A group of 6 of us went here for an evening meal prior to a wedding in the area and had a fantastic meal. The restaurant was in walking distant to our hotel, the staff were great and the food was lovely. Based on our experiences we would all totally recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.

We had been to this restaurant a few years ago under previous ownership so thought we would try again for family Christmas meal. It was poor. We would not visit again. Cocktails are £9.50 and are small. The menu has a good range of choice. It is expensive - £30 for a Turkish kebab meal. The food was poor. There was not much eaten. The pasta dishes were average and produce used in it not great quality. The calzone were flat and not as expected. It was more like a folded bought in pizza. Pizza was stodgy and again the base is not nice. Service team were nice and welcoming but there was a lot of standing really close to the table to see if they could clear in an awkward way. At one point we were given business cards for nail salon which was weird. Sadly we left disappointed and hungry. We would not recommend sorry.,

First time here, travelled to Scunthorpe for a show. Food and service wonderful; try the lobster ravioli; superb! We will definitely be returning,

The food was very good but after ordering, it took over an hour for our food to come. Excuses were made because of some people apparently pre-ordering meals! This meant we were pushed to the back of the queue. I don't care that some people pre-ordered, I expect my meal to be with me within 30 mins especially as the food is expensive. All in all it has put us off going again.

Myself and my wife have been several times and never had a bad meal. The food is always fantastic and the staff brilliant. We really can't fault this place at all. We will definitely be back in the near future!

No carbonara for a start. Then the garlic bread base cheap take away pizza base. The lasagne came on its own with no salad, chips, garlic bread or anything and cost £16! Everywhere I go, you get some kind of side! Extortionately expensive for well below average food. Will never go back.

The food is very good. I recommend the tortellini, callsoni, and lasagna. The staff are very friendly and are good at explaining the dishes if you have any questions. The restaurant is well decorated and very chic. The dishes are all £10-15 but really worth it. The only thing that can be improved is having a children's menu (which there isn't). Otherwise it's worth it.

We booked last minute and were not disappointed. The service, food and value were excellent. Would highly recommend.

been here quite a few times over the last few years and whatever dish I’ve had has always been superb . Great service with friendly staff . I had the steak with Parma ham and a creamy sauce and it lovely . Perfectly cooked flavoured veg with it also . My mum had lamb tofte which she loved also . Highly reccomend

We visited recently and we were not disappointed, a wide selection of meals to choose from and a few turkish meals on there also. Defo a must if you’re in the area.

Had such a lovely evening meal there on Saturday evening. Order the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection. The service was great, always checking if we needed anything and food delicious. We even treated ourselves to a dessert!! We shall be back in the near future!

It’s a Turkish owned italian restaurant so you may find couple of Turkish foods too in the menu. Normally they are closed on mondays but we were lucky that we found them while going to another restaurant so we were really happy for our choices. Margarita was nice, Turkish Chicken Skewers was fantastic. The only thing I can criticize is prices can compete with London. It seemed a little expensive to us. Everything else was perfect. We will definitely come again if we pass by.

We went for Valentines meal and the service and food were out of this world. The lobster ravioli was exquisite. The only issue we had was a rowdy table of females nearby whose language was out of order for the occasion. We don't hold the restaurant or staff accountable for this though. They were professional, courteous and excellent throughout.

I took my father-in-law for an 'early bird' dinner and had a very pleasant evening. Decent choice of Italian dishes (without being overwhelming), with a couple of Turkish specialities too! Not the cheapest place in town, but good value as the place is immaculate, the owner (Murat) and his team very friendly and the meal fresh and tasty. Non-alcoholic beers were available, which was great as I was driving back to Yorkshire. Highly recommended.

This is little Gem in Scunthorpe We haven’t been to Colosseo for a long time and we were not disappointed. There has been an update to the decor from the one o remember so it has more of a modern feel it now. The food and the service were second to none, all the staff very attentive, anything we needed was no trouble. The food was outstanding. We shall %100 return Thanks

At very short notice we managed to get a table for 13 people in a group to celebrate my son’s 16th Birthday. Obviously with 13 of us there was a good cross section of the menu and everyone in the group thought the food was fantastic. From Pizzas to traditional Lasagna. Then the fusion of Turkish dishes to complement the excellent menu. The staff are very attentive and friendly and did everything possible to make us feel welcome. Then in terms of value for money, most of us had starters then at least two drinks and a main, a bottle of wine and a bottle of Prosecco and the bill came in just under £50 per head including service charge, which I fully support. A great dining experience, great service and I would definitely recommend a visit.

