The location and view are stunning, and the atmosphere is amazing. However, the experience was let down by the slow service from the kitchen. Our orders took an unusually long time to arrive, and we had to cancel the dessert after waiting for over an hour. I hope the management addresses this issue, as the place has great potential with better efficiency.

Excellent service. Warm welcome to fond farewell. Lunchtime menu to suit different appetites. £5-£12 sandwiches. £16-£18 full meals. Big portions, easily enough for a doggy bag. Very dog friendly, cuddles all round.

Was really pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. Food was great value and very tasty. I went for the Club Sandwich and was very pleased with the quality and size of the portion. Staff very friendly and nice modern surroundings.

We come for breakfast quite a lot, but we hadn’t been for a while as we thought it dipped slightly. We came New Year’s Eve morning and the American guy served us, and he was fantastic! Was a delight he was!! So friendly, quick service which was good. We will deffo come back much more now, due the him! Thank you for a great start to our NYE.

the food was really nice but the service was shocking. We had preordered our meals and when we arrived we were informed they were not available. Had an reservation at 3:30 and my party didn't leave till around 7ish, I had to leave before dessert (which what my group told me wasn't worth the wait). the staff were friendly but the service was very slow and sloppy. First time here but will be back. Nicely furnished, lighting just right. Service was good. The food was even better than looking forward to. Very good quality and everything was very tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed.

I love to pop in here on my circular walks. Always a warm welcome from the staff. Budweiser £4.90 a pint. Very nice 👍 it is too. Perfectly chilled.

Came with the Girls on Saturday 2nd and had a lovely lunch! Lovely surroundings, lovely interior and warm welcome. Food was lovely, drinks were flowing, staff attentive. We also took advantage of the 25% off offer in November too. Will be returning!

Attended a wedding, food really good, both lunch and evening. Drink prices reasonable.

Not somewhere we'd normally think about going but having heard rave reviews from our neighbours, off we went! The place is IMMACULATE inside, not one piece of the place looks tired or grubby. Absolutely spotless. The food was good, but lost points for the guacamole being far too lemony. The fish (fish and chips) was fairly bland. On the flipside the steak and blue cheese is lovely and the chips were pretty moreish. Plenty of good especially the friendly staff, but nothing outstanding enough to make regulars of us. It's all down to personal taste ultimately isn't it? Because the place itself is very professional.

Once again we have had a wonderful breakfast. We usually choose the pancakes and we are never disappointed. They are lovely. The taste, presentation and service is without fault. The staff, both front house and kitchen are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, along with the lovely atmosphere it makes for the perfect breakfast.

Food was lovely, service was awful waited at least 1 1/2 for the food for it to be wrong for one of the guests, host and servers did not tell us about the food delay. Would not dine here again.

A great first time experience! We received a warm welcome and were offered a choice of table. Our order was taken promptly and all served in good time. There is a great choice of drinks at the bar and the house wine was 'above par' (excuse the pun)! Food was lovely, really fresh and very good portion sizes. The decor is amazing and the staff are friendly yet professional. I've already recommended to family and friends and we will definitely return again soon. Food is expensive . Service is a little slow but our order had to be cooked . We sat in the enclosed lobby no tableclothes so it needs to up it's game before we go again.

The Cook House has been open for just over a year, and I have made multiple visits during this time. The establishment is beautifully designed and well-maintained, featuring a lovely terrace area that overlooks the grounds and provides outdoor seating. While I find the food enjoyable, I believe it could be considered somewhat overpriced. I have encountered inconsistencies with the menu; the quality and composition of the dishes can vary significantly depending on the chef on duty and the time of preparation. Additionally, I have experienced concerns with portion sizes. On one occasion, I ordered a steak that arrived cold and was accompanied by only nine chips. While I still enjoyed the meal, I feel the portion was inadequate given the £20 price point. Moreover, the menu changes frequently, which can leave returning customers disappointed if they are hoping to order their favorite dishes, which may not only be unavailable but could also come with a higher price tag. The bar is well-stocked, and the staff are responsive. The drinks are priced at a premium, which I find fair considering the quality of the venue. However, I was disappointed to discover that all the cocktails are pre-mixed and served from a bottle. Given the extensive selection of spirits available, I believe offering freshly made cocktails would enhance the overall experience. The majority of the staff are polite and friendly, although I have noticed disparities in workload. For instance, I observed a manager engaging with patrons for extended periods while the remaining floor staff appeared to be overwhelmed with their responsibilities. Furthermore, I have concerns regarding staff working prolonged shifts. It seems some employees are opening the venue with less than 11 hours between shifts, which raises legal and ethical issues. Having worked in the service industry for over a decade, I feel compelled to express that these shortcomings overshadow the otherwise appealing menu and the warm atmosphere of this local restaurant.

Visited yesterday (4/8/24) with 10 family members for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentative. We will definatley visit again very soon. Thank you to all.

