Costa Coffee in Solihull

Great little Costa Coffee shop although it can get busy with "locals" (group of older men who gather every morning...😉) and the HS2 men in the early hours of the day....like 7.00ish Staff coped well and smiled away throughout. Well done Summer and Leah who seem to be the heart and soul of the place. Keep up the good work.

Much improved since my previous visit

Service was appalling. We had toasties and I asked for a clean knife was given the option 3 times. The assistant said they were stained but they were covered in food. She then replied will that one do? Just rude how was that my fault spending £18 and wanting clean utensils. Later she also made a point of saying g something to her colleague so I could hear.

We come into costa regularly and spend around £20 per visit if not more (I have one coffee each morning too) and drinks are mostly good. However, today we visited and my daughter (4 years old!) turned her iPad up due the coffee machine noise and my husband and I immediately turned it down. So I was shocked when a staff member named Megan approached me in a stand off ish manner telling me to be mindful of other customers, I appreciate this but I had turned it down and the attitude in which I was approached was unnecessary and spoilt the experience for the family. To add Leah was very helpful and it’s a shame that the experience had to be marred.

Can get noisy in here and service is slow with wait for drinks/food staff are very friendly and pleasant

Parking outside the front of this small Costa so easy to get in and out with ease. The usual Costa menu and friendly staff.

Have to be honest. I used to visit Balsall Common Costa regularly when I lived locally. I returned today to find the most untidy and dirty Costa I have ever visited. There was crumbs and rubbish all over the customer side of the floor and this was 915 am so clearly had not been done at all. Chairs strewn everywhere. The counter top was filthy with drink stains all over it and the coffeee machine also disgusting. There was rubbish all over the staff side of the floor. The toilets were disgusting and the place where the sugar etc is stored was empty and filthy. The female member of staff was outside the shop on her phone and the male behind the counter looked as if he had been dragged through a hedge backwards. I will never visit Costa in Balsall Common again.

Good coffee and good service. What more could you ask for?

Dire version. High prices, poor service bar one guy who goes out of his way. Can't be bothered to give you cutlery or napkins. Don't even shout when your drink in coffee is ready. Done with this place as most locals seem to be. Hopefully get replaced with something more useful.

Shame about the wobbly tables spilling my coffee. Tried 3 tables all giving the sameproblem, surly the staff would have noticed it when clearing tables. Shat a shame.

My experience the tea spoon was dirty the crocks wasn't removed.

Standard Costa but I have a my own mug and didn't receive my two green beans on the rewards app, as the person serving me seemed very distracted and I hadn't noticed they were missing. Lesson learnt! But otherwise ok, it was a takeaway order.

What has happened to the coffee! Ordered an extra shot still very weak. Looks like they are cutting back the beans.

Love the coffee. I have alternative milk which they have a good range of. Could do a few more vegan options.

Really friendly staff who brought flat whites to table which were the best Costa ones we've taste. Small outlet but well worth a visit.

Lovely place and friendly service

Staff are pleasant but shop seems under manned. Often long queues/waiting time especially if you order food which can take a large chunk out of your lunch break.

My granddaughter loved her mini costa milky with marshmallow, good idea.

Lovely little shop, calm, quiet enough to enjoy a bit of alone time. Lovely staff, always great items and clean. Perfect little pit stop treat.

Love Costa but disappointed that they seem to have maintained prices of tray bakes whilst reducing the size. Definitely worth visiting.

Great place to relax and have coffee

White horse pub being closed we asked Google for nearby coffee shop and she directed us here service was polite and quick and staff wore masks. It was a lovely sunny day, a bit too bright to sit in the window. I got a free coffee with my Costa card rewards.

Disappointingly slow service on this occasion, despite there apparently being several staff around, only one trainee was preparing drinks (slowly) hence a long queue.

Not impressed by balsall common costa, they took a complete order Inc cold drink , but did not mention that they had no ice and this was unavailable at the time of order. Person in charge could hardly contain her indifference , and could not offer anything wise other than generic bottle of juice. Also was told I could not cancel and refund could not be done, until I insisted (prob as 2 x police officers were behind me in queue). Might be an idea to get staff on a customer service course?

It is their usual coffee shop the staff are very polite and well mannered the service is good the major problem with the shop is it is in the centre of the village parking is free if you can find a space and you have to be very careful getting in and out of the spaces. Parking can be a little chaotic.

A nice Costa, they noticed we were sitting outside with a dog and came out with a bowl of water a nice touch greatly appreciated 😊.

Really good. This Costa actually gave me the proper sized cup for a flat white for once which was brilliant. You have to ask though. And the coffee is as always, very tasty

Although I had the app telling me I had a free coffee I was only offered a mini coffee, although I was only 5p short for a small latte coffee & I was getting 2 coffees I couldn't pay the difference. Why advertise "Have a drink on us" when you can only get a small childs size portion!!! I left without buying anything because I considered it a con.

Really helpful staff who assisted me with my choice, as I had not had any of the chilled drinks before, couldn't ask for more.

HORRIBLE, there was a deal of ice tea and ice coffee, so I went there to get that but they had no Ice ! Normaly I can get a ice tea with no ice for 50p extra, but they couldn't do that today. Also the other week I got a mint frostino, it was watered down so much I could barely taste the mint. Furthermore there was chunks of ice at the bottom half of my frostino. :(

Exactly as you would expect and really friendly staff.

Warm atmosphere , standard Costa coffee and caters for those who wish for decaffeinated coffee. Friendly staff. Only drawback is parking in the street, can be hazardous trying to get in and out of a space

Nice Costa. Nice friendly staff with all the normal food and drinks expected at a Costa. It was fairly busy but there were enough seats to enjoy a coffee and cake

Staff are very friendly and the coffee shop has a nice atmosphere but in my opinion Costa Coffee’s actual coffee is just not very nice.

The most sociable, cheerful and eventful Costa I have ever been to. The Coffee was creamy the baristas were warm and genuine. They seem to be able to enjoy their work despite any eventuality. They’re not scared to have a laugh and a chat with customers. They are the personification of poise. The best coffee and service to the public I have seen in ages! Worthy of an award!!!

Depending on who is serving service can be very slow. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The layout is very welcoming anď comfortable.

A great Costa coffee. Always have everything with some great sitting areas inside also some bar seating against a wall and two tables undercover outside for people with dogs

What you'd expect from a Costa coffee shop. Decent coffee, same set up as any other Costa coffee shop, friendly staff and wifi if you need it. Nothing to make it any different though and better other local options available