Used to be a regular (for many years) with previous owners but due to difficult personal circumstances we hadn't been for 6 months. Food was lovely but shocked to find a service charge for a Saturday lunch time added to our bill, which unfortunately we didn't see until we got home. No mention on lunch time typed menu. Also aware that everyone has to learn but having their young son (maybe 12-13) serve us who I had to guide for the right cutlery and ask for sugar and milk seemed a little unfair considering the charge. A little disappointed as it made an impromtu lunch expensive, it was unexpected as we never had this before, and it wasnt brought to our attention therefore we felt we had been over charged.

A friend asked if they could possibly do a calzone, i get this isn’t on the menu and maybe they don’t do alterations and he accepted the no response. However when the pizza arrived it was clear to see why it couldn’t be done. Pre bought bases is not what you expect from an Italian restaurant it just screams laziness.

We went for a New Year’s Eve meal, and I have to say this Italian Restaurant is excellent the Food was amazing, and the staff were very professional and polite. I would highly recommend the Lobster Ravioli. My Only Comment would be they have a Mandatory Service Charge added to the Bill which I totally disagree with as this should be subject to how your service is and not forced, you can always ask for it to be removed but I would prefer. This is added irrespective of how many are in your party.

This restaurant is outstanding. Everything was faultless. The food was out of this world. The venue itself is pretty, very clean and well maintained. The staff were great. The cocktails are a must try, delicious. I have eaten here twice this weekend and I cant wait to return! One visit was with my partner and the other a works do with 13 of us and everyone had the same high opinion.

I’m writing this after visiting for dinner with friends. The food was great and generally have no complaints about it. The garlic bread was very nice especially the chilli one. Mains were lovely and the waiting time wasn’t too long. After reading a bad review about service I was unsure on what to expect but I was honestly blown away! Our waitress Lily is a credit to colosseo. Nothing was too much hassle for her even when the restaurant was clearly busy. Lily was well spoken and extremely accommodating as well as polite. A total contrast to the another review I have seen on here! The service was quick and a combination of great food and even better service meant we will certainly be returning in the future. 100% recommend

Food - absolutely gorgeous and full of flavour. Immaculate presentation. Only down point is the garlic bread is expensive for what it is and the chicken skewers in the festive menu should have come with roasted vegetables but they did not. Drinks - cocktails are awful and too expensive for the poor quality. They can’t seem to make an espresso martini properly (and burnt the coffee) or a mojito. Surroundings - festive clean and relaxing Service - the waiters were very polite and accommodating. Waitresses not so much - 3 of our group ordered soft drinks which never arrived from the blonde waitress - but they didn’t have any trouble trying to add them to our bill! Speaking of the bill - check your receipt !! they tried to charge us for 3 cokes which we only had 1. They also added multiple desserts which we did not have. By challenging the receipt they went back and re-did it which resulted in £20-30 of stuff we didn’t have being removed. The surcharge was in the £20’s but due to the issues we had we told them to take it off.

First time visiting this restaurant, will definitely be going again. Great tasty food and great service too

Poor service and expensive ie £10.25 for 6 small garlic mushrooms £4.90 for a Diet Coke the pizza was average and not very tasty, also a service charge of 10% for very slow service I would not recommend

