Colins at the Lighthouse in Tendring

we thought we would give this fish and chip shop a go, but we will not be going back the fish should have been medium more like small and batter was very hard like it been sitting around for a while, not freshly cooked..The chips were also a small portion and loads of very small hard bits. We have eaten fish and chips in loads of places around the country and this was one of the worst and the most expensive,

Came here on way back from Beach. Shop empty about 3pm. Ordered small cod and chips £9.70!! Got back and when opened just a tiny piece of fish with what were supposed to be chips. Dried up started life the night before I guess. Inedible. Tried to phone 6 times no one answered so took it back to shop and got my money back. She also overcharged me because there was a lunchtime offer on same meal Plus a drink for about £6!! Will not be repeating that.

Had to leave a review for this place. On holiday from Stoke and this is by far the best fish and chips I have ever had. Had the smaller portion at £6.25 for a fish and chips and more than enough. Absolutely brilliant thick gravy, the lady is from Sheffield so knows her stuff when it comes to gravy. Fish cakes and fish incredibly crispy. Curry sauce proper chip shop stuff. 10/10 all round. Would recommend!!

Visiting the area & looking for fish and chips - not disappointed - great food & friendly service. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Great selection of gluten free options and all done in separate fryers. Wife had the chicken bites which was a real treat and really enjoyed them. Will return again if we are ever in Clacton again

Called in whilst on holiday and ordered fish n chips. All freshly cooked to order. Reasonably priced and great service too. Highly recommended
