Cote Brasserie - Salisbury in Wiltshire

Cote never disappoints. A early dinner but the restaurant was already quiet busy, we hadn't booked but they were able to find us a table. The service was first class, they are friendly, welcoming and professional, what was lovely is how they all worked together. My partner had the Crab Maison followed by the Sirloin Steak with fondant potatoes and I had the cheese souffle followed by the Beef Cheek bourguion both were delicious. We had the cheese board and cafe gourmet which finished the meal off perfectly. Highly recommend Cote and Cote in Salisbury doesn't disappoint 😃

We eat here every couple of months and last week When there was a delay in our turkey meals the staff (without us asking as we were very happy) brought a delicious platter of bread cheese and meats to keep us going. Great customer service, thank you.

Having suffered an overpriced, indifferent, and somewhat shambolic evening meal the night before, my wife and I suggested Cote, having enjoyed previous visits in Cardiff and Bristol. We were not disappointed. We received the warmest welcome the moment we arrived and enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal. Of special note was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff who were unfailingly charming, knowledgeable, and obviously enjoying working there. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great place for a Saturday lunch. Good food, although you can tell what's been miked.

Advised! We arrived late, around 9.30pm but the staff made us sit anyway and we received a wonderful treatment, special mention for Julia, helpful and smiling. A staff made up of competent and professional young people, congratulations!

A friend of mine took me to this lovely venue for lunch when I visited Salisbury and I was really impressed. Lovely service from Anna, great ambience and wonderful food and drinks. Highly recommended!

Everything about the meal was great, from the initial welcome, through the meal right through to when we left.

On a busy chilly Tuesday afternoon, opted for lunch, solo, as I am disabled and live alone, and therefore am unable to cook a meal for myself. Being a market day, I knew my chances of finding a free table without a reservation were slim, especially when I arrived to find Club Ladies-Who-Lunch were out in force. However Alex, the excellent Maitre D', who initially turned me away, called me back to tell me a couple were leaving shortly, and he would get their table cleaned up ready for my use very shortly.He must have recognised me from previous visits. A great lunch , where I was well looked after by my server, Charlie, making for a much appreciated visit. Good food, good prices, and a warm ambience. Worth recommending. Thanks, Alex and Charlie.

THEY STOLE SPANISH FOOD AND BRANDED IT AS FRENCH

Food was good and atmosphere lovely. A little bit pricey but was worth it. We had the steaks which were cooked extremely well.

We ate here with my partner, and they gave us seats beside the bins and told them we are not happy to seat there. So, they offered us an alternative to sit at the entrance, where people are constantly passing by. They were rude too and didn’t even apologize for it.

Apart from the manager, who really let the team down by being so friendly, the rest of the staff did excellent impressions of arrogant Parisian waiters. Food was decent though.

Excellent atmosphere. Best deserts. It was our second visit to Côte and we'll be coming more often bringing our friends with.

Doesn’t matter what day of the week or time of day we visit, the service, food and attention to detail is always superb! No reasonable request is ever too much trouble.

Excellent food and service. A nice warm atmosphere on a rainy day. Delighted that a non- alcoholic sparkling wine was available too. Our waitress Julia was very friendly and efficient. We would definitely recommend.

Had a delicious brunch on Sunday, would highly recommend the French breakfast with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs and the boudin noir is a favourite! Great service from Ana and really good price at £15 for a hot breakfast, hot drink and a juice.

I ordered fillet steak and pepper sauce very nice but the portions are very very small and they need to fix the cupboard in the gents toilet

We visited the Cote today for my partner's birthday. Everything was absolutely perfect. All staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious.

I came here for food and drinks with family and friends food was absolutely amazing and the waitress was fantastic couldn’t ask for a better service than Julia thank you so much will 100% recommend and if you want 110% services I would ask for Julia such a laugh and hard worker thanks again

We had the 2 courses for £17 which is good value. My husband upgraded to sirloin steak from the minute steak, asked for medium rare and it was tough and chewy. Other than that food was ok

Staff were also great, let me in quite late when my hotel wouldn’t! Reasonably priced, nice atmosphere (feels special) and food (Beef Bourguignon) was incredibly tasty and just the right amount of everything.

