Really good quality food and atmosphere.

Superb as always. Food served hot, service impeccable & portions satisfying. Love the comfortable decor. I was surprised to see awful photos from diners on reviews, as it’s really excellent & food is presented beautifully! Thankfully, I’ve never made up my mind on photographs. Excellent GF menu too and I had no after effects at all. I’ve noted London branches do not meet the level at the Peterborough branch. Loved our mini curved seating.

The food was not great and it was overrated.

I had Poulet Breton- Corn-fed roasted half chicken with a Café de Paris butter, sautéed new potatoes, herb garnish while my partner chose Steak frites- Steak topped with garlic butter and served with frites and a herb garnish. * For the sauce we had Wild Mushroom Sauce with Garlic which was absolutely delicious 😍A-Must-Try!! 😍 I usually can’t finish my portion, but this time I did ✨ and even had another mushroom sauce! We’ll definitely visit again!

Used to be so good, you could go and have a gourmet breakfast that was a little pricey but worth it for the quality, now it's expensive with inferior ingredients. Such a shame, won't be going back. Sorry to say Witherspoons is now a better breakfast option.

This is the 4th Cote I've been in, in various towns. They have never failed to meet the expectation of, great value for money, food. That is very tasty and well presented. The staff as always were very welcoming and helpful. Valentin was especially helpful and entertaining Great restaurant 👌

After a little mishap with our order, staff went above and beyond to rectify the issue. Claudia (the manager I believe) was especially great, genuinely warm and considerate. Delicious food, will def be going back.

We were very pleased with the welcoming environment and even though we didn't book a table in time , the staff was kind enough to find us a nice place to dine and Valentin was very polite and nice with us , he assisted us the whole time we were there . We really enjoyed our anniversary there

So very disappointed. Pre-booked Christmas menu for Boxing Day. Not greeted on arrival. Hassled for an order nut when the items on the set menu are off it’s a bit hard to choose. Who runs out of turkey and the Christmas pudding option?! Ordered an expensive glass of Merlot which was the closer to the temperature of white wine than red. Certainly won’t bother again.

Amazing meal, warm atmosphere and great service from Valentin

I recently visited this restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed—not because of the food or service, but because of their payment policy. They do not accept cash at all. This was not mentioned anywhere when I entered or placed my order, and it led to an incredibly embarrassing situation. I only had cash on me, and when it came time to pay, I had no choice but to ask a random person to cover my bill so I could hand them my cash in return. It was humiliating and entirely avoidable if the restaurant had been upfront about their refusal to accept legal tender. I understand modern payment trends, but cash is still legal currency. Until this place starts accepting cash again, I will not return. Businesses should accommodate all customers, not alienate those who don’t use cards or digital payments. One star.

Good food, good service. Was with two people who had not visited Cote before and they were impressed. They want to return to try different dishes on the menu. We were short on time today because of going to a show,so need to return to try desserts!

My wife & I come here once a week for breakfast & it is delicious. Probably the best croissants in the area.

Staff welcoming. Reliable food choices to suit most tastes. Looked and tasted good. Serving staff took order verbally without writing it down contemporaneously but then seemed to have ordered incorrect accompaniments - took a couple of goes to correct.

Have always made a beeline for Cote when visiting Peterborough. Always liked it until today when i was blatantly ignored. Arrived at around 10.00am for breakfast. Restaurant very quiet. A male and a female staff member serving. For 15 mins both very obviously avoided giving eye contact and did not approach me to take an order. It was insulting, so I just left. Why would anyone who experiences this kind of treatment ever choose to return?

Went here with my family for breakfast, and it was lovely. The vibe is really cosy, and my garden breakfast was absolutely delicious! The french toast stacks also look sooo yummy, I had a hard time choosing! Highly recommended for a really nice breakfast.

Brilliant venue for a catch up dinner with friends. I recommend the Confit Duck à l'Orange with the Gratin Dauphinois, absolute lush! We shall return 😉

I was very disappointed when I went for breakfast with my husband. We have been many times and I was shocked by one particular waiters behaviour. I placed my order and my husband then placed his order and within 20 seconds he said he changed his mind and wanted something else. The waiter tall ponytail waiter who wears glasses and never smiles (definitely needs customer service training) replied he couldn’t charge the order. My husband reluctantly said ok it’s fine but I said no my husband doesn’t want that anymore so he can change his mind if he wants. We are paying for our breakfast so we can change it if we want to. He sighed and made a horrible face and said he couldn’t change it. I again urged we can and he then went to the back of the kitchen to talk to someone and then came back and said yes we can. I found him so rude and I’m appalled with his awful behaviour. He never smiles and I absolutely hate it when he comes to our table to take our order. I will never be going back to that place again! His whole attitude stank!

