Curry Raj in Bristol, City of

Contrary to the the opinions of other reviews on here, I have always found this restaurant pleasant and delectable. Big up my G's. Large up yourselves everytime. Watery Dahl but all round expeditiously served and tantalising to the palate.

Our normal go to Indian takeaway, not any more. Tonight's offering was terrible, I'm reluctant to use the word 'disgusting' but hugely undercooked Onion Bhajis which were inedible. Raw naan bread, rice massively overcooked (and clumped) mains swimming in oil. Awful, truly awful....such a shame from our normal takeaway. Won't take the chance again.

Quite new to the area and ordered from here as it was rated highly on Just Eat. It was probably one of the worst curries I’ve had tbh. Garlic rice had no flavour at all, the chicken masala was very bland and the keema naan was not fresh at all and just tasted a bit weird. Tandoori chicken starter was the only thing I enjoyed and the delivery guy was nice. Cost £23 and I could have made much better with a pataks paste from the shops. Would def not order from here again!

First time of used curry raj... as it was recommended to me by a couple of different people.. I must admit due to some of the reviews I was a little hesitant, however it was really really good 👍🏻 I highly recommend it I had chicken vindaloo pilau rice and onion bahjees all superb. All ordered and delivered within 40 mins.

Possible the most unpleasant experience with curry I've ever had. And that's coming from someone who was hospitalised in India with food poisoning. We only tried two things before putting the whole order in the bin. The onion bhaji was simultaneously burnt and raw while dripping with grease. After abandoning that I tried the lamb dhansak and found human hair in the first spoonful. Everything from the 6/7 dish order went in the bin at that point. The restaurant offered to cook something else, but I was not prepared to eat anything else that came out of that kitchen.

Not only was the order late but the salad was missing the restaurant offered £3.00 off next order first time using will not be ordering again from here and certainly not recommend to anyone

Atrocious service. Pathetic delivery service. Misplaced orders. PATHETIC.

We ordered 2 days in a row first day the food was great so we decided to order the same thing on the following day…the quality of the food was absolutely awful as you can see from the picture the chef didn’t even bother mixing the rice properly with the meat and was absolutely tasteless.phoned up the restaurant to enquiry about it the guy phone was very rude so decided not to talk any further but leave a review.now it’s for you to decide whether you want to order from this place or not…

Ordered food from here at 6pm and heard nothing from the takeaway. 2 hours later we tried calling the takeaway more than a dozen time's but the phone line was engaged on each occasion, so was unable to speak with someone. We live roughly a 5 minute drive but a 20 minute walk from the takeaway. Weather wasn't great and we don't have a vehicle, payment was also made online. We decided that our food wasn't coming so ordered from elsewhere. We start eating our food from the 2nd place and a knock on the door at 9.30pm. It's our delivery from this place which took 3 hours and 30 minutes to be delivered. We were so angry but accepted the food because it had already been paid for. Avoid if possible and DON'T PAY FOR THE FOOD ONLINE!

Ordered this curry last night, tasted absolutely amazing! Very reasonably priced and very quick delivery

I've ordered takeaway from here maybe four or five times and not once have I had an order that didn't leave me disappointed in one way or another. Usually, the order takes twice as long as suggested to arrive, but in other instances I've found a dish missing from thr order. The food itself is fine, but there are other restaurants that give food just as good if not better, but where I've not had these issues. Order from here at your own risk

Had deliveries from here many time for dinner. Doesn’t matter which day of the week or which time you make an order, they always deliver extremely late despite they says it would be delivered between 30-45mins, it always takes at least 1hr 30mins. We even ordered at 5pm when they opens, still delivered it just before 7pm. Then they always say - we will make it up to you next time. Not really. Also we had a missing item few times and again, nothing happened next time we ordered. We had enough with this place for being dishonesty. There are a lot better placed in the local have as good foods as this place but much better customer service.

Chicken balti - tray only half full of usual amount of sauce and chicken. Samosas overcooked and partners bhuna also a much smaller portion. Used to be great but going downhill. Delivery driver nearly hit my partners new car aswell.

