Cristina's in Barking and Dagenham

The service here was attentive and they are family friendly. The food from the main menu is good although they do massively overdo the salt. The food from the main menu is worth 4 stars in parts but their roast dinner unfortunately for us was pretty poor and we would give it two stars at push. To get a reservation for the roast dinner you have to order well on advance as they get booked up early so we were glad when we managed to get a spot. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointed as it had an insane amount of salt, it was all we could taste. The level of salt felt like it was an accident as it was so overdone and must have been the result of someone just knocking over the salt when making it. We did raise it but got told that it was normal. If that is normal, then I highly advise not ordering. If the salt was massively reduced and a normal amount was used then this could have been a great roast dinner but alas on the occasions we visited it was not the case. The bao bun start was decent but the jerk wings were tiny niblets with a some jerk sauce smothered over them so a pass for them. If you know your jerk, then you’ll want to swerve these. The steaks also appear to come one notch down from what you ask so medium is actually medium rare. The steaks come pre sliced and compared to other steak houses. Cristina is distinctly mediocre and for a similar price you can get much better. The beef brisket was on point though and a highlight and definitely recommended. Unfortunately this place was much better back in the day but still worth a visit.

What can I say other than I'm shocked this is the third time I have been here. First time was some years back. When we went there originally the Food was amazing juicy fresh and tender especially the brisket burger cooked to perfection. Second time we went there tried the brisket burger seemed very dry, the beef drippings and potato skins were decent. Recently I thought I would give it a try again with a friend of mine. When I meant the brisket in the burger was dry as anything I am not joking really disappointed from what it was to what it's become. That brisket meat was probably dryer than the burger bun itself. The smash burgers were absolutely shocking lacked proper taste and just lumped together with minimal effort. The potato skins which I ordered as backup incase food was substandard came out terrible literally like biscuits barely any potatoes moreso skin. Additionally the beef that went in it is now nicknacks literally barely any taste in that too so was hugely expensive let down. The waiting staff were too busy. Overall I would never come back here again. It's sad really as i had thought the brisket would be nice like the first time I went there, but second time disappointed.

Ordered the Christmas dinner. Starters was fish cake which was good. However the main dish of roast was not nice. Not enough taste and the wellington was dry. I was disappointed

Visited today with family and friends and loved it. They were patient with us taking some time to decide what we wanted but once we had and the food came it was delicious. The bruschetta starter was something else, while the smash burger I had was juicy and flavoursome. Of course I should mention the steak, which was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The service was great and the atmosphere is nice, with a good mix of families and groups of friends. Can't wait to go again.

We ordered the 0% Vegan Sharing Platter and were extremely disappointed. After waiting over an hour, we were served cold meat with visible blood, despite ordering medium-well. It looked nothing like the photos on their Instagram, which had drawn us in. The waitress offered to reheat it, but that didn’t make up for the poor quality. To top it off, they charge a service fee that is absolutely not worth it. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Terrible customer service at Cristina's yesterday (27/12/24). Whole restaurant taken care of by two waitresses and if you have the bad luck of dealing with the moody waitress (Marina), she WILL make your experience hell and ruin your dining experience! When we got to the restaurant Marina asked for the name that our booking was under and was carrying a white piece of paper on a board. I pointed my name on the paper to let her know and she replied with a bad attitude saying 'Yes I know, you don't need to tell me' and then angrily scowled. I came here as a party of 8, with my family. The food was okay except one of the steaks which we asked for medium well done came out pink. At the moment Cristina's have a promo on for 15% off which we can see on their social media pages posted as recently as just 4 days ago. When we asked the waitress, Marina, if we can apply this, she started getting angry again and rudely told us we were lying to her about the discount. When we showed her the discount being shown on the company's very own TikTok page she kept telling us we were lying and if this discount existed all the customers would be asking for it and the only way to get a discount was through the newsletter but 'if you don't have the code from the newsletter I can't help you'. We then asked the other waitress called Edit and she knew about the promo. She quickly apologised and told Marina that there was in fact a promo running. Edit's behaviour was good but with Marina yelling at us and having a horrible attitude, sadly it ruined our whole experience. Seriously don't waste your money or time coming here, there are plenty of other halal steak places about where they display basic customer service training and don't have a bad mood with you from the second you step foot into the establishment

this restaurant is a must-try, easily identifiable by the large pink cow positioned outside of the window. easy access with parking right next door in ASDA. Cristina’s thrives with their attentive service, all food and drinks served with a smile and helpful attitude. Their food and drinks are really the star of the show; mouth-watering dishes from starters to desserts - we left full but still ordered dessert to go! Their drinks were adventurous and exquisite, from a simple coffee to a barbie martini, Cristina’s has it all! Definitely recommend to anybody that enjoys steak (or vegetarian, they really have everything). Not cheap, but worth every penny!

