COSMO All You Can Eat World Buffet Restaurant | Derby in Derby

I always like visiting cosmo derby. One of our go to go buffet. In addition, one of the Filipino named Ferdi giving an excellent service!

Very nice and helpful waitress (Diya). Food was amazing and great atmosphere.

Just got home from eating as it was my granddaughter 1st birthday staff not very friendly food was cold so won't be coming back anytime soon

The staff were so well organised, very helpful and polite. We booked a table for 2 in advance and when we arrived we were sat at our tables within 5 mins. The toilets looked neat. Most of the food I ate was well flavoured to my taste buds and there were pepper sauces and chops available if I needed extra heat on my meals. There was a decent variety of intercontinental meals. I did see a lot of Africans during my stay at the restaurant so I think incorporating a simple but popular African meal like "jollof rice" in the menu, would be a good idea. I also hoped for some goat curry but didn't see that. I also think it would be good to add spoons to the cutleries on the table, for watery meals and soups etc Overall it was worth the money and I would definitely visit again if I get the chance.

Great food the first couple times around but then you realise the menu is always the same and you become tired of it. Other than that the food is good. Seating is very close together and crammed. That was the worst part for me. To many people crammed in at a time.

An all-you-can-eat restaurant :). Exotic dishes like a buffet. Desserts from cakes, fruit to ice cream. A friendly place to organize birthdays and larger gatherings for families and friends.

Food was hot and tasty. There's a very good variety of food. Staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and professional. Restaurant has amazing decor and atmosphere.

Came here the other week, some staff were very unfriendly, especially sid. When we got our food, it was not very warm and you could tell that the food had been sat there for awhile because the sauces were beginning to skin over, and a lot of the foods looked stale. No parking available. Not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. A friend had told me that they got food poisoning after eating here too. The atmosphere feels tense when around some staff, and when we were sat eating, the manager was speaking to one of the underage employees, she looked about 16, and was being very rude to her and the girl looked embarrassed and dissapeared for awhile. In my general opinion, It is an ok restaurant, abit overpriced for what it is and I think it should just be one set price for the whole week, not more or less depending on the day. The food is ok, should be more hot and cooked better. And the manager needs to treat staff better, a lot of staff quit after a month ,I have been told, because of how mentally draining the job is. Also, I want to praise Ferdi, he made the night much more enjoyable by making us feel welcomed, always having a smile on his face and kept checking up on us to ensure our experience was good. We didn’t tell him about our bad thoughts because he was very nice and didn’t want to put the burden on him. The drink deliveries take too long, and I think it’s ridiculous how they are making 16 year olds carry a tray full of drinks to a table across the restaurant and they look terrified. I witnessed the manager have ago at one girl because she said she couldn’t carry a the tray full of martinis and the cocktail jug, she looked terrified, also the drinks are not even nice the alcohol is watered down and so expensive for what it is, and i’m pretty sure it was an underage employee making drinks that night. Additionally, It’s ridiculous and illegal that they make all employees share tips, the tip is left specifically for the server who made a great impression to those people. Hope they ACTUALLY listen to my review and better there ways. I hope someone takes legal action.

I had an absolutely terrible experience at Cosmo. I had been a customer, spending the weekend dining here, but my last visit was appalling and unacceptable. As I was leaving, I was falsely accused of stealing simply because I had tissue napkins in my bag. The staff refused to let me leave and started recording me, treating me like a criminal in front of everyone. Despite my explanation and the fact that I was completely innocent, they refused to listen. What makes it worse is that after the ordeal, there was no apology, no acknowledgment of their mistake, and no effort to make amends. This is not how loyal customers—or any customers—should be treated. I will never return to this restaurant, and I strongly urge others to think twice before visiting a place that treats people so poorly.

Review of COSMO Restaurant I recently visited COSMO restaurant with friends, attracted by the idea of an all-you-can-eat buffet for £20 per person. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The biggest disappointment was the lack of consideration for halal dietary requirements. There were very limited halal choices, and there was no clear labeling to indicate which items were halal. To make matters worse, many non-halal meats, including pork, were cooked together, raising significant cross-contamination concerns. In addition, the overall quality of the food fell far short of what we had anticipated based on the restaurant’s reviews. Most dishes lacked flavor and freshness, which was quite disappointing. That said, I must commend the dessert section, which was beautifully presented and offered a variety of options that were delicious and well-prepared. The sweets were the only highlight of an otherwise unsatisfactory experience. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially for Muslims or anyone with specific dietary requirements. The lack of clarity on food labeling and cross-contamination issues make it a poor choice for those who need to ensure their meals align with their values or dietary needs.

