Comfortable Gill in Stockport

Fantastic little pub, great landlord, sadly found this little gem too late as it has now closed due to Stockports Green regeneration scheme.....bring back the Gill.

Love this place, Derek and June amazing owners. Shame it's being knocked down for the sake of a bus station, pub has been there over 100 years. Dad too see it go.

I only went in to order a taxi. Had to interrupt the guy behind the bar from watching TV. Bought a pint of carling that had the nasty taste that sad lines are not cleaned. I left it and waited for my taxi outside

Very friendly place , well managed

+Friendly backstreet style pub that has lovely landlord and landlady. They also have regular entertainment. -It was smoky.

Reasonable prices, absolutely amazing atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday. Little bit crowded , but that goes to show how good the place is

Having missed my train I came here for help on getting a taxi. I purchased one beer, on my card to be handed change? I did not ask for cashback! Also I was asked to withdraw cash for my taxi. The fare was 57.00 so I said 60. Then to be told they will give the money to the taxi man. Arriving home I was offered the 3 pounds change, I said keep it. Only yesterday I looked at my bank statement. £80 pounds was withdrawn from my account. So you helped yourself to 10 pounds of my money???? I tried calling the number advitersed and guess what it's non existent. I work in hospitatly and this is theft. I am now calling the police as I cannot get in touch. People be careful!!

This could be a great venue, but was empty when I visited, and had no karaoke on (the reason I visited in the first place). Hopefully this is just down to the current climate and if I visit again in the future I will have a more enjoyable time.

I arrived 2 hours before closing with my partner. The door was wide open so we assumed business as usual. However, the second we entered the bar the old landlord was telling us to get out. He was extremely rude, telling us we'd already missed last orders (2 hours before closing?!) and even gripped my arm to push me back out the door. Absolutely would NOT recommend!

Arrived two hours before closing the old man was so rude about terfing us out to the point he physically put his hands on my partner to escort us out telling us they were closed despite the bar being full of people still and the front door wide open.

Great pub, extremely clean and friendly, good selection of drinks. Well maintained pool table, small but well made smoking area out back,

Love this place!!! The landlord is a delightful Arsenal fanatic who loves his footy. The pubs cheese board is legendary and the condiments are top notch!! Bar games are encouraged and there is a vigorous card school with local rascally characters engaging in fierce banter which is a joy to watch. All in all the Comfy experience is a sight to behold and a life experience that must not be missed.

Small pub opposite the bus garage. Keg beer only. Often crowded.

Unusual pub/karaoke bar bereft of custom Nothing to say about this place really - we were the only people there and actually had to ask if it was open despite being peak time on Saturday night. We tried to drum up conversation with the landlord but he seemed disinterested. A real shame.

It has sofas and seems to be a nice pub but I was only in there for half an hour.

Clicky regulars pub. Not made to feel very welcome.
