When I googled the opening hours of this cafe it said 09.30,it finally opened at 10.15. We had a coffee and a slice of cake each, both ok.

.... if only we lived closer we would be regulars. Friendly warm welcome accompanied delicious cheese and bacon toasties & gorgeous cake - lots of choice and the coffee is really good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, it's a gem.

We had a fabulous lunch here today. We all had toasted sandwiches which were delicious, we were greeted warmly and the service was impeccable. Will be going again.

Lovely staff and they're dog friendly. Nice tea and coffee. Water outside for our hound and we were given some dog biscuits too.

I see there are some negative reviews, which are difficult to understand. My wife and I had lunch there twice while staying in a holiday cottage two minutes' walk away. The two staff were friendly and efficient and were happy for us to take our dog inside (there are also tables outside if weather is fine). A nice selection of food and more upmarket than we expected. And the slice of carrot cake we had was twice the size you would normally get. Even though we shared it we couldn't eat it all so they gave us a 'doggy bag' to take it away. Very decent coffee too. Prices we thought were reasonable and we would happily eat there again. The café is set in Buckingham Park, a large well maintained area of grass, football pitches, wooded copses, a children's playground, and even a free outdoor gym. Well worth a visit both for the park and the café.

Shame really that the guy working there is gone. He was the soul of that place we thought the cafe was his for the way he used to treat the place and the people, always welcoming, friendly, caring for your wellbeing. The place still awful as the deco was good like ten years ago, but place don't move forward stil stuck in the past. Overpriced and the people who work there just seems to make the most of a depressing place.

Yesterday was a fab day and kids loved the park. Weather was gorgeous and it's great having this cafe right next to the park and the food and drinks and ice creams are lovely. Nice staff and a nice atmosphere. So handy to have it right where the park is. Great place. X

With this place having so many customers, you would think that they would have fair prices, but it's the opposite! Honestly a mess in there as well... 1/5

Great little place, needs redecoration, but seems is not being redecorated due to circumstances out of they control, that's what the guy there told me, when I asked. The cakes are brilliant, loads of variety to choose from with an extensive menu of lovely food made in situ. But the best thing is the staff , they are super friendly the owners with her pettycoats and the spanish guy are a great double act, recommend if you take dog for a walk stop by.

Go here quite a lot, especially in summer when dog walking as can sit outside. The cakes are wonderful, but it is quite pricey for a cafe. Staff are normally friendly and welcoming - my only criticism would be one very young lady needs to learn how to make tea!

The waterside has been a local of mine for over 30 years. It's had its ups and downs ,over the years, with numerous landlords/ landlady's, but since Hannah took over the reigns, the pub has only gone one way, and that's up. The majority of the bar staff all work in harmony with one another, and two of them stand out more than the rest. Don't get me wrong, they all work hard here, but Janet and bex go above and beyond to give you the best experience this place has to offer. Well done, girls, keep up the good work. Let's move on to the food. So I've just returned from the Canary Islands and hadn't eaten for approximately 24 hours,so I decided to pop in to the waterside and how pleased I did. Chris, the head chef, was on shift, which is always a bonus. His passion for cooking really does shine through on the food he puts together and adds his own little touches to his dishes, and they are truly tasty. Hannah, the landlady,Janet and bex, front of house who are the best best bar staff ever, and chris the chef, you are all incredible. Keep up the amazing work you all do.

Cosy, real wood fire, fairly roomy. Ye olde world feel, and delicious food. The Thai we had ( green and king prawn curry) was the tastiest I have tried in years, and that includes the Thai restaurants we have eaten in. We'll done to all the staff there we shall return in the new year for sure. All in all, it is a lovely traditional pub with very tasty food.

Asked for crisp bread...got it. Asked for thin sliced Donner....got it. Flavour was bang on. For the first time in a long time from a Kebab shop I got the Donner Kebab I wanted. My walk is an 8 minute walk & even after getting home and plating it up it was still warm & the bread crispy. I don't know where they get there meat but it was absolutely bang on. I'll be going there from now on even if they do think I'm a weirdo & a little grumpy towards me. Best Donner in Shoreham by sea...in fact best Donner for miles around no doubt. Cheers 👍