Cancelled our order after half an hour of waiting, won't pick up calls or tell us why

Order was friendly, very good English. When I got there, extremely friendly staff. Then when I got home and eat the curry it was outstanding. Really good please try this place

if I could post ZERO I whould food flavourless rita slit pakora look an tast like ther just reheated not fresh salad not nice frozen samosa for what thay charges me these are in tesco 20 for 399 popperdom where stale tried to xall the restaurant to speake to the manager man on fone hung up then rang back when I question the food he admitted pakora an samosa frozen not fresh an got rude when I ask for the manager an when he be available

Worst takeaway ever as half the food never arrived and when talking to the restaurant they could not care less as the money was in the bank. Never order from here and do not trust Just Eat as they are just as bad,

My first experience of Curry Raj has been very positive. We ordered over the phone, spoke to a very nice gentleman who was very helpful when ordering GF items. Food was decently priced. Our food arrived in good time, the deliverer called us to let us know he was nearly arriving, he was also very friendly and met us where we asked. Food was hot and very nice. I will definitely be ordering again!

We ordered a takeaway from these guys last night. The food arrived on time and was hot enough to eat. Portions were good and it all tasted nice. Only thing I’d change is to write the actual dish on each container. Other than that, fantastic!

Have tried a lot of curry houses in Bristol (and in fact across the U.K. and Australia) this was LOVELY. Best mint sauce and popadums I’ve had. Kids loved it all too. Good size portions, fresh and tasty. We’ll be back.

I don’t normally bother writing reviews but when I saw Raj had 3 stars I did. Portion size is good food was excellent. Chicken tikka starter was melt in the mouth and the lamb Bhuna was lovely as it was last time. Only ordered from here twice after moving from the other side of town where Paprika was the best. This is our new favourite Indian takeaway and we’ve tried at least 10.

Missing the poppadoms and chutney from my order. Very annoyed as they're my favourite part of the meal 😆 only managed to get a partial refund through just eat... won't order again as my chicken biryani was nice... but only average.

We’ve had a few takeaways from Curry Raj, arrived fresh, hot & within delivery time with delicious authentic Indian flavours. We really like the meal deals & orders over £20 a free side, our favourite is Saag Aloo. Great value! I don’t normally write reviews but I really feel Curry Raj definitely deserves my 5 Stars

Amazing curry dishes! We wanted Indian takeaway on Tuesday evening, but most of them were closed, so we ended up ordering from this place. It was slightly more expensive then the other places I have ordered from, but it really paid off. The dishes were very tasty and decent in size. After 15 mins it was ready for collection. I will definitely try them again.

I’ve been ordering from them for years but sadly quality and customer service has gone down hill. Last 3 orders items have been missed off, sides are watered down to a soup and it’s arriving warm at best. Such a shame as they were a firm favourite for a long time.

This is a surprising gem unearthed through just eat, aside from the overcooked meat in the lamb Madras, (hence the 4 stars not 5) , the rest of the meal was great. The chicken korma had huge chunks of chicken breast and a lovely sauce. Bombay potatoes are excellent. The rice's were tasty fragrant and light. Reasonable prices and fast delivery. Will definitely use again .

DON'T GO TO CURRY RAJ!!! Used to be my favourite until I was eating and pulled a HUGE black hair out of my mouth that was in the bottom of my curry. Made me feel sick. Called multiple times to complain and kept being told a manager wasn't available until they just started hanging up on me. Absolutely disgusting.

The horrific shocking food really drove my attention away from Indian/English culture. The delivery man was disorganised: he gave us the wrong order. He greeted us with with ni how instead of namaste-which totally ruined the Indian mood. Instead of fresh chicken tikka massala he gave us the stinking fish curry with lenil soup ( who offers curry with lentil soup!). You know this guy should be given the noble price for poor expectancy standards. Do not order unless if you like appalling Chinese accents with Indian replying are you Mr and Mrs Ali

Ordered our food at 21:06 but the food didn't arrive until 11:00. That was very frustrating and we didn't even get any compensation for the long wait. On top of this the food was below its usual quality the food here has been great in the past but today it was very disappointing. I hope this doesn't happen again and would like to hear back from the restaurant regarding review.