Côte Salisbury is quite good for being part of a chain. The atmosphere isn't particularly unique or charming, but the tables are large and they have ample tables across their large footprint of a restaurant. The staff is very nice, and had a smile on their faces throughout. The food does the job, but not memorable. My burger was a bit over cooked, but the mushrooms tacos are pretty good. Good place if you need something dependable

Good overall, Cote is a decent enough brasserie with a wide range of dishes, service a bit slap dash. Calamari surprisingly was the worst dish, not cooked or crispy enough. Everything else pretty good. Noticed some of the waitresses carrying trays of food high up next to their head, and their hair falling into the food 😲

Elena was very pleasant and attentive. She made perfect recommendations for me and my lovely date. Too bad we were so satisfied and fullfilled with our meal; we were not able to try dessert. But that’s to try for another visit.

I visited Cote today for lunch with a relative who lives abroad. Really poor experience. It took 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge us as we waited for a table, followed by an additional 20 minutes before anyone took our order. After that, we had to wait another half for our food to arrive. To make matters worse, my side was served after I had already finished my main. Staff were polite, but they seemed quite oblivious to the people who had been seated, often unaware of the needs of other customers, who like myself looked equally as fed up waiting. The food itself was great, but be prepared for a long wait, and you may need to actively seek out the staff to get their attention. A bacon and sausage sandwich with potatoes + eggs benedict and smashed avo was £36 including the 10% optional service charge they automatically add on to your bill. I wouldn't usually, but as this was so poor I asked them to remove the service charge at the end. Usually have a great experience at Cote, but wouldn't come to this one again.

We had an enjoyable visit to Cote Salisbury. We had choices from the summer specials menu which were nice but a bit overpriced. In future I think I will stick with the set menu!

A truly terrible experience. My son in law took us, as a party of four to Salisbury's Cote restaurant last Thursday, to celebrate my daughter's 47th birthday. I was greatly looking forward to this lunch, as my experiences at various Cotes around the country have always been excellent. We got off to a disappointing start, as the lady greeting us, informed us all that there were no scallops or mussels. A shame as some of us had been considering ordering these. Shown to our table and given our menus, we set about choosing our lunches, whilst avoiding those items. We also chose our red, white, and rose bottles of wine. As a party, we naturally ordered a selection of dishes, but we all decided on the crab salad starter, and one of us on beef as a main course. We were then told the crab was unavailable, as was the beef. Oh dear! The wine was tried and poured, but the rose and white were not adequately chilled, so we asked for ice buckets for them, which were delivered. We also asked for a bottle of sparkling water and a carafe of tap water. We were forced to request this water three times, and when it finally arrived we received a bottle of sparkling and a bottle of still. Not the carafe we had ordered. We gave up on trying to get this right, as every request for anything was being met with some hostility and much rolling of eyes. The wines themselves were all excellent, as they should have been, being selected off the top of the wine list. The green beans and spinach were appallingly badly prepared and cooked. Asked by a waiter why the beans has been left, and having explained to him that they were stringy, we did not offer an apology, just saying, Oh. The whole problem with this meal, was not just the shortage.of required dishes, but in the dreadful standard of service, which was frequently reluctantly provided, and frankly, quite rude. Shortly before we were leaving however, the most graceful and charming Thai lady came on duty. It was solely her grace and courteousness, which saved the lunch for us.

Always have an amazing meal. The service and the quality of the food is really consistent. Clearly a well run establishment. I had scallops to start followed by steak frites. Washed down with a glass of picpoul. Will definitely be back!

We've been waiting more than an hour to get just some bread we've ordered with our drink. It came with our starters. Food was not that great. My salmon was overcooked and dry. The young lady was lovely but forgot several times what we ordered. For the standard of the restaurant, and the price range, I wouldn't recommend at all this côte restaurant.

Amazing service from Ana! Food was delicious and Anna was well informed about allergies. I am gluten and dairy free and highly recommend this place.