The food and location were superb and would definitely come back for those but the massive stand out reason is the service. I am so sorry I didn’t get your names, I’m sure one was Mick (sorry if im wrong). You took my reservation , served the drinks, took our order, made us feel so welcomed and special, your colleague who brought the food to our table was also so lovely and attentive. You need to look after these guys before someone snaps them up, the service would not be better in any top end restaurant. Thanks for a wonderful experience and will be back very soon ☺️

Awful Sunday roast - cold, and yet burnt. Poor service (when we were finally served!) Had to seek out a waiter to take drinks order. Very disappointing as we’d heard some positive reviews.

Staff are always helpful and friendly. Make a fuss of our dog who loves it there. Relaxed atmosphere and great food! Nice to be able to take the dog with us.

We have been to this restaurant on a few occasions but tonight we found that the portion size on 2 of our meals were very small compared to past experiences. The price of them were quite expensive in regards to quality! The desserts weren't great, one was over dry and the other tasted burnt! A little dissatisfied overall😒

My granddaughter took us here for lunch 6 of us in total we all had something different but the food arrived at the same time for us all food and drinks were served with enthusiasm by all staff well done to everybody thank you . We will come back

Booked a table for a family birthday Sunday lunch. The lunches were basic but done very well. The sticky toffee pudding was top notch and definitely the star of the day. The staff were attentive and friendly. Can't go wrong really, with great parking facilities it's a great place to meet up and have some lunch.

We went for lunch one day . Lovely atmosphere and service and the food was delicious,I had the steak which was cooked perfectly . Already planning our next visit maybe try the breakfast .

We have eaten at the restaurant before and not been disappointed. The food, staff and the atmosphere have all been exemplary. Today was the first time we had breakfast at he restaurant. The food was very good and excellent value. Just some room for improvement in the service - the tea came without a spoon, no sauce was offered until I asked, we were not offered a choice on egg preference and the tea cup came with a small milk jug inside. I prefer my tea cup to be as clean as it was after it was washed not after other objects have been inserted.

10/10 Lovely and cosy, great atmosphere and great food. The staff went above and beyond and were so cheery and friendly nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a shepherds pie, burger and kids fish goujans. Food was hot and fresh. The veg had a perfect crunch the only criticism I have is I would have preferred a bit more gravy in the shepherd's pie but that could of been a personal preference. We cant wait to come back again soon.

Had Sunday lunch , the food was good quality unfortunately was only given a small amount of beef and when the vegetables arrived nearly 5 minutes later it was cold, service was friendly but there was a long delay between courses unfortunately.

We booked Cook House for breakfast with family and it did not disappoint.The menu had plenty of choice, with both savoury and sweet options. We all opted for the full english, which had all the classic components, freshly cooked. All washed down with tea and freshly ground coffees. The service was excellent too, with the friendly staff accomodating us with a pram no problem. The stylish interior gives the place a very modern, cosy feel. The whole place is finished to a high spec, even the toilets with great baby change facilities! We will definitely be back to try the evening menu and daily chef specials!

Excellent food and service, not to mention the spacious environment and relaxing ambience. The satay sauce for the fish and chips was a surprise and absolute delight. The cauliflower tampura was the very best and I recommend it to vegetarians. We pre-ordered one day before the dinner, and it made everything easier at the restaurant.

It's definitely worth a try. The only problem I had was that there wasn't any chicken or beef left for Sunday dinner at 3 pm. Also, the food came out without the vegetables, and I had to remind the waitress twice, and by the time it came, I finished my food. The atmosphere makes up for a lot with the music and fire, which was relaxing. I think if they could fix the service part, which is probably an easy fix, it could be 10/10. Also the price was reasonable.

We came for tea on a Monday & really enjoyed our meals. The kids menu had plenty of good options & the portions were good. The place is beautiful, with amazing views of the golf course, in a cosy setting. All the staff we interacted with were polite & friendly. We would definitely go back.

You have to book in advance if you want a table for meals. They have an outside area if you want to take advantage of the views, they also have blankets and heating overhead if you feel cold. Very clean venue, great atmosphere, nice people, drinks a bit pricey, but overall a great place to visit.

We ate here for the first time last night. The rooms have been tastefully furnished but unfortunately the service and food was very poor. Our one starter the onion bhaji was dry and over cooked. The main meals( Mediterranean kebabs and fish and chips) not very nice, with greasy chips and a very unimaginative kebab meal. Service was poor. The maitre de was pleasant but we waited ages for our drinks order, then an age for the menus so we could choose our meals, then I had to go to the bar to ask if we could have coffees! We also found it very noisy with golfers sat all around us just drinking. I suggest they separate people eating from those just having a drink. Not impressed I'm afraid, a shame as its in a lovely setting.

Called in whilst passing, lovely bar & restaurant, just opened on the ground floor a few weeks ago. Staff were extremely attentive but not over so, great menu, the food was excellent particularly the blue cheese & white wine sauce. Service, food, environment and staff was really good, can recommend, will return for Sunday Lunch.