The food arrived really late and although warm was not good quality, the rice was undercooked and the saag paneer was tasteless 🙁 really disappointed

Lovely food as always, but for once we were organised and ordered it well in advance, asking for it to be delivered at 7:30. Got to us at 7:55, which kind of defeats the object of ordering early and specifying a time!

By far the worst Indian food I have ever tasted! Naga curries are supposed to be spicy and bitter, what I received was sweet, greasy, and had pieces of reconstituted chicken floating in it. The vegeatable side dish was bland and full of dark red food colouring. Food really bad and went in the bin, but delivery was very fast.

The only letdown were the chips, which tasted cheap like warmed-up mcdonalds'. Everything else was good-to-great.

I'm newish to Bristol and I've only ordered from Raj because so far it been good quality, with good service and always on time if not early. I won't be ordering from anywhere else as I've no need to. well done all at Raj!! the delivery guys are always polite and friendly, the food is fresh and full of flavour so what more could I ask for!? again thank you all at Raj!

Found the rice and naan bread nice, the chips were chewy and chicken tasted quite dry. Food wasnt hot hot.

Food is good, but while I waited I had to listen to Islamic prayer music playing on TV very loud.

The actual curry was delicious, however the chicken pakora was not pakora. It was a breaded chicken nugget

Portions were annoyingly meagre -wanted a filling meal, just got loads of sauce with 6(!!!) prawns in it. it was soup, NOT curry. tasty, but not filling or satisfying at all. Rip off.

Well, it was very easy to order, and very quick. I was actually ordering for my son in Bristol, but I live in London. I've rung him since the order to find out if he enjoyed the meal, and he said it was delicious, so everything was good.

The best Indian food I have ever tasted! It arrived before the estimated time which wasn't a bad thing as we were hungry! Highly recommended & will definitely order from them again. Thank you 😀

Cheese naan was filled with synthetic cheese, like cheese slices, which wasn't pleasant. Also, the chicken pakora was very dry. I didn't eat either of these dishes. Food was very hot and earlier than expected though, so no issues with service!

normally i get good food from here but tonight the delivery was late the food i had,had to be heated up in the microwave also my main dish was only half filled i normally go to the shop and get my food over the counter but i think its time to go else where not happy about this delivery.

Food was flavoursome but turned up cold. When we ordered we were told delivery would be at 21:05 (~55min wait). Didn't turn up until 21:30 (1hr20min) and was cold! Was hardly a complicated order either with only 2 currys, 2 naans and some poppadoms

jalfrezi could have been a bit more interesting, saag paneer was good, Bhaji was very oily. Delivery was extremely quick which made up for it all! Would use again.

Excellent food and I would HIGHLY recommend delivery. The driver who delivered my food was hilarious. He cracked jokes and was just generally brilliant. In fact the driver really made the whole experience pretty good. Like the food was great don't get me wrong but the driver.. that driver was fantastic. Thank you little dude at my door. Food was delicious . However i asked to pay cash and when they arrived at the door they couldn't give change. Next time I think they should bring a lil money in pocket just incase people don't have exact change.

Food came pretty much exactly on time, the delivery guy was friendly but the food was ok. Butter chicken and korma were basically the same curry and the chicken was quite dry. Onion bahjis and naan bread were good though. Two bahjis in a portion so don't make the mistake we made and order two lots as they are massive!!

The Chicken tikka masala was good. But the Chicken korma was absolutely awful. It looked like there was an ocean in the bowl we put the korma into.

The Vegetarian korma was a watery sauce with a potato, a sprig of broccoli , a whole shredded onion and some peas. The naans were doughy and damp from travel (condensation from the packaging). Probably won't order from them again
