Combe Garden Centre in East Devon

Second visit here and food is nice. Such a shame though that some of the cutlery was dirty and the plate was so obviously unclean! Dried on red food stains under my scampi and chips. No way this wouldn’t have been noticed. Sorry, not acceptable for the money paid

I came for a stop on way home to Brighton. A lovely cafe with really nice food & coffee. Staff were friendly & helpful. But if u have a dog with u the seating is in an enclosed area outside. Chairs were very comfy rattan sets with cushions. But it was very cold, the canvas covering at the end of the solid structure was flapping a lot in the wind & was distracting sometimes unnerving. This area desperately needs some patio heaters & something more permanent putting instead of the canvas. I’m sure in the summer it’s lovely. Really nice gift shop within the garden centre.

As couple we have been here for lunch many times , on this occasion we found the portion size to be mediocre, the jacket potato filling of beans and cheese was underwhelming for £10, and the fish and chips only just covered the plate in a single layer, the fish portion on the small side, there was more batter than fish, costing £16. On the plus side the busy staff were friendly and efficient.

Great service but very poor quality Sunday Roast. For £16.95 all we had was one slice of turkey, 3 roast potatoes., 3 small sprouts etc. When we asked if there were Yorkshire puddings we were informed they were only with the vegetarian option but we could pay an extra 50p for one! Service was speedy and girls serving were helpful. Not worth the money.

Really good tomato soup of the day, and reasonably priced. Really good service, quick even though it was busy. Will be back soon!

Love the menu but they need to think about quantities…..we had the avocado on toast and my friend had the eggs Benedict which was swimming in hollandaise sauce.Both were lovely but they are both rich dishes. Too much avocado and too much hollandaise it just ruined the breakfast and we both left feeling sick. A little will do you, especially with such rich ingredients x

We have just been to honiton Garden Centre for breakfast it was excellent all freshly cooked, the staff are so friendly we will definitely be coming back.

I took my elderly uncle for lunch. He ate scampi, chips & peas. When the portion arrived it was what you would expect as a main potion size ( unless you are a greedy person or someone who needs american sized main meals!) I had the beef lasagna. This was homemade & delicious. I can't wait to go back. I love this place!

Three of us visited today just to buy some compost and have a cup of tea and and a snack. We sat outside but had to go back inside again to order and pay. We ordered three teas and two cheese scones and a slice of cake. The lemon drizzle cake was ok but neither my wife or me could eat the scones as they weren’t cooked enough, still doughy inside. We called a waitress over, she said she was sorry, agreed with us, and said that she would take both our plates into the kitchen to let someone see the problem. She returned and said that the scones were ok, it was just the amount of cheese in them that kept them soft. Utter rubbish but it was obviously what she was told to say. They didn’t believe the customer so we won’t be back

We stopped off while driving down to Cornwall and we were greeted by very friendly staff. We enjoyed delicious cakes and coffees! We sat outside in the lovely outdoor seating area.

My wife and I regularly enjoy the excellent breakfast here, but this was the first time we’d met friends here for lunch. We all enjoyed our meals very much. The flatbreads are particularly good, my wife tells me. I can recommend the chips too. I think what makes the place so popular though is the cheerful and very friendly staff.

We visited the cafe for tea & cakes. Excellent service, good product. Perhaps seriously review the cordon at the entrance to the cafe. It really does smack of pomposity.

Very friendly, well stocked garden centre. On entry to the restaurant we were greeted by Tracey, it was so refreshing to be greeted by someone that obviously enjoys her job and making every visitors experience special.

This was our first visit after being told how wonderful it was! The seating area is lovely and spacious, the staff were friendly but the coffee was luke warm, the hot chocolate was watery and the coffee cake was so dry we didn't eat it, so disappointed after having great expectations!
