Such a lovely experience from when we stepped in the front door. We had a table booked but due to the weather arrived earlier than planned. It was a busy Sunday lunch service and the manager seated us early, no problem at all. Our waitress Jenny was super efficient and ensured we had everything we needed. The other guests were friendly as we had our two springer spaniels with us. They were happy to be stayed at by two big brown eyes ! The whole experience was great and when we are visiting family again we will definitely pop by! Thank you.

My first experience of Danson Stables. The food was superb (Sunday roast) Jenny our waitress very efficient and helpful and served us with a smile. The food was reasonably priced - we would definitely come again.

We visited here with our dog for a Sunday roast after a long walk. We were greeted by Jenny who was really attentive, polite and friendly. We ordered a trio of roasts - the portion size was extremely generous. They catered very well for our dog - with a dog station set up with blankets, treats and water bowls and even have a doggy menu. We'll definitely visit again.

Very busy lunch Monday. Had to wait a long time to get served at the bar. But then we found we could order using the app. This made it easier. Food was excellent and sensible pricing.

I attended a wedding reception here on Thursday 02nd January 2025. The food was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. There were over 40 people and we were all served our meals together. The Chef made a special mushroom wellington for me as I was a stand in for another guest who wasn't vegetarian, it was a pleasant surprise and very tasty. The staff were smiley and friendly and seemed to be working very hard to ensure the guests were happy. All in all, a good experience.

Wow!! This Sunday we headed out a little late for breakfast with 2 very good friends. After deciding not to go into a couple of cafes and some interesting heated “discussions”, I, the leader took charge and remembered The Stables. By the time we got here it had just hit midday do we had the choice of breakfast or Sunday lunch. Well the 3 meat roast won!! It was delicious!!! And more than enough.. I actually couldn’t finish it!! But somehow found room for the crumble! With Andy front of house, Katie on the bar and the faultless friendly service from Charlotte it was a brilliant lunch, we will be coming again. Next time bringing the pooch… as he had to make do with a doggy bag. Would highly recommend

What a banging roast thanks to Charlotte who looked after us and Katie at the bar who took our order and gave us a tasty beer to try. Great venue great atmosphere. Andy the manager has a great team get yourself down there.

Had a wonderful welcome as soon as we arrived from Andy. Charlotte was our lovely server, very polite and helpful. Great sense of humour and an assist to the restaurant/bar. We have never been before but we will most definitely be coming back. Rather than breakfast which looked fabulous and was a great price we opted for the roast dinner. Sunday roast - trio meats amazing if that wasn’t enough we had extra cauliflower cheese and a giant pigs in blanket. Wasn’t required as the roast was so big but thoroughly delicious to have these on the sides. Price is shockingly good. 1000% recommend and we will be coming back!

I regret to write to review but I do think it is important that the owner is made aware as it was jaw droppingly bad. On Wednesday of this week, myself, my 6 month old baby, my best friend and her 1 year old and her 95 year old nan went to the stables (opting here over wetherspoons as we hoped it would be less busy). My best friend has recently moved to Folkstone and it means she cannot spend this year with her Nan for Xmas day so this was a special occasion in which she had travelled back for. We were seated promptly and bought drinks at the bar arriving at 1245. We proceeded to order our food at the bar (in the presence of our children and Nan) where no mention of any long waiting times were made…we then proceeded to wait over an hour for our food…my friends nans food (hunters chicken) had to be chiseled out of the bowl it had been served in and was so dry that my friends nans could not actually physically cut it with her knife. My friends chips were cold, while the child’s meal was piping hot. We asked the waitress to please acknowledge the state of the chicken where we were advised to change the order as ‘that was how it was cooked’ -so we asked to change it for the festive sleigh burger which my friend had ordered and had been nice with the exception of the cold chips….we then proceeded to wait a further 45 minutes …meaning my friends 95 year old nan had to eat alone and had waited nearly 2 hours….we were presented at the time of my friends nans 2 hour delayed meal with a bowl of pigs in blankets which ‘had been forgotten’ from my friends meal….and then we had to ask for the children’s dessert which came with the meal (but which had not been flagged to our attention at the til despite us paying for it). The waitress offered zero apology (we remarked on this sarcastically at the time), and were offered initially a refund for the two adult meals. I had paid for my meal separately (a soup) and have to say I thought this was outrageous given the entire meal was ruined and they wanted to claw back the 6£ meal of the child. We were not asked how our food was at any point, received zero apology or notice of a long wait time (particularly upsetting with such small children and an older lady being part of the party!). I believe a wake was occurring at the time which perhaps was the reason for the poor service and food delays…that or such long waits and poor food resulted in a death?! The rest of the pub was quiet and certainly not fully booked so I fail to understand why things were so bad. In the past the stables has been excellent, good service and delicious food -which is why we chose here over wetherspoons despite it being much more expensive. We did receive an entire refund for the food which we appreciate, but ultimately the experience was terrible and we will not be returning for any special occasions. I also think it really needs to be investigated by the owner as it was so avoidable! A real shame. Had there of been more transparency, apology and communication this would have been completely avoidable.