Great atmosphere, service was very good, she also was happy to take our group photos. Food was tasty, we were a party of four, we got a mixture of steaks, they were happy to recook some of the meat as my sister was not very keen with just medium. Definitely recommend the chum churry source to have with steak Easy to spot restaurant as they have a cow model outside.

So happy to have this in Barking. Such a solid restaurant with great delivery and dine in service. My burger recommendation would be The American burger for a ref meat option or The Cornflake Chicken burger as a chicken option. Both very solid, filling and flavourful. I’ve dined in twice for steaks and enjoyed both visits. I got the sirloin on my first visit and fillet in my second. Between the two I would recommend the fillet steak. You pay £4 extra, but it’s a much juicer cut and doesn’t dry out too quick or taste tough. I would also recommend getting the steak done no darker than Medium. Both times I got the steak with the gravy that comes with it which I think is enough to eat the steak and any potato sides. For starters and sides, I would skip getting the mac and cheese from here since it’s very basic, almost like supermarket microwave mac and cheese. I would also say their mashed potatoes isn’t very creamy and gets stiff throughout the meal, but I still think it tastes decent and is a good addition if you are having steak. Instead I would recommend the feta salad which is great and also their prawns with chilli and halloumi nuggets with chilli jam. I’ll definitely be back here to try more from their menu and am eager to their their sunday roast and Christmas menu!

I've heard of Cristina's on tiktok and have been wanting to try it out for a while. The vegetable and gravy was alright. But the meat was pretty much raw and too raw for my liking there was blood everywhere. I might go back to try a different dish and ask for it to be cooked well.

The beverages offered were not of satisfactory quality. The pina coladas were excessively diluted, and the mocktails were not well-received. The starters were not to my liking. The cheese burger starter was mediocre at best, while the other starters were not enjoyable. The bread used for one of the starters was unpleasantly hard, and the prawns had an off odor. The steak was acceptable, as it was cooked to the requested medium-rare doneness. The portion size for the chips was average. However, the sauces for the steaks, including the peppercorn and chimichurri, were not satisfactory. The gravy had an unpleasant odor and taste. Also, got the brisket burger and the burger needed more sauce, it was very very rationed. If that was slathered on, it would have elevated the burger. Overall, the dining experience was not satisfactory, and I do not intend to return to this establishment.

3rd time returning and bumping up to 5 stars!!

Our first time at Cristina's for a weekday birthday meal. Although we arrived earlier than our booking, we were immediately seated and shortly after served. Food turnaround time is amazing with our burger orders. A nice selection of cocktails outside the alcohol menu was also a nice surprise. Our little girl appreciated the Christmas decor though she was a bit fussy. It was a warm family feel and definitely felt like others dining were regulars!

I am not a streak connoisseur , I am infact a pregnant woman with an undeniable craving of steak, and let me tell you, I had a fillet streak with chips and bone marrow garlic sauce” key word WELL DONE” and it was the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. Call it pregnancy hormones or not but I will be coming back Stunning 10/10

Food was great, very reasonably priced for a good quality steak, service from one of the staff members wasn't the best, we ordered a few starters along side the mains and she gave us a look and condescendingly said it was a lot of food, which I found quite rude and another time they got my order wrong on my anniversary with my Mrs I had to wait for my food and my Mrs had to eat her's so it would get cold, they did bring me a new stake but, my fries and sauces where cold by the time my stake came. Regardless of this I would recommend Christina's as the rest of the staff are friendly and the food is very good

A little gem in Barking. In a league of its own. Great, personalised service and very tasty and hearty food, with quality ingredients. The steaks are cooked perfect, to your preference. Highly recommend.

The nutjob cheeseburger Is a must try. We had 2 burgers and both were delicious, so no complaints about food in my experience. The atmosphere was great as well as the service. The waiter did an amazin job. It's good that they have halal meats. The only thing that I really didn't like was the service charge (10%). I mean you are already paying quite a bit for the food and on top of that you get service charge, especially in an area like barking where there's no service charge at any restaurant. Overall a good experience and I would recommend to try it once.

Went to Cristina’s for a Sunday Roast with the wife and we left satisfied and full! Food was really good, portion size was great (Beef Brisket was a tad dry). Service was good - waiters were responsive, polite and smiley (a bit slow, but the restaurant was busy). Atmosphere was lovely and family friendly. Toilets were super clean and hygienic! Definitely recomend

Really good food but the services has always been pooor, the staff are rude, difficult and asking for anything seems to piss them off. The floors are oily so have fun ice skating. We had a reservation but were told to wait 30mins.. staff look moody and dull the experience. Only redeeming factor is the steak!