It's a nice place to be in Derby. Nice attendants. Central location. Attendants were polite and helpful, checking on us to see we were okay and getting what we needed. Cleanliness is taken seriously as they clear up the tables and the floor at intervals to ensure no dirts around.

Lots to eat. This restaurant can be good for groups of people celebrating things.

Hi guys it was our 25th anniversary dinner and we really enjoyed it as usual. Ferdi made us feel welcome. Cosmos is a great experience.

Absolute shambles. Had a table prebooked for 18.15 and had to stand in the reception for over 30 minutes. We arrived at 18.10 checked in and was told there'd be a 10 minute delay, it was over 30 minutes. And then there was very poor table service, dirty plates piling up, no staff to clear away, they also put a strict time limit on our table that's usually 2 hours but they only gave 1.5 hours not allowing for the 30 mins we had lost. A member of staff eventually fetched the manager for us who rudely walked away while we were trying to explain poor service. When he eventually did come back he offered 2 free drinks to share between a table of 8. The floor staff were incredibly rude. One even walked straight past me and then walked immediately infront of my path and stopped. I nearly dropped my plate. And she didn't even acknowledge what she had done. We will never be returning. As a restaurant it's there duty to ensure when a table is booked it is ready for the diners arrival. Cosmo should be embarrassed.

Went for my daughter’s 18th birthday and had a lovely time. The place is spotless and the staff are friendly and super efficient at clearing plates. Lots of choices for food do even the picky eaters. The food tasted lovely, my only criticism is that the food is not warm enough and some of the meats were quite cold. Apart from that we had a lovely time and left very full. Youngest loved the chocolate fountain and ice cream machine xx

Sid the manager was very rude and not helpful. Ling wait for table and when we got in the manager Sid was argumentative! Ferdi was vedy helpful and all the waiters so nice

For the price, It's very worth it. Everything is tasty and delicious. The place is clean and the ambiance is quite relaxing. Will definitely come back to satisfy my cravings.

Ruined 40th birthday Meal for my daughter. We were part of thirteen and were not allowed to go to our table until all of our party wewe present, we made up from 4 groups. Paying was delayed because of four payments, delay us from a 7.00 table to about 7.45. No fresh food bought out after 8.00pm and then rushed because the buffet finished at 9.00pm.

Used to love coming but do feel its not as good as it used to be, wasn't as much variety in food as there used to be , the staff need to smile more I get they are busy but it costs nothing to smile

The ambience was good and quite different from the Cosmo in London. I really enjoyed the variety of food and the freshly made Salmon was a banger as well as the chocolate fountain. Thanks to Ferdi who ensured we were well looked after.

This was a very good buffet. There were a lot of juicy, delicious cuisines like Chinese Indian Japanese and Italian. Its very good if you are looking for a tasty filling meal at a buffet in Derby!

They put us (4 adults) next to crying kids, there was tons of space to put kids in a different space from groups with only adults, I told a staff about hard bits in the rice, I think nothing was done, I didn't see anyone cleaning the big spoons even when they were very greasy

It's nice clean warm atmosphere and self-service service. but still, they were staff everywhere who were nice and friendly. It's very busy on Saturday night.

A smaller selection of savoury dishes than other COSMO restaurants and fewer options than I remember there being previously - this could be due to going for lunch instead of dinner. The food was still good though. Accessibility is lacking for those requiring it and pushchairs need to be left by the entrance.

Food is nice with a great buffet selection but it is rather pricey. It is self service and you pay before you eat.

If you want to try new foods it's perfect. The staff are lovely. Only downside was people just let kids run around like it's a playground. Your carrying hot food and have to be careful that a child doesn't run into you.

I went to cosmo last weekend and unfortunately myself and my friend ended up with food poisoning! I’ve been chasing cosmo for a refund since and it’s becoming impossible to contact them!