Popped in for a coffee, very quiet and order not delivered after 15/20 mins. I went to enquire and lady behind bar was chatting to people on pc’s to rear who I assume were management. Took a while to finally come over to me and no apology offered by the lady, blaming another member of staff. I was then served, but found the whole experience poor. Coffee was ok and the place always looks great. Need to work on service even when not busy.

Wonderful food and service by Jenny, great night.

Food was okay nothing to shout about, standard pub dishes. The highlight though was the pigs in blankets. Nice crispy bacon on the outside. Expensive for what it is as a whole, expensive beer prices to match. Restaurant was clean and we were seated in a nice warm area. Service was ok, Jenny delivered the food with a smile and was friendly. (Got 20% off the bill for the shoutout) so worth asking for next time you go.

Thanks for the friendly service and the 25% off our meal Jenny, though service was a tad slow. Especially when waiting to pay the bill. The area we were seated was hotter than the Bahamas. Might be an idea to turn the heating down a bit. The food however, was enjoyable and decent portions for the price.

An embarrassing display of ineptitude, was told 20 minutes for a starter, waited an hour. Didn't stick around for the main, as i would have reached retirement age by the time it came. You'd think at £7 a pint they could actually employ enough staff. DO NOT GO HERE.

I am 65 years old and today at the Stables was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. After waiting an hour-and-three quarters for the main course to arrive and then being told "the chef is just preparing a meal for a table of 12 and then he is going to start on yours" we walked out. We paid for our drinks and starters but had we done a "dine and dash" then this would have been no more than this appalling establishment deserved for wasting our time. There is clearly something very wrong with the management of this incompetant shambles of a place.

Meal not great and expensive for what you got.

Booked a room for my family Xmas party. 37 people. The staff were very attentive, helpful, polite and efficient. The food came out in a timely manner, well cooked, hot And delicious. Would recommend booking an event there

Lovely place in South London, I had a great experience during my last visit to the UK last week, the staff was extremely polite even though English is my second language :) The food was great too and the price was very faur for the lunch my and my fiance had that day and I love how clean and cozy everything was, hope to visit again next winter because the location is very unique!

they are messing up basic orders, cant tell if Staff are demoralised or unprofessional. something has been going wrong there recently

Went today had an amazing meal with amazing customer service!!! Drinks are a little pricey (double vodka £8.50). Great lot of people working there everyone so kind and helpful. Will definitely be back. Thank you all.

good food, service was a bit slow didn't ask if we wanted coffee after , asked for ice cream with a dessert instead of cream , got cream and ice-cream in a seperate bowl a little later halfway through eating dessert

The staff at the pub were lovely. We took our granddaughters 1yr and 3 yrs and Rowan was fantastic as the youngest is dairy intolerant. She asked all the appropriate questions and reassured us that the meal we had chosen was dairy free. Good choice for kids menu and very reasonable. Lots of space, food good. We will be back.

