Went for the saddle up event and had a really good night, quite disappointed there wasn't any food as stated online.

Empty bar staff obvs hate their job esp one rude girl ! Music like been taken back to 1980.

Both managers who work here are fantastic I paid 8 quid for tickets for semi final to find out it's free entry they admitted it was the fixr tickets company and they helped me straight away and said to come Sunday and sort me out free round of drinks. I arrived and different manager heard me straight away and was super kind and checked and even gave me free entry it's a beautiful venue and nice atmosphere 👌

brilliant for 18 year olds, bit much for anyone over 21.

Chilling and freezing tempratures inside no insulation or heating systems inside i wasted my 6 pounds for entry and even the dj was worst

The place looks nice and the staff are great. It can be a bit cold inside and a bit pricey

I hosted a 24/18th Birthday party last weekend and thanks to Cam it was a memorable night. It’s the second year in a row that I’ve hired the venue for my birthday and I look forward to many more. Big shout out to Cam for helping with the surprise for my younger brother and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. He even went to another venue on the night to get us a microphone 😂.

Held a private party for an 18th birthday in house of Hugo. Found the events team to be really helpful from the time of enquiry through to the event. Communication was excellent throughout. Great venue for a party with facilities to use your own DJ and decks though their sound system.Cameron was the events manager and met us in advance to view the venue and to help set up and was at the event to oversee things. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a venue including for an 18th or 21st birthday.

Crystal smashes any other venue out of the water when it comes to functions. Amazing venue. The bookings team is so so good. They reccomend an Amazing DJ and other companies like balloon complies. Couldn't have gone any better.

Crystal for a function is one of the best in Sheffield. We have House of Hugo and it was sick. Cameron on the bookings team couldn’t do more for us!!

I hired house of Hugo for my sons joint surprise birthday party. And it couldn’t have gone any better. The books team couldn’t have done more to make my sons 18th and 21st birthday any better. Exceeded my expectations by far. And the venue is beautiful.

Racist staff, completely disregarded POC customers and called us racial slurs

riiight came here last week drinks and atmoshpeere ver nice buut very very crowed could barely get to the bar wondering how they let so many people in at the same time not very safe

I got assaulted by a bouncer cause he accused me of stealing, I tried to comply with him but he didn't listen

Dirty broken seating place stank of mould and spew leaking roof water spillage drink watered down £10 for 2 watered down gins toilets dank and dark ..over all the place is filthy

🔥🔥🔥lovely club plays hip hop, amapiano and afrobeats 🔥🔥🔥 would definitely recommend for a night out... A bit on the expense side but totally worth it... they also charge a small entrance fee.... for a truly epic night a group of friends should budget £100/person

My son was attacked by the security staff and punched and kicked in the head by 4 bully staff bouncers . I thought bouncers were not allowed to touch people ? He’s got footage which I’m seeing too that all the national and local papers are sent the video of the bully security staff beating a defenceless lad on a 21st birthday who has a foot mark across his cheek broken nose and marks all across his neck from being grabbed and dragged . Won’t be long before they kill someone !

Great place for a party, excellent night

Went on Asian night where Asian music was promised. Nothing about the night was Asian. The music was boring and repetitive. The drinks were overpriced and weak. The floor was slippy and bathroom was downstairs so that's just an accident waiting to happen.

No worries if drinks getting warm bloody freezing no heating could even see your breath warmer outside than in

Sat waiting for an hour and being told to wait in other bars after purchasing 2 tables and then being expected to pay £7 per person for entry rather than the pre-arranged £3 per person... Needless to say we won't be spending our money here again.

We held our conference party at Crystal Bar in July 2022 and hired the entire venue. Ash and his team were amazing, helpful, flexible and did their upmost to ensure our delegates had a great night. Thanks to the entrire team for all their hard work!

First of all, love going to Hallamnation on Wednesdays the top floor is always packed and plays some great music - the best place for students on student night. Also had a table booked with VIP packages for drinks on a weekend which we all really enjoyed - VIP staff were great, music was good and the security made us feel safe and welcome. 100% recommend!

Went to Crystal bar last night will never be going back I was shouted in the face by a bouncer and my boyfriend was punched in the face by a bouncer, these are the people who as supposed to protect us not assault us

Hired the ‘house of gin’ room January 2022, the events manager (Jardel) was more than accommodating just wonderful. Constantly checking in, answering any questions and recommending a dj/room decorator when I asked. We had full capacity and there was still enough room to socialise and dance without it feeling too full. The bouncers and bar staff were lovely too. Everything was wonderful and ran smoothly, couldn’t recommend enough

Booked a table at Viper Rooms to be turned away when me and a group of friends got to the door, was given no reason as to why they wouldn't let us in. A doormen from Crystal spotted how badly we had been treated and contacted the manager for us.. They put on a last minute table with drinks saving our night as we had travelled from out of town.. Cant thank the doormen and staff enough.. Great place with a good atmosphere..

Never again!! Booked vip, yet everyone just came in and took over, when confronting them WE was kicked out bouncers threw my friend to the floor!! No way of complaining to anyone! Awful place!

Absolutely great night organised by Crystal. Organised everything including food and DJ which were both fantastic! Went above and beyond to cater to any needs , very helpful and made private venue hire so easy. Lovely staff, would 100% recommend- thank you!

I hired a function room at Crystal in September 2021 for a private party. It was a very easy process to book. Any questions I had between booking and the event were answered promptly. On the night staff were helpful and very efficient working the bar. I will definitely be returning for a follow-up event.