Great place for a relaxing lunch - service always very good. Would normally give 5 stars but the cheese soufflé was tasteless and too thick - and being a French restaurant it would be nice to see Ile Flottante on the pudding menu. But we will be back

An excellent lunch served in a very ‘French’ atmosphere. The food was delicious and Ana our waitress was polite, knowledgeable, attentive and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she did all she could to make our lunch enjoyable.

My sons organised a lovely lunch out after a particularly stressful time. Everything about our visit was perfect. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere nice and relaxed and our server Ana was so good that it made the occasion even better.

The onion soup was not rich, the fried calamari was very thick, the French bread was delicious, the steak was overcooked and fishy, ​​and the fish gratin was too greasy. But the service staff is warm and interesting.

Went for lunch and they had live music. It was like trying to eat in jazz club. Far too loud and it killed the conversation. Won't be going back.

Wish I'd taken pictures of the food very tasty indeed little pricey but to be fair worth it great helpful and polite staff only downside for me was added tip to bill i know there's a opt out for that but to be honest thought it was cheeky always makes you feel better when you leave a little something on the table feels more personal. Amazing Friday night service Elena is the best waitress we have experienced in a longtime. Her attentiveness and warmth was amazing. The food was delicious too! Would definitely revisit if we lived nearer perfect supper to end the summer solstice weekend

Beautiful location and professional staff. Great service with smile. Food is always delicious where ever I had tried, they never disappoint me. They always maintain their quality. You can get a lot of choice in menu from veggie to meat. Seatings inside and out. I prefer to sit out to enjoy lovely weatber.

Maybe it was because we had a middle of the room table on a Friday night but it all felt a bit too frantic for a relaxing dinner. Staff are very pleasant and I've never had a bad meal in Côte in all the years I've frequented them (Bath, Exeter to name but a few). Having said that, we probably over ordered on starters having both the garlic bread and Wye Valley deep fried asparagus 'for the table' for only two of us. I think the asparagus treatment rivals the legendary Glasgow deep fried Mars bar and, like the Mars bar, not something to be repeated.

Elena served us. She was very warm and friendly and did all she could to make us welcome and enjoy our experience. She could not have done more. Highly commended!

Good service but waited one hour for my food.

During our trip to England we ate in Cote 4 times. The service was always good and so was the food. Even when it was full, a place was found for us. Highly recommended !

Took my wife here for a Birthday lunchtime meal and it was exceptional. Amazing aesthetic inside and lovely attentive staff. Food was really good and worth every penny. Authentic, delicious and welcoming. We will absolutely be dining here again.

Had high expectations and was let down ,we had the duck dish and a burger the duck was dry no orange glaze or sauce just pieces of uncooked orange and very very small portion. The burger was over cooked and tough to bite in to no real flavour. Service was absolutely perfect.

Have visited a few times and the food is good. However I was sitting outside on this occasion and stepped inside to use the toilet. I was stopped by an Eastern European lady who said only customers could use the toilets, I said I was a customer to little avail. The waitress serving me had to step in to tell her I was a paying customer. On my return to the table outside the lady approached and apologised insincerely and I told her I didn't accept and asked her to leave me alone. She then proceeded to call me rude loudly enough for other tables and passers by to hear. Two examples of poor service I won't be back.

Second visit to Côte for breakfast in the past 2 weeks. First time in Bath and now Salisbury. Elena and the manager were both very friendly hosts. Good menu choices. We had smashed avocado and the scrambled eggs, both delicious. We will be back again for sure.

High expectations which were not met. The main course I had contained very fatty beef cheeks, two small carrots and mashed potatoes. The sauce was tasty but overall the dish was overpriced. Service was OK but not special. The music did not match the supposed theme of the restaurant. Disappointing overall.

Went for lunch with friends for an early birthday celebration; loved the warm welcome and gently buzzing atmosphere. Service was relaxed but attentive while the food was superb without exception. 3 of us chose from a high quality fixed price menu, the other from a la carte. Everything was perfectly cooked, well presented and incredibly tasty. We were never rushed, being left to enjoy our coffee and a lengthy chat - brilliant experience.