Had such high hopes for this place, but they did not deliver! Potato skin - nothing special, flavourless. Steak chimichurri bruschetta - this was okay Lamb shank - my goodness, this was awful, no flavour in meat, simply drowned in bland gravy Rib eye steak - ordered medium rare but it was pretty close to rare so couldn’t eat it Fries - very dry. There were only 2 people serving tables on a Friday night where literally all tables were taken, so everything took so long. Definitely definitely won’t recommend or revisit.

Great welcome and service from the lovely staff at Cristinas. This is a spot I regularly visit for their steak and smash burgers. This time round I tried out the brisket steak, which unfortunately did not match up to the other items on menu. The steak was clearly pre-cooked and warmed up and not as soft and succulent as the meat I’ve tasted in the brisket burgers. There was not a lot of carbs in the meal either, and one gravy shared between two. Food came very quick and they were also good to accommodate for a baby high chair and quick seating during a very busy period. Prices are reasonable for London steakhouse, and plenty of drink options on menu. Overall, I would visit again but Sunday roast may be given a miss. Edit: Meant to say Brisket Roast not steak, which tastes a lot less soft and tender than the brisket in the burger and what I’ve had at countless other places.

The really know how to cook a quality steak. So refreshing to find a chef who cares about the food that comes out of their kitchen.

Not happy, online says it is open. Drove down 45 minutes to have the food but then to find out it’s closed. If they are closed during lunch time they should indicate that on the website.

The food was disappointing—cold when served, and I had to send it back for reheating. The steak was dry and tough, and the service was below par. The staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. Given the high prices, the quality of both the food and service was not worth it. There are much better steakhouses to choose from.

Seen this place for years and finally tried out their lunch menu. The food was delicious and a great value for money. We both had the steak and frites plus the smashed burger to share. Both were flavourful and surprisingly it did not feel or taste oily or “junkie”. The service was a bit slow as there was only one waitress on the floor, but besides this the food was worth the wait (25-30mins). Would 100% recommend and come back.

The best restaurant in Barking! Great quality and affordable prices. I especially recommend the lunch deals (Smashed double cheeseburger is my favourite) and the Sunday Roast. The Chimichurri sauce is delicious! The service is super nice and professional. I highly recommend it, both dine-in and take-away.

Came to this place with my wife upon her recommendation and I could immediately tell why she dragged me here. Straight off the bat, our server Cristina, who was very friendly, seated us and took our drinks order promptly. We then had some time to look over the menu which was as you’d expect from a steakhouse with a few fun surprises. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very welcoming. They’ve clearly thought about the small things like the ambient temperature, smell and music - which all add up to create a wonderfully layered dining experience. We got the brisket burger, American burger and steak bruschetta - all perfectly cooked and flavourful. The chips on the side were well seasoned too. Overall, a really lovely experience, reasonably priced and definitely one of Barking’s hidden gems.

Prawn, steak bruschetta and wings starters were all so flavourful and high quality. Highly highly recommend this place. Can see why everyone raves about it in all honesty. I recently dined here and was thoroughly disappointed. The customer service was poor, with inattentive staff and long waits. The food was equally lackluster—my steak was overcooked and lacked flavor, and the sides were mediocre. To top it off, the prices were exorbitant, far exceeding the quality of the meal and service. Overall, it was an unsatisfactory experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We love going to Cristina’s! There is always a friendly welcome, brilliant service and, most of all, delicious food. We especially love the Sunday Lunches which are cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced.

Went here as a last minute plan. We were seated promptly although we were running late. The server did recommend some drinks and options which we got. We got potato scratchings, steak and chicken meals. We got extra sides too. The food was good but not as good as other steak places. The chimichuri sauce felt really oily as opposed to flavourful. The service was a but slow as it seemed the younger staff were left on their own and once food was given, kind of stayed in the back. The overall restaurant was clean but very cold. The theme was a bit beige and not very warm and cosy. The food took decent time to come out and one person tried the sticky date pudding that she felt tasted heavily of dates as opposed to a treat like taste. I think we spent like £40 each roughly. Which I think was fairly pricey for the portion of food and the taste. Maybe other items on the menu may have been better but was overall a good experience. Would recommend but would not come back here again perhaps.

