Costa Coffee in Harrow

I would like to share my very negative experience with the service at Costa on Harrow on the Hill. Recently, I witnessed unacceptable behavior from cashier Marta and a barista, who, being Polish, showed extreme lack of empathy and respect towards another human being. The situation occurred when a homeless man approached the establishment to ask about job opportunities. Instead of showing him even a bit of understanding, the women started to insult him in Polish, using vulgar language. What happened was not only inappropriate but also shocking. I cannot understand how one can treat another person in such a way, regardless of their circumstances. I believe that as employees in the food service industry, they should set an example for others and demonstrate more empathy, especially towards those in difficult situations. I hope that the management of Costa will pay attention to what is happening in their establishment so that such situations do not occur in the future. Everyone deserves respect, regardless of their circumstances.

I had good experience, I came to drink coffee and relax. The staff were amazing and fast service. Kasia is the best barista I have seen. She is always smiling and helpful.

Bad customer service -ordered Croissant or Toast was informed No Toast. So Croissant at eat in. Served with cold croissants in a bag and coffee in a takeaway cup. Then asked why I was offered croissant in a bag if eating in- was given a cold croissant in a small plate. Worst ambience 😡

Sono tornato in questo Costa Coffee per una colazione e per ricordare tempi andati. Non è un posto turistico, la clientela è piacevolmente multietnica, il personale è gentile. Un cortado e una brioche mi hanno messo di buon umore per la giornata. Locale pulito. Quasi di fronte c'è un bellissimo e molto fornito negozio di frutta e verdura.

Poor customer service from Helly and Gosia today. Arms folded, looked like they didn’t want to be there. Didn’t verbally acknowledge our order. Both sitting in the back on their phones, laughing. Highly unprofessional.

Better than last visit and I actually hot a spoon, knife and serviette. Although orders are delivered speedily the staff seem a little detached.

The ladies here especially the lovely girl with short hair is absolutely amazing, she's very attentive and know regular customer's orders by heart. She's truly amazing, absolutely recommend this branch.

Apart from the coffee the customer service was pathetic. The ladies at the counter couldnt be bothered acknowledging customers.

unprofessional staff. I usually buy Costa coffee every day. But today I went to harrow and was received by this person several times but the sales attitude seemed to be swinging.

They were very unprofessional, didn't say Thank tou, were talking in their language and laughing maybe they were talking about me or something else but were too busy chit chatting and not acknowledging customers.

I have been frequenting St. Ann's store in Harrow for many years. Sadly the quality of the experience has gone down hill. There are a lot of aggressive beggars circulating around the store, under-aged children vaping away in plain sight of customers, toilets are filthy, there are no CCTVs on the second floor. I sympathise with the overworked staff. Clearly head office care more about their profits than the safety of customers at the store. There should be set procedures in the event of issues - these should not be left unanswered.

Ive had good enjoyable times here with a close friend and myself. They have outdoor seating music and spacious seating. The staff work with efficiency and professionalism. The coffee shop is quiet although you dont tend to feel uncomfortable in my experience also the place is clean.

The ladies and gents in Costa (station) always make me feel valued. They are warm and welcoming and always have a smile ☺. I try not to drink out to much these days, but when I do decide to endulge, I go because of the staff. I enjoy being there with them. Thankyou to you all xx

Yesterday, 14/09/2023, I asked for 2 salted caramel with milk and coffee, one of the sellers always puts too much milk or too much ice. In the end, I fall down to take the 2 frappes, it tasted very weak, the test in the other car was still left for a medium glass that was thrown in the trash. When I got the attention of the barista,(all the time speaking in her language Polish)she started humiliating me in front of everyone that I'm just complaining and if I don't like it, I should never come to that place again!!!!! I feel very bad, very humiliated and I want to mention that I am a frequent customer!!!! Very humiliating!!!!

Small Costa with fast service but frappe seemed really strong (probably cuz it was 7am)

Costa Club card SCANS THROUGH (unlike my experience with chain in outside shopping centre) and service is good.

This store gives very good coffee usually. The staff are very polite, but they are often closed. Try their seat downstairs.

Very handy place with good service

The old skinny lady is really rude and unprofessional. 5th day in a row she serves me some really bitter cappuccino with all the puff but no milk. And has no brains to listen to customers.

They accept both cash and card payments which is good for people who don't have a bank account, and the staff are always smiling and cheerful.

Fantastic location just out of the station. Try to have the Ruby Hot Chocolate.

Service was a little slow but the gentleman at the till made it up to us with a free ruby hot choc that we won playing the coffee stirrer game.