Turned away on a Friday as didn’t have a student ID. Been literally every week since reopening and because I’m not a “fresher” door staff refused entry. Talk about feeling appreciated for giving them my hard earned money when no students were around. Now lost a customer as clearly not valued. Won’t be returning. Recommend if not a student to go somewhere who would value you your business

We held my daughters 18th birthday party in the House of Gin(Crystal Bar) Sheffield. I can honestly say that from the initial booking (Ash) to everything on the night (from the bar staff, bouncers on the doors, buffet, DJ) everything was absolutely perfect, we were able to decorate the room and if I would definitely recommend it for any celebration at all.

Was supposed to be a joint event with the vipers, with shared prices etc. Spoke to the manager at vipers who agreed yes, this was the case. Crystal bar staff refused and continued to charge extortionate rates despite door men also knowing this should not be the case 🤷🏼‍♀️ For the venue, it costs way too much- save your time and money, go up the road to players or down to dove and rainbow...

Rude staff - security guards in particular

Very rude and racist staff. Didn’t wanna throw the race card however when I came for nye the security staff made me pay at the door again even though I had my ticket on my phone and explained I had to pay again because of “what my people done” and then laughed. Strongly recommend you come as a group and stay cautious of the security and staff if you’re an ethnic tryna come here.

Rude security thinking it’s a top five club in London. Checked especially me because of cultural background more than others and grabbing my wallet out of my pants without asking. Did not let my friend come in because he was not dressed well enough, but he was indeed but his cultural background was probably the problem. Other students of us could pass easier. Btw we have been there for a birthday. The music is really bad the club itself as well. I was already inside once and I can recommend any other club more than Crystal in Sheffield.

Terrible place Manager looks like a horse

Worst bar I've been too, door staff apart from one was ridiculous.... Complete chaos. No hospitality, the volume of people was dangerous and seems like Crystal has forgotten even though its a club we're still CUSTOMERS. Will not be going there again. I hate leaving bad reviews but I was disgusted.

The bouncers let me & my sister in but not her Asian boyfriend . Their excuse was "He wasn't dressed right for the night" Even though he clearly was. He had shoes on with trousers & a shirt. I then heard them radio in to the other bars near by to not let us in. I hate to use the race card, but clearly this was a racist decision.

Completely unfriendly atmosphere with poor staff, whilst down carver street there are many other places that are better to visit.

NEVER EVER GO TO CRYSTAL. They completely screwed our group over. We turned for a private room and when we turned up they claimed it was the wrong time even though it was booked for the entire night. CAN I REITERATE TO NEVER GO TO CRYSYAL EVER. The staff were rude and quite invasive. We paid crystal in advance and not only did they not let us have our private room they also were trying to make us pay for entry. This was a break of contract and honestly they owe our society quite a lot of money. This is very sad as it was our university leaving ball and was our last chance to all hang out. They have complete ruined the experience and were honestly the worst night out we’ve ever had as the MBB (molecular biology and biotechnology) society. To be honest they owe us money because we had already paid for entry but they didn’t let us in and the people working on the street pretended they were the manger even though they obviously weren’t (they literally looked like 1D clones). This entire experience was incredibly aggravating and NO ONE SHOULD EVER GO TO CRYSTAL. I can see why it appeals to basic Made in Chelsea rejects, but any normal/educated person should NEVER ATTEND AN EVENT AT CRYSTAL.

Was out for what was supposed to be a calm night out when me and a friend was assaulted, we did the right thing, we didn’t fight back or agrevate reported the incident to the bouncers which had the reverse effect of what it was supposed to do, we got kicked out and threatened by the staff even tho we where injured (a couple back eyes and a broken jaw bone resulting in permanent damage) just a unsafe, in professional venue

This bar used to have a little class to it, now due to the music being played its attracting “wannabe gangsters”. Shame as it really does have potential to set the standard as a bar that people would like to end the night in... personally with a good hand full of pwople I know LOVED this bar, now we’d prefer to just go home earlier rather than listen to the shite played there with kids jumping about like clowns. Maybe switch it up to a chilled house music then you wouldn't attract morons!! NYE 2017 shows the clientele...

Rude bouncers and staff, speak to you like your nothing and if your not below a size 10 you won’t get in!!!!

Was booked for VIP table for 12 people for a birthday to discover that they are unable to cater for this amount of people as the booth had room for 7 people only. Staff was rude and said if we wanted a larger booth it is £500 upfront. As they were unable to cater for larger parties we asked for deposit money back of which they argued it was not paid fortunately we had proof of reciept they wanted to see once they realised it was paid they said that we couldnt have the deposit back until monday. Really rude manager would never recommend paying for VIP and more than likely never return.

Absolutely shocking! People are so rude, full of 40 year olds, it's more of a bar then a club, don't ever know why it says nightclub in small writing! Girls need to smile instead of having a face like a slapped arse! Would not reckon the place and never going back!

Staff on door rude and arrogant, racist and didn't let me in because I am not English. Will not be back in a hurry as felt embarrassed and angry at being asked to leave the queue. On top of this, the group I was with had to leave hence losing business for the club. 1 star is a generous rating!

R&B/Hip-hop music venue. We came early and got in without cover. Wish the tunes the DJ played were better/more current. Played some good oldies though

The only good thing about this place is that if you set it on fire it may spread to and destroy the Viper Rooms with it. Chav central.

The bouncer tonight was ridiculous and completely out of order, he shouldn't be working if he can't contain his anger. It was awful to watch and I personally won't be returning if that's the kind of people you hire.

We had a NYE VIP party in crystal bar. Staff was friendly and we've got everything that we ordered. DJ and music were not very impressive, it was pretty basic. They closed the place at 3am although it said 4am.

Multiple rooms with great music in each.

Expensively good, went for a staff party and half enjoyed myself. Isnt the place I'd choose myself but don't let that put you off. It's clean, current and they've updated the place in the last year.