Had the 0% vegan board. The steaks were really nice but the brisket had too much fat on them, fat should've been trimmed off. An option to substitute the bone marrow should be given as some people don't like bone marrow. The loaded chips are not really edible as they are too loaded with grated cheese, so there is a pool of oil underneath. You will feel sick eating that. Lamb shank flavour was below average. I should've stuck to my usual Ribeye steak. Cristina's do steak the best.

When my wife recommended this spot for dinner I had high hopes. I ordered the fillet steak which tasted fine the mash was dry and very lumpy which was disappointing. The next morning however I woke up with diarrhoea and spent the remainder of the day with severe stomach aches which I can only imagine was due to poor meat hygiene. Safe to say I will not be returning!

So we went for a family dinner yesterday evening and the restaurant seemed clean and pleasant to eat in, which was a great start. However, upon returning home after the meal, my husband got food poisoning and a high fever. I started getting stomach cramps and have been feeling bloated and nauseous since last nights meal (I’m pregnant too btw!). It seems the food was contaminated as I have eaten out a fair bit, but not had this experience before. My husband ordered the a fillet steak, medium rare with mash, and I ordered the beef topped chips with a brownie milkshake. The brownie milkshake was not flavoursome or thick like I assumed it would be, the kids also wanted mac and cheese which turned out to be super dry. I literally had to leave the full plate aside as they didn’t enjoy it at all. We paid £70 for this meal, not worth the money at all in my opinion. This will have to be our first and last meal at Christina’s!

The presentation of the restaurant was devine along with the service. The waiters were great regarding attitude and patience. The waiting time was just fine as the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately the food was not at the same standard as everything else. I found the chicken to be too tough and chewy. The food was covered in oil with such a watery texture to the cheese. I left feeling rather queezy.

Cristinas is one of the best places to eat in Barking. Food is brilliant, staff are helpful and it’s a great family friendly atmosphere.

I went to Christina’s yesterday for the first time. I heard a lot of positive things. But it was the worst experience ever. Worst steaks and burgers I’ve had. And they were very expensive. Do not recommend.

Had a wonderful dinner at Cristina's Steak with my family of five, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment we stepped through the door, the staff were incredibly welcoming. They ensured we were comfortable by seating us at a large table, which we greatly appreciated, especially given our group size. The culinary offerings at Cristina's were exceptional. Their burgers were an absolute delight, presenting a refreshing change from what you typically find elsewhere. However, the real highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the steaks. They were the stars of the show, and my wife and son were particularly fond of them. Undoubtedly, these are some of the best halal steaks you can find in East London. While the food was slightly on the pricey side, the flavour and uniqueness of each dish more than justified the cost. In every bite, you could taste the quality and care that went into the preparation. Overall, I would highly recommend Cristina's Steak for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in the area. It's a place where exceptional taste meets warm hospitality.

16.08.24 - and we're back! Please, Cristina, bring back the bao buns 😭 Had a lovely dinner at Cristina's yesterday evening. Even though there was a slight mishap with the food, it was rectified immediately! The bao buns were so delicious and moreish, my kids devoured them too! Steaks were cooked to perfection, and the marrow was sublime. So beautifully paired with the steak. Thanks to the 2 waitresses that were holding down the shift yesterday, both were so lovely and even though it was busy and they were stretched really thin (with a few customers complaining about wait times), both took it head on and persevered. We will back!

I had an issue with the late delivery which i ordered at Just Eat… it had been 1 hr and 45 mins and the food is not collected at the restaurant. The time of the collection and delivery keeps on changing. So i decided to go to the hospital and collect the food. When I arrived yesterday 12/08/2024 at 8:25 pm I was warmly greeted by receptionist/waitress and I immediately informed her that I am there to collect a food which I have been waiting for a long time. When the waitress gave me my orders, I informed her that I cannot accept the food because I know that it has been sitting for a long period causing the chips to be soggy and the juice of the burger has settled on the buns. She acknowledged my concern and immediately went to the kitchen, she followed protocol by informing the chef and the chef called the manager. The waitress went out and the manager was on the phone. I explained the situation, and extend her assistance by instructing the chef to provide another set of orders for me and she will settle all issues with Just Eat. After waiting for a short time, the waitress came out with my fresh order and warmly apologise for the inconvenience. Great service. The food is amazing. My kids love the burger and fries. They cannot settle for one burger and fries anymore. Note: The question that arise, is the portioning.

Visited for the first time yesterday for lunch with some friends & was thoroughly impressed. We booked last minute and managed to get a table. Staff were very friendly and catered to all of our dietary needs!! Restaurant is very cosy and bas a warm welcome to it. Will most definitely be back next time I visit London as it’s not often we find a hidden gem like this.