This has always been one of our favourite Italian restaurants in the Scunthorpe area for many years. We knew Coni & Carlos were selling up & we’re saddened to think of losing this fantastic dining experience. But to our amazement the new owners have not disappointed us, in fact they have excelled in their new venture! On arrival we were warmly greeted and seated quickly. We opted for a bottle of Sauvignon blanc - totally delicious. Crab cakes for me & goats cheese fritter for my wife of 32 years💕 Both were to die for, fresh & flavoursome. Having realised the new owners are Turkish we were pleased to try their home additions to the specials board! My main was mixed Turkish skewers, my wife had the monkfish. Nice to know the bulk of their staff are from the previous owners too! Having delighted our way through the mains we finished the wine & chatted a while before deciding on a pudding- excited to see they still did the Amereto slices we both opted for them. Mine with ice cream, the othe with cream…….OMG - right choice too!😋 As the restaurant slowly cleared of diners we found ourselves the last to leave, giving us a chance to find a little more about the new owners, Murat & Emir, what great new hosts for this local gem of a restaurant, they asked our opinion on the food & service, both were fantastic & we cannot wait to return next weekend to try their lunchtime menus. Great work, looking forward to trying more Turkish treats along with the Italian choices.

Fantastic. I was apprehensive visiting since the new owners took over but had no reason to worry. They have continued the amazing work of the Catalano family. Attention to detail and high standard of food remains the same. A lovely family, very welcoming. They should be proud of their work.

Lovely food and friendly staff. We were seated a little bit late upstairs but that was because a previous group had stayed 2.5 hrs, and they had offered us the chance to be seated downstairs. Only slight complaint is that I would have liked a better choice of non-alcoholic drinks. Would definitely visit again.

This was honestly the best Italian that myself and partner have visited for years! We are so glad that Rachel fitted us in at such short notice. The food was absolutely delicious, and service amazing. We thoroughly recommend the exceptional garlic bread with tomato and pizzas, but I am sure that you’d be very pleased with anything from the menu.

Not sure about some of the reviews mentioning waiting time? We turned up on Friday evening with no reservation and was promptly seated upstairs, bar opened and soft background music ensued - which slowly started to fill up, we had complimentary bruschetta apperitiv which didn't take long, a small wait for starters/mains (as we wanted the garlic bread + fries alongside the main), I highly recommend the lobster ravioli, twas delicious😋. If you want fast food and a big choice of menu, then go to a fast food joint/large chain pub, if you want good food with a a select amount of well cooked tasty dishes, then visit here. Dessert was Amaretto slice - amazing. Good service, nice waiting staff. If I had to give any feedback, I would agree that a risotto option would be good and the garlic bread was a little bit over on this occasion but wouldn't stop me from returning as it was ideal for mopping up my pasta sauce. We had garlic bread to share, 2 mains, an alcoholic drink each and 1 dessert to share and it was a very reasonable £50!!!!!

Friendly, knowledgable staff who knew the menu inside out and were happy to accommodate for particular tastes. Food (esp steak) was cooked to absolute perfection. Everything was super tasty and well presented. Will absolutely be returning next time i am in the area!

We visited Colosseo, prior to seeing Dr Hook! We checked out their reviews and then decided we would book! A warm and friendly welcome and service with a smile, We haven’t eaten Italian, in what seems quite a while! Our starters they were moorish, goats cheese and potato fried in crumbs, Yum! With a ramekin of chilli sauce, which danced upon the tongue. Main course, that was Sea bass, selected from the Specials board, WOW, it was magnifico and was worthy of such applause! The restaurant filled up quickly, with couples of a certain age, All going to see Dr Hook and they too found Colosseo’s page! Colosseo’s Hostess was the mostess! I wish that I had asked her name, And if we ever revisit The Baths Hall, we’ll definately revisit Colosseo’s once again!

We visited recently to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Expectations were high as people had told us how good this restaurant is. Overall, we enjoyed our experience, but we had some issues. We were seated at 7pm and served a bottle of wine quite promptly. No food arrived until after 8pm. We were served a small bruschetta and then waited for our first course to follow. By the time that came, we’d been 90 minutes (give or take) with a bottle of wine and little food. We were there for 2 and a half hours, but a good chunk of that time was just sat at our table. The restaurant was busy, I get that, and service was friendly. Food was decent, albeit I would not have been surprised had I been informed it had just been baked by the surface of the sun! Wow, our dishes were unnaturally hot! The place could also do with some fans to cool the place down. As I said, food was good and we did enjoy ourselves here. I do think there is room for improvement, but wish this place all the best.