When there with my mate roughly 2 weeks ago late evening for a catch up. One of the really friendly male serves suggested the beef bourguignon to me while I was sat outside I didn't catch his name. It was a delectable suggestion i recommend that to people going here. Really nice atmosphere accommodating staff. Very pleasant restaurant experience. Didn't stay for dessert but the menu looked lovely.

Cristian made us feel as though we were the only table in the restaurant, we were looked after from start to finish. Such a warm nature, made conversation without being overbearing. Helped me with recommending a fish dish as I couldn’t decide. I just couldn’t fault any part of our evening. We will remember our anniversary every single year and I’m so pleased that we will look back next year as a positive experience thanks to your team.

An amazing place, with a very cosy environment and unbelievably professional staff members, who provide with excellent service. The food is very delicious and a good variety to choose from, French cuisine and not just. All overall it’s an excellent place for any occasion to visit.

We visited the restaurant and were made to feel incredibly welcome, Florian and Klaudia were incredibly attentive and I love that the allergies menu has every ingredient included as it makes it easier to determine what I could eat as someone with a non standard allergy. A brilliant breakfast with amazing friends. Valentin catered to our party of 9 very well. This is a gem of a restaurant in the city. Portions are the right sizes & brought to the table speedily.

Such a great restaurant chain - consistent good quality food, ambience and service. My restaurant of choice in my nomadic life visiting cities and towns around the country. The menu changes periodically and the fixed price menu gives great value for money. My visit to the Peterborough branch came at the end of a long and hectic day and was a life saver!

A great 2 Course set menu. I prefer taste over LARGE portions and Côte delivers great tasting food with enough food for anyone. Atmosphere is good, music is in the background and diners are generously space throughout the space.

This place is exceptional, we stopped by for breakfast and oh we were surprised. Everything was good. Very highly recommend. Need to make time to go back for dinner when we are back in the area

Food and service was fine but when I got the bill the wrong wine was put on. The manager told us he's discounted it but all they did was take off the OPTIONAL service charge. If he told me that he'd take the optional service charge off for the trouble I wouldn't be mad about it but he just lied and I didn't want to make a scene so I left.

Always a fantastic experience here. Went in for my annual birthday trip and the staff were wonderful as always, a warm welcome and fantastic food, always x

This was my third visit to this restaurant and I was once more very pleased with everything. Menu, food quality and flavour, atmosphere and staff

Unfortunately the sauce that had been put all over my food was stone cold and, when we mentioned it to the waitress, she told me that's the way it should be. I don't think so....very disappointing. Not a patch on the Newbury branch!!

I never thought I'd have to give our local branch such a low mark, but our birthday dinner was awful. The minute steaks were tough and grey, the fries excessively salted, my boef bourgignon was served in a horribly gelatinous gravy which had never seen a wine bottle, and a hideous little slither of sloppy mashed potato. I was a regular but I won't be back.

They pay attention to detail, give the best advice on food choices and their food and ambience is absolutely amazing

Christian was excellent ,as I have many allergies and medical food requirements.He checked everything thoroughly and made me feel nothing was a problem. We felt very welcome and Def recommend to others. Christian is a real asset to the business.

A really lovely restaurant, have been many times, where the service is ALWAYS impeccable, polite, attentive etc. Options avaliable for vegans, table water is always available, and whilst it isn't cheap, I think it's great value for money. Quality ingredients... can also buy some of their ingredients online.

Didn’t have the starter I wanted ( not told by waitress before we sat down) opted for the crab without cucumber but it only comes with cucumber, too much work for chef to change as it’s prepared before. So maybe food is not made fresh to order ( can’t wait for the comment back on that ) Had a starter of pate. Ok. Main course stew Breton Very tasty, big portion. Wine choice is small but ok. Didn’t have dessert But my dining companion had cream burlee said it was delicious

We were met with a free glass of bubbly as it was my friends birthday treat, which was a perfect start to a lovely, delicious meal. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Attillo, for whom nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend for a special occasion.