The coffee was like not warm...😅

I get coffee here every now and then and the service is mixed. Sometimes the staff are distracted and the service is not good. I also heard one of the Eastern European sounding ladies make what would arguably be a racist comment. One member of staff went on a rant against Brexit while I was waiting for my coffee - I am apolitical and have zero interest on such issues. I am just there for a coffee. They need more training with regards to those attitudes.

One of the staff members is really nice and a friendly person he offered to make another drink because there wasn't enough syrup in mine and then he really did put good amount of syrup which made the drink amazing.

Always a pleasure the staff could not be more helpful. They know what I want before I tell them. They are like this with all their customers. I go for tea and not coffee but feel at ease going on my own.

Sometimes the staff seem distracted so your instructions are not carried out. Friendly otherwise

Had superb Gluten Free Christmas Cake and pot of tea,lovely.

Costa has good food products in general but this location is particular isn't ideal for a relaxing drink or chat. Too crowded, windows enable people to peer inside. It feels like you're being watched, so sure you can get a quick coffee from here but the more disclosed locations are more ideal for drawn out visits

Coffee was pretty good honestly. It wasn't busy when I entered; no customers were queueing, but I ended up waiting several minutes. Still, it's conveniently located beside both a train and bus station. Not a bad place to wait.

Great coffee. Always kind to me. I work in the post office nearby and they always say hello to me on the way to work.

Very unpleasant experience. I am surprised at Costa's poor customer service. There won't be a next time at this branch.

If you want high speed wifi, don't come here. Upload speed is zero.

Sits just inside Harrow on the Hill tube station cost little Costa friensly staff. Handy to get your coffee before catching the 'Met' to town one of the better tube services 'air conditioned' trains.

I went on Friday 21June around 4pm -was asked by the Barister to try the NEW Coffee -Beans I anxiously accepted -was the worst coffee I have ever had -hardly any Coffee taste served in a beautiful cup I made my comments to the staff -was not interested

I visited here today to order my morning coffee as I would have a long day ahead. I really wished I had not stepped a foot into the restaurant! I went to order a Chai Soya Latte and the gentlemen over the counter said said something different so I corrected him as I am only allowed to have Soya milk with my coffee, as in doing so the gentlemen to my surprise said 'I'm not dumb' and banged really hard on the till. I cannot believe Costa such a big company treats their customers like that. If this is the service that they provide then I think I would take my business elsewhere.

Very nice drinks and food, it may be on the more 'pricy' side. There was one time when I found pieces of plastic in a drink I had, but that was a one off and I got a replacement.

How comes that when you pay 25p more for the Columbia one they take the coffee from the normal container?

Just left this store livid (Harrow on the hill). Got to the store and the lady was serving a customer. Another colleague just seated behind her. I acknowledged the fact that there was a customer ahead. After serving the customer the lady at the till was busy chatting away not in english but in their own language all this time not yet acknowledge me. At this point I challeged her. Could I please have a coffee? She then says hello sir in sarcastic tone and proceeds to tell me she could not leave a customer standing there. You have been talking to this customer for almost 3-5 minutes and shes got her coffee in her hand . I just left the Panini I was about to buy and the coffee I was on the verge of ordering there and walked away. I am now at a franchise store in North Harrow and having a better service. Never going back to the plagued store on the hill.

We came in to this nice cosy costa and I ordered two hot chocolates and one latte. There wasn’t a long wait, however the hot chocolate was in the wrong size and the iced latte was very watery and you couldn’t taste the coffee. I would never buy a iced latte from their again. The staff were very rude and I couldn’t understand them very well.

You can never go wrong with Costa coffee. Always serves the best quality coffee

Easy place to stop for a drink, albeit always seems to be busy. This may be a false impression because of the shape of the place whereby it comes over as being quite cramped.

I went in to order toast for breakfast and was told they had sold out of bread. There were 2 slices in the display cabinet but the assistant refused to sell them to me although they were fresh. So I took my business elsewhere. Not the service I expect from Costa

Nice cozy atmosphere made me feel relaxed while cherising sip of my coffee. One of the best Costa shop around.

Had a wonderful quiet time with my mum and my daughter. As it was raining badly outside it was perfect place to stop for hot drinks

There is always long queue for coffee, because staff is very slow.

Their policy is to cut costs on staff training - many of the staff don't know how to make a latte. Over and over again, a cup of froth, underfilled - total rip-off. Many of the staff (especially in Harrow) are really lovely, but if they're not trained, what hope is there? It's a coffee shop FFS - train them to make a latte! Ridiculous, unethical profiteering.
