Great authentic Indian restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Food is superb. Get down here for a taste sensation. Staff are brilliant 👌

Pre booked large party table. Service was incredibly slow and no apologies offered as to why we were waiting so long until we asked (apparently under staffed). Tables arriving after us were served before us. 3 hours in the restaurant before we were done! Food was nice but wouldn’t rush back given the slow service.

What lovely and welcoming Indian restaurant. Food is fantastic and are large portions and very reasonably priced honestly check out the menu the price you pay and what you get is unbelievable. They have a good selection of wines and spirits and also have Indian beer cobra ect. I would highly recommend I've been going for a while now and have enjoyed every meal thankyou to "The Crown Jewel" for many a pleasant evening and will be back soon! 😊

Had a chicken curry with naan (well fired as I like it) it was absolutely delicious The best Indian in town with attentive staff but the food is the crown jewel here.

ordered set meal for collection chicken bhuna and chicken roganjosh. after we got home on opening curries they were incorrect. they were both same tomato based curry with a hint of chilli. they were both watery and bland, completely inedible. not what we ordered. we ended up having chips for our saturday evening dinner, rest binned. seems to have gone downhill. wouldn't recommend and will not be ordering again from here. the man at door was friendly but don't know if they mixed our order up.

We had the misfortune of ordering a takeaway from this restaurant & the curries were the worst tasting we have encountered, revolting, we will not be back.

We ordered a Take Away for collection on a Saturday night. We have ordered many times. Food is always fresh and the options selected (regular, madras’ vindaloo) are always provided. Fish pakora is delicious. Breads options are fresh and well made. Vegetarian selections are plentiful and very tasty. There was a mixup with our order, which was corrected immediately, with no fuss and excellent service. Recommend the food and service. All delivered at reasonable prices.

Sorry but food arrived cold and wet

Should have gone with my gut feeling when myself and husband arrived. This place was a bit bare, with wooden tables and chairs, not inviting at all. Staff were pleasant enough, though they looked like they could all be doing with a good scrub and clothes not much better. Cutlery was old, cheap paper napkins and dishes not much better. My husband ordered chicken buriani, and I had chicken tikka south Indian garlic chilli chicken with rice and garlic nan. The chicken was like rubber, but the sauce was nice. The rice was really dry as if it had been lying for a time. The waiter asked what was wrong as we didn't eat much. I told him it wasn't very nice and asked for the bill. The manager came and I told him how I felt about the food. He became defensive but said he wouldn't charge us for the buriani, which I was happy with. I would avoid this place bit of a dump, to be honest. Standards terrible for a so-called restaurant.

Beautiful food, great communication and go the extra mile to solve any issues. Highly recommend.

On arrival food was piping hot and was absolutely delicious. Chicken chaat is the best I’ve ever tasted plenty of chicken highly recommend.

I don’t very often write reviews but this restaurant with its excellent food and outstanding customer service is a rare thing. My wife, son and I will definitely be back soon.

Fantastic food and service tonight in the lovely surroundings of the Crown Jewel. It's a great local restaurant with high quality food cooked to your specification. Prices are very reasonable too. Staff can't do enough for you. Highly recommended.

chicken curry was bland with watery sauce

First time ordering from here and definitely not the last. Delivery was quite pricey at £5 but the food was here in 25 minutes and piping hot. Peshwari naan delicious, lentil soup like your granny makes but with a bit of a kick and the Goan fish curry might be my new favourite Indian dish.

Really enjoyed it and happy to order again.

I’m surprised as I’ve eaten from here before however one curry was bland & the other smelled very buttery but was horrible to the taste. The pakora wasn’t fresh either. The poppadoms were nice as was the Nan bread but that was about it.

Outstanding food & service at this gem of an Indian restaurant. Poori Starter is fantastic as is the Chilli Masala & Karahi Curries I tried. Nan & Rice were cooked to perfection as well. Great Value, a must visit if you like Indian Food.

Outstanding quality, value & service. Went with a friend on Sunday with a Groupon deal. The welcome we recieved, food quality/portions & choice available was second to none. The Poori starter & Chilli Masala main where exceptional. A must visit for anyone who enjoys Indian food.

Great dinner, bit of a mix up with the order and the bill but cannot complain at all with the quality of food and drinks at the price. Would recommend!

Food ok, poppadoms good. Biggest issue, they charge 20% VAT on the bill but say they cannot locate their VAT reg no for a business client to be able to recover the VAT. Something fishy going on there!

Great restaurant. The cooks are magnificent and I would urge anyone who likes Indian food to go here. Simply devine. Staff are amazing and now fully licenced. My mum took a bad turn and the owner didn't hesitate to get help. My full gratitude and thanks for his swift actions and concern. Top marks on a most fantastic meal experience.

Food was so bland and just not what I was expecting from a curry ,probably the worst 26 quid I’ve spent in a long time .

No apologies needed for early delivery as that was ideal for us. All items were hot and ready to eat. Starters were fresh and tasted great. The chicken and beef dishes were good.

Takeaway arrived pretty much on time. Chips were cold/soggy,,veg pakora was cold/hard.Rice was hard/luke warm. South indian garlic chilli which i asked for medium was far too spicy (and i like a spicy curry) it tasted more like a phaal. Pretty much entire meal was binned and wouldnt use crown jewel again. Maybe just an off night as reviews seem good but once bitten twice shy they say.

First time trying as had good rating of stars. Do not fall for this. Cold on arrival pizza under cooked and I thought I ordered from an Indian? This looks like an Italian pizza to me. Big fat under cooked chunky chips. Horrendous

This is a great restaurant with a great range of delicious Indian food at reasonable prices. You will find all your favourites as well as some superb speciality dishes. There are plenty of vegetarian options as well. The set menus are generous and great value. The service is also attentive, quick and friendly. It's easy to park nearby and is accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs. Although it doesn't bother me personally, the restaurant doesn't have an alcohol licence and I think this keeps people away so it's usually quiet and lacks atmosphere.

we were looking forward to trying the crown jewel again after it being closed for a while. We were really disappointed as the quality has definitely dipped, rice chips and pakoras were very dry, vegetable bhuna was practically just mushrooms and the food wasn’t very hot.

Really disappointed with the food. The curry’s were both watery. The chicken in them was a bit chewy and noticeable reduction in amount of chicken.

An unusually bad experience after ordering a takeaway. Ordered chicken Tikka masala but its certainly not what we got; the sauce was really watery and totally tastless. The chips were quite simply inedible and went straight in the bin. Also waited an hour and 45 mins only for the food to arrive stone cold. Can only imagine it wasnt the usual chef as we've eaten form here on a number of occassions and had no complaints.

Went on Christmas day with the family. Food was great. Service was excellent. Definitely going back for more.

Had a fabulous lunch with mu Mum today, food was so fresh and tasty. Best dopiaza ever, tasted immense. Great value for money, lovely service and we will definitely be back.

What a night! Order was delivered late and wrong. What a turnaround though head chef delivered the correct order himself. So impressed with customer service, I have no doubt this is the best restaurant in the area and have no hesitation in recommending

Boiled rice was hard at parts as if not cooked properly and chicken pakora was burnt to a crisp. Was solid and we couldn’t eat it