Had lunch with the wife the 2 course fixed price menu option was good value for money and just right for lunch. The staff were very pleasant and attentive without making it feel rushed.

I had a very lovely meal there, the staff were very kind and the food was divine! It was late when I went and they stayed opened for us.

We always have a superb meal here. The service is very good, the food imaginative and very appetising, and the wine is exceptional. It is very good value for money - by no means cheap but affordable - and the atmosphere is also very good. We eat here regularly, the staff are welcoming, attentive, and efficient but not obtrusive. Thank you for always giving us a good experience.

We were looking forward to having dinner at Cote taking our daughter and grandson for her birthday. Waiter service was excellent, no problem with staff,but the food was below standard. £15 for a child’s burger is excessive, Half a chicken was not half a chicken it was a over cooked dry chewy breast. Only chips with it and can’t believe for the price no veg which needed ordering as a side. Also sauce as a side was a knub of garlic butter on a steak not a sauce. Not homemade chips look liked they came from any supermarket. Totally underwhelmed and don’t think we’ll be back in a hurry. Pity as we have enjoyed previous visits and the atmosphere is nice.

Visited for a work meal. Restaurant really well presented and staff incredibly friendly, professional and could not of done more for us. Food came out in good time and was of a very high quality and well presented. I would say a little above average on price point but you do get very good food for that price. Would eat here again and would also recommend if you are after something a little different and of higher quality than the standard offerings around the city.

Met my mum-in-law here for lunch. I loved the ambience. It has a ramp for wheelchairs and a front window that opens completely so you feel a bit like you’re outside. The staff were very nice. The food came quickly. It was very tasty. I had a two-course fixed plate. I would come here again.

We had the fixed menu and the baked cheese followed by the sorbet was wonderful. Sitting outside on a lovely day added to it and the service was perfect. The photo is taken from where we were sitting.

Our go-to chain for french when we are in England and after a good tasty lunch. We had the fixed price menu of 2 courses. We find these serving sizes are perfect for us. Salad au bacon and whitebait for entrees were excellent. The whitebait was hot and tasty and a good size and not smothered in batter. The salad was fresh and had multiple types of greens which I enjoyed. We both had the chicken with mushroom sauce and fries. The chicken was hot and nicely cooked and the sauce was very good. Hot crisp fries hit the spot. Hubby had a beer and I had a rose as recommended by the waiter. Service was attentive but not intrusive. A very enjoyable lunch.

Not been for nearly 12 months after a disappointing visit. But Wow they’re back to their best! Everyone was so nice,attentive with knowledge of the menu always checking if we were ok. We had our favourite table near the bar which was as great. Oh and the food excellent always a good choice . Well done all of you and making our night so enjoyable.

If you check out my other reviews you will see I have given Côte 5/5 several times. In this occasion we all found it a little bit below par. We dined at around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. The place wasn’t terribly busy, but we all felt the service wasn’t the “over and above” that we are used to here. I’m not saying it was bad, but we expected better, and we were all so looking forward to it, and my wife and I travelled 60 miles to meet friends here. I had to ask for more than one thing that was missing. My wife’s steak, my mussels and both portions of dauphinoise were all a bit overcooked. We never made a fuss as we were chatting and having a laugh. We decided only to pay half of the £26 service charge. I don’t know if that’s why we were ignored as we left, but it left us feeling that the £13 tip we left was too much.

The total visit was excellent, from the staff making us welcome to the overall price of the meal. The food quality was superb and it a long time since we have enjoyed a restaurant so much. Thank you for the great service and the excellent food..........we will be back!!!

What’s happened!!! Been here so many times and yet 2 weeks about it wasn’t as good as normal, I put it down to a 1 off , but went today, and again the service wasn’t as good as previous times , the food was not as good , they seemed to miss the final touches, I wonder if it’s because the last 3 times the lady manager with the glasses isn’t there and lady for Sicily their where brilliant at making the atmosphere and your visit special.

Nice steaks. Really good taste, nice service and atmosphere. Felt like needed something more like roasted tomatoes or something, but it was still really good. I was advised with black pepper sauce for steak, really enjoyed it too
