I often come here for lunch and have never been disappointed. Today for a change, I had ham. egg and chips. Best I've had anywhere. Three slices of beautiful dry ham, two perfectly cooked friend eggs and a plateful of delicious crispy chips. I couldn't eat it all. I suppose the potion sizes are aimed at the men as they are massive. All the food is very reasonably price, with a discount for members.

I went into to get something to eat when I got in. I was welcomed the chief who there he was very friendly. We always order from here. You guys are the best. The guy who worked there gave me a drink for free and he said that is on me which is him . I would recommend this place.

I visited The Waggon & Horses last night with a group of 11. It was my first visit, although others in the group had been before. On arrival, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The woodburner was alight, creating a lovely, warm, and cosy atmosphere that made us feel at home. Once seated, our pre-ordered food arrived quickly. I had the lasagne, which was delicious, homemade, and very cheesy – the perfect lasagne. It came with chips, salad, and coleslaw, all in very generous portions, for a very reasonable price of £15.95. Several in our group had the Beef Stroganoff, which looked amazing, had very large portions, and was 100% homemade. Not a single complaint from anyone at the table! Somehow, we all managed to squeeze in dessert too (all homemade). I had the Toffee and Pecan Pavlova – it was so sweet and creamy, I couldn’t fault it. The staff remained friendly and attentive throughout our meal. This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last. The Waggon & Horses is everything a good local country pub should be and more. I’m looking forward to returning in the spring/summer to enjoy the beer garden.
