gig at the home for the deaf and not adjusted the volume. I sat outside Tesco with a kerry oot. I get it's manic before a Scotland game, but they've not quite sussed it out yet.

Was in with my daughter for some pre drinks before the Scotland v Georgia match. We didn't have any food but the beers went down well. Didnt fancy the queue right enough to get served, but it was extremely busy and the atmosphere was brilliant. The pipers were also great and gave that traditional Scottish nostalgic feeling to add to the atmosphere. It was a great night and when the game eventually finished was a great result.

The mac and cheese was no mac an cheese more like mac on its own the so called cheese sauce is literally squirty cheese 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ it was so bland I never finished it 😫 everything else was amazing

Great bar, great pub would highly recommend. Staff are great and have the banter. Brilliant beer garden for the southside 5 stars all around

Clockwork is right round the corner from us so up until recently it was our local. However, the price of a pint is almost £6 for most beers and they also have recently taken off some beers from their menu. Each time we’ve eaten there recently, the food has arrived different to the last time we ordered it. The quiz is really the only thing this place has going for it anymore, that and the staff being great. I just can’t justify paying £5 for a Strongbow dark fruits anymore.

Excellent ,spacious modern venue. Food looks good though didn't partake as i was playing a gig there. Staff were fantastic,helpful and friendly. You can also watch sports on the right night. Thoroughly Recommended. 🤗

They apparently renovated the place & it seems more like a demo. It's tacky, uncomfortable, and the lighting is off. Sorry I'm all about the lighting, lol. I'm curouis to know what the vibe is their trying to set? I defo won't be back, even though it's one of my locals.

Visited on Sat (18/10) along with several friends on the way up to watch Queen's Park v Inverness CT. Friendly quick service by the staff. Only downside was being told they were no longer brewing on site, so there was only one Clockwork beer on sale.

Good service , in for a couple of drinks.

Went recently for something to eat and drinks with 3 others. Felt that the food was over priced. The pizza was nothing like your normal pizza, very strange. Drinks fine, staff very good. Then a band came on - conversation stopped and we left . Been here before and the noise level is pretty high, even without a band - needs soft furnishings or something to absorb some of the noise.

Have never felt less welcome at a pub. Went in for the football, appreciate not a lot of punters in, but to be flipping chairs onto tables during the night made us feel like we had to leave. Asked to leave before the football had even finished and to use the back door because they’d locked the front door. Disappointing given that the previous ownership, microbrewery, and layout made for such a wonderful community pub

Cracking community pub. A couple of real ales and an imaginative burger and pizza offering. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Staff very attentive. Food lovely, it’s pub food mostly they serve such as burgers and pizzas etc but every time we go we know we are gonna get our moneys worth. Couldn’t fault this place at all. The art work in this place is amazing also. I used to come here when it was the boungeyard and even then couldn’t fault the service the staff put in. All amazing! (-:

Very good food and drink - if a little expensive...

Clockwork was great: from the food which you can see looks and was delicious to the whole atmosphere. They were busy due to the World Cup but that didn't stop them from providing great customer service.

Breakfast with santa to be avoided. Breakfast 45 mins late, cold and rock hard, when I complained the response was they don't do breakfast, we just opened for this today. I'm sorry but if your running a breakfast with santa event, you need to do better than this, in one word, shambles. Not been for food at evening but if this is the quality of food, I wouldnt be stepping one foot over the door.

The building looks like a old garage. Big room +lantern light. Rear beer garden + car park. 4 h/ pulls two on both good. Staff friendly..

Finally opened after a refurbishment and COVID. The microbrewery is gone, meaning that their unique beers have also disappeared to be replaced with the usual. A bit disappointing. Not as good as the old Clockwork bar

Lovely local pub with extremely friendly staff with a good knowledge of their decent whisky selection, great food too. So good we came three nights in a row, shame we live so far away or we would be there every night.

Perfectly located, a few minutes walk from Hampden, for a pre game drink. Though busy, the staff were on good form. They spent time sorting out a screwed up order made from the QR code on the table. Well done! Only disappointment was they ran out of IPA 😞

Not too bad Very quiet so no atmosphere

Not one for leaving reviews but was not happy with the service my friends and I received the other night from a staff member in particular (very tall man). My friends and I were in for drinks and he was treating us disrespectfully, speaking to us aggressively and looking down at us. We felt like he was discriminating us because we were a bit younger than other crowds in the pub. Although we will not be returning due the service we received off this man, all other staff were polite and the food was great and very reasonably priced.

Had a roast here at the weekend, service was 10/10, food was amazing and a great atmosphere

Food wasn't the best. Kids options limited and kids pizza was like a calzone. Pint also had long black hair in it.

Delicious meal. A lack of real ales, but that may have been poor timing, as I'm assured there would generally be more on.

I was here when Coldplay were having a concert nearby. It was extremely busy but the staff formed a good queue system and even under so much pressure the bar person who served us (there was several) seemed unphased and pleasant. For what I could see of the furniture it did look a bit minimalistic however it has a nice atmosphere. I would go back.

Food was amazing, good choices and some combinations I don't see too often. Their cocktails were all unique as well, with a great beer selection. We plan to head back when weather is a bit calmer.

Shows how long ago we were last there as the bar is on the other wall! One of the mens toilets doesn't have a cubicle which might suit most men but not all. Yes, there's a toilet at the back but...

Only giving 3 stars as I went on the night Ed Sheeran was playing in Hampden Park down the street from Clockwork, and so maybe this impacted the overall experience. Because of the concert, they had a reduced menu, which was okay but not a great variety (only burgers or pizzas). Drinks were also a bit of a problem as their QR code wasn’t working to order online and the queue for drinks was a very long wait. Drinks were also personally overpriced for being served wine in a plastic beer cup. If you’re only looking for some chips and a couple of drinks, then I guess it’s okay.

Almost £7 for a burger (no chips or salad included) and this is what my child was served.

Nice variety of food options for a range of diets but took forever to get our food. It was very busy though.

It's lost its charm since the refit,it's smaller but looks a little cheap. I can't say I've had a great experience,every single time I ask for cask ale it's not a full pint,they're happy to top up but it's not the point It can be hard to understand if it's table service or acceptable to go to the bar. Visited on a fri night,10.30 - it was dead which is ashame. It's no longer a microbrewery either, but they do have cask ale

Since the refurbishment I feel that it has gone downhill. Music very loud. Food nothing to write home about and choice very limited. Service poor. Microbrewery has gone which is a real shame. Not a visit I intend to repeat, sadly. Used to be a marvellous little gastro pub.
