I want to say how amazing the staff are at this coffee shop. My son was having a bad day on Friday and went into the cafe to ask for some help. Staff member Anna was there to help and support my son when he needed it. She rang my phone and wasn't able to get through and even gave him money for a bus. I went into today to explain to them what had happened and thanked them for their help and wanted to pay them back but they said no need which is so kind of them.

Staff always really friendly, particularly the man that works here. Really nice. Great coffee. Really nice place to go on our walks in Alresford. Highly recommend- much nicer than the other rude and pretentious coffee shops in Alresford like Caricoli.

A great find in Alresford! Lovely calm, peaceful coffee shop, comfy chairs. Nice atmosphere. Lovely service from gentleman behind the counter. Super coffee in substantial mugs and a teacake the size of a plate! Great find while visiting this lovely town...

Coffee #1 in Alresford is a typical, modern coffee shop. It is roomy and comfortable, the furnishings and decor are very smart, and the service is friendly and efficient. More to the point - the coffee is very good. As expected, they also serve a good selection of cakes, sandwiches etc. and this is a very good example of the genre.

Called into here for a morning coffee & couple of tasty treats of Welsh cakes & chocolate Croissant. This dog friendly coffee shop is in an old Barclays Bank & it has been converted with enormous taste, the safe is still there along with the old bank manager’s room. It was busy when we arrived, but quickly secured a clean & tidy table, looks like the staff keep it clean & tidy throughout. Staff were very helpful, especially the very friendly manager, who was happy to help with my coffee #1 app. Coffee is great here, nice & strong. Food that we had was also enjoyable & tasty. Top marks to the team at coffee #1. If we’re in the area again will definitely revisit.

This is the most friendly and most professional coffee shop I have ever known, and I’m in my 60’s. Every member of staff looks you in the eye, and smiles. Every drink, hot or cold, is dispensed with a smile, even personal requests from customers. It’s great!!

Coffee #1 in Alresford is my favourite coffee shop. The staff are friendly and warm. This in part is due to the Store Manager, Jose, who demonstrates first hand what excellent customer service is all about. Most recent visit was today and I think I was served by Chloe, who was brilliant. I can’t believe the review left by James in Feb 2022. I’ve never seen any of the staff ever be rude, no matter how busy the staff are. I’m a big believer that you get out what you put in. Treat people with respect.

Popped in for a cool drink today. Didn't like the iced latte, the manager was really kind and gave me an iced mocha which was lovely. Would visit again.

After meeting my wife here, who had already bought a coffee, I ordered a coffee and a toasted panini and then went and sat with my wife and started reading a newspaper looking forward to my order. A few minutes later a waiter stormed up to our table and rather aggressively just said "You can't just walk away like that". Completely confused, I asked him what he meant and again rather aggressively he said "you need to tell me if you want your panini hot or cold". Sadly, after this rather unfriendly attack, all I wanted to do was get out of the place so I cancelled my order at which point he said "you are welcome to exit the building at any time". It may have been a misunderstanding on my part but that was no excuse for his extraordinary rudeness. We have had many enjoyable times in this place in the past but will not be returning whilst he works there. Shame !!

Having walked around the town and the river trail it was nice to pop in for some hot drinks in what is a cosy ex bank I think. Good hot choc and a nice pot of loose leaf tea with friendly staff and a busy vibe atmosphere. Some nice cakes on display too!

My first time coming in here and I was not expecting the food to be so tasty! So much choice and not the bland food you always think of when you think of vegan choices. Pleasantly surprised.

Popped in today with family for hot chocolate. The place is always busy as it has a good reputation. BUT, there has clearly been a change in staff and they simply weren’t coping with the volume of customers. The queue was out the door and the stress seemed evident, with one staff member being quite brusque with us when serving. The table we found hadn’t been cleared of the previous’ empties. They did sort this out for us relatively promptly. After ordering I had to ask for an additional loyalty stamp (according to the card it’s per hot drink, not visit) for the two hot chocolates I ordered and when the drinks arrived they weren’t as hot as either of us would have liked. Didn’t make a fuss, as by then the queue was out the door again and I didn’t want to stress out the already stressed manager. Next thing we knew, two younger male staff members sauntered out of the kitchen like they had all the time on the world, whilst the manager was still clearly running around like a headless chicken. Unfortunately the choc chip scones we had were dry. I think they had previously been frozen. To be fair we were offered these to be heated up for us but declined. Biggest issue is clearly training the new staff who aren’t pulling their weight. I feel disappointed as the staff used to be super here, efficient and friendly and it used to have a lovely atmosphere, even when busy. Unfortunately I feel there were neither here today. Really hope you’re able to iron these issues out. :)

We both chose the fish & chips from the menu, and we were not disappointed: the fish was tasty, the batter lovely and crisp, and the chips just as good. The March Hare is very much a "local", catering for those who live locally. They have Sky Sports on the TV, a pool table too, and any background music is quiet, letting you hear what others are saying. There was a family there playing dominos together too. Under new management as of last August, the place has been 'spruced up', and has a pleasant contemporary feel to it. It was quiet when we were there, and had a nice chat with one of the staff, who explained that the pub is one in a small group of 3 or 4 in the area (Hursley / Colden Common). If you've not been there for a while, why not give it another try?
