Was very impressed with the food and her customer service Super friendly women would 100% come again Thank you Sian for accommodating my allergies and for my birthday lunch and was even training a lovely girl and was only her second shift who also did great! We stayed here for 2 nights just before New Year & we both agreed we will return next time we go to London. All the staff were welcoming & friendly, despite being really busy both evenings. The food is great too, I highly recommend the Fish & Chips! Breakfast was also good & again we couldn’t fault the service. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Atmosphere lovely a cosy warm welcome & good food

Lovely pub that we picked as we had dogs and was meeting family half way. Nice and Christmassy. Crackers on the table. Staff was friendly and attentive. Ordered the lamb shank, little dry but overall meals were good. Easily parked, disabled toilets and nice atmosphere with its history and fires roaring.

We have frequented the Colney fox several times throughout 2024 all of which have been an enjoyable experience with friendly staff, good tasty food and an efficient service. Based on that We decided to book a table for 6 for Christmas dinner. The starters and mains were all very tasty and portioned well, resulting in 6 empty plates for both courses! However, the deserts let the meal down slightly with soft crackers and dry cheese and unpleasant tasting cream accompanying the meringue. Both of these issues should and could have been avoided if the crackers had not been refrigerated and added to the cheese board just prior to serving, and the cream being refrigerated and added to the meringue just prior to service. Overall we had an enjoyable afternoon.

came to the colney fox last minute with my partner for drinks and dinner and was pleasantly surprised! the food was lovely and the atmosphere was wonderful - made so by our server Sam who brightened our night! She was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed before we even asked. Thank you Sam!!

Nice pub . Very slow service we waited over 1.30mins for just mains obviously we understand its Christmas time so it's busier than usual but if this had been relayed by the staff all would of been fine but we weren't given any communication and it wasn't till they were asked if there was an issue did any food eventually arrive. Food was nice. Pub was pleasant. Timings could use some work .

What a cosy and atmospheric pub! A highlight was definitely the service provided by Sam. Despite saying she was a new employee you would’ve never had known. She was super attentive and made our experience at the Inn well worth the visit. I can’t wait to be back, especially if she’s serving us. During a busy time at the Inn the food was delivered efficiently and tasted amazing too.

Been twice recently and both times had good service and really tasty food. Big pub, accommodates lots of people and has rooms to stay for approx £100 a night. Parking - need to add your numberplate to not have to pay.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the Colney Fox. The food was excellent and Georgina looked after us impeccably.

Sunday lunch, seated and asked what we'd like to drink. A Bloody Mary please. Sorry we don't do those- we can give you a vodka and some tomato juice to mix it with. I was really surprised! A rural pub, and apparently not one member of the bar staff could assemble a Bloody Mary - almost a British staple for hangovers but not this time! Then looked at the drinks list - great we'll have two Malbec in 175m glasses as it says on the menu. Response again a NO - sorry can't do that we're only selling by the bottle as stocks are low. Ok moving on to ordering food, I asked whether it was possible to have a hamburger which comes as advertised w/lettuce, toms, onion, pickle and mayo BUT, with out the other toppings of smoked bbq brisket, bacon, Monterey jack cheese, cheese sauce, mayo and onion rings £17.95. They said yes but they would have to charge the fixed price. So with a hat trick of no's plus a display of such an unobliging attitude by Megan the manager, who didn't really seem to care, we got up and left. Not recommended at all in any level.

We came on a very busy sat night and had some food in the restaurant. Luca our server was fantastic and also I didn’t catch her name but she had long red hair and tattoos very friendly bubbly women. Highly recommend the colney fox! We will be returning

Ollie was awesome. This guy was amazing!! A true inspiration and made the atmosphere great. Attentive when required but enough space to enjoy company and food. A great balance!!

Service was very good, and place was quite nice. Food (Sunday Roast) was overcooked - especially the meat.

Lovely surroundings, easy to park. Food come up quick, but was very average. Trio roast was ehat appeared to be frozen potatoes, the veg was VERY hard. The beef had grissle going through it. Overall i didnt enjoy the meal. Its £21 for a roast dinner and I have eaten much better for less money elsewhere. Staff were very nice.

Wonderful venue. Wonderful food presentation and just looking at the food makes you hungry. Well looked after by Georgina. My only comment was the sticky toffee pudding was slightly dry and the toffee sauce would be nice if it was sweeter.

We visit this pub for a drink after a shopping trip to Colney Fields. The building has great character, open fires, stone floors....today we were served by Sam (young). Sam cleared a just vacated table of many glasses, wiped it down, lit a candle for extra atmosphere and chatted briefly. All of which added to our experience. Attentive, well trained staff a bonus in this hostelry.

Georgina looked after us and suggested the their classic burger. She was on point and fun to talk to. I never get to eat burgers out anymore as every place seems to serve brioche which I hate! I was told it came with a proper bun so my wife and I took the recommendation. OMG… the best burger I have had in years! Cooked perfectly. Literally amazing! The chief , I’m told was called Barney. Huge respect to you Sir! Second fantastic meal here. What a great place!

Ordered the ribeye steaks medium rare and chips.. Unfortunately the steak arrived was a bit cold and cooked medium to well done.. The gravy was also mild. The triple fried chips were hot and tasted like it had just come out of the fryer. It was crispy and on the outside and starchy on the inside.. Maybe I'm just unlucky or the chef has left the steak to rest too long but I enjoyed the chips more then the cold and chewy steak.

Was told by family that the pub done a great roast dinner & yes it was very good indeed & I am not from this area at all so was surprised it was so good.

The roast dinner was very nice. The dissapointment was the desserts. I had a brownie with vanilla ice cream T just under £9. This arrived with the smallest amount of ice cream melting on top of the brownie, this amounted to less than half a scoop. Yet the trio of icecream is less than £6 and has proper scoops. pretty poor show here on the value for money scale.

Went to the colney fox pub for dinner with family on Friday and had a really lovely meal there, the atmosphere was great. The vegetarian options were very nice and the service from our waitress Erin was impeccable. She was friendly professional and looked after us very well. Had a really nice evening out and would recommend 👍

Very cosy pub to spend a Saturday/Sunday lunchtime hour. Had a lovely lunch time meal there which we enjoyed. The mains we had were absolutely delicious and clearly a winner. The fish and chips and the steak especially were really good! The kitchen though was let down by the starters…the three we tried were quite disappointing. Tiny portions, cheap fried food, and generally felt very sub par so I would encourage the establishment to look into their starters menu. Overall vibe and ambience of the place was alright. Very lukewarm, the tables are quite cramped, there was no music playing in the background so could get very loud when families with very excitable children were making a mess of the place.

Our server, Adam was a cut above most of the restaurant staff I've had in years. Knowledge of the menu. Perfect timing and superb "manners" (if that's the right things to say). Could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you all. FYI. The food was top notch!

The staff at The Colney Fox are all very lovely and helpful with a situation I needed help with. Sian was very helpful and friendly. Also stayed for a bite to eat and the food was spot on. Would definitely recommend this place