Went there to get a takeaway coffee and was told by the man at the door I would have to wait until everyone was seated b4 I could do that.

I really like Danson stables. The food is nice and with the park walking distance,it's a great place to go for a drink or a bite to eat after a nice walk round the park. Plus, it's dog friendly . Enjoy

First time having the Sunday roast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was just a bit of a let down. Very average roast. Gravy didn't have much flavor, roast potatoes were dry and the vegetables were hard. I wouldn't rush to go back for the roast unfortunately just based on the disappointing food.

Good menu, very reasonable prices and attentive service. Family friendly venue located in a large park. Historic building with a car park. Inside and outside seating.

We waited a while to be seated and when we eventually did ( we had to find our own table said lady behind bar despite us having a booking ) we waited to be served . When no one came I asked where our waiter was only to be told orders are taken at bar unlike other visits . Would have been nice to be informed of this when we were told to find our own seats ! Food was good to be fair . Thought they may be short staffed but then noticed 4 staff at bar !

So me and 11 family members had a meal this Sunday at the stables and it was absolutely superb.Great food absolutely brilliant staff,we were looked after by Rosie and she could not do enough for us.so me and my family will be booking for this Sunday, every single meal was spot on thankyou all so.much

Went for a Sunday roast for the first time here. Really generous portions and loved the unlimited potatoes, yorkshires and gravy. Great service especially by Jenny who patiently went back and forth with all the extra yorkies! Will certainly book to come back again soon.

The place cannot cope ordered 2 coffees waiting over half an hour. It’s not the staff fault there’s just not enough of them. Going to start using the cafe in the Manson.

Shouldn't have to wait 30mins for a cup of coffee! Sausage sandwich awful, seemed like the Sausage had been cooked about an hour before ! Staff seemed more intent on having loud private jokes with each other than attending to customers. Very disappointing 😞

Not eaten in the Stables for some time as the food and service had fallen badly but tried it on sunday 21 its under new management and new staff and its a big improvement very good meals and great service from Carly who got everything we asked for right will be going back.

A huge improvement on a visit a year ago.. so if you haven't been recently the go back. Superb servers and good food.

We held our wedding reception at danson stables. The staff where so helpful always checking in to see if we needed anything. They stored our wedding cake and brought it out for us. They pushed the tables back when the evening dj had started. The food was amazing we chose the deluxe buffet for 60 people. They where so accommodating for our decorations putting them up and collecting. We couldn’t have asked for anything more

Friendly family pub. Sunday lunch is really nice and affordable

We went to this restaurant for a Sunday Roast, but what we witnessed was shocking. A family with young children waited over an hour and a half for their food—and never got served. Can you imagine? They politely asked for updates multiple times, and the waitstaff kept dismissing them with empty promises of “10 more minutes.” To make matters worse, they were told the reason for the delay was that a larger table of about 15 people had to be served first. The family finally stood up and left after such a ridiculous wait, clearly frustrated. And what did the restaurant do? Absolutely nothing. The manager saw them leave but didn't bother to apologise or even acknowledge the situation. It was as if their time—and their business—meant nothing. While we were fortunate to have arrived earlier, so our delay was just about tolerable, the level of indifference we witnessed was beyond unprofessional. How can a place treat its customers with such blatant disrespect? No apology, no attempt to fix the situation—just total disregard. I’ll definitely think twice before going back. This kind of rude, careless behaviour towards paying customers is unacceptable.

The excellent staff are let down by the awful food. It arrived cold and dry. It had clearly been left under the hot lamp for ages and it was just awful to eat. We were sitting in the bar and ordered food and the tall waiter was very attentive and thorough with our food order, caring about allergies and food standards for us due to my wife being pregnant. The food then arrived and was just terrible. It was a forty-five minute wait and somehow the food is cold? How? I do not recommend going here for the food, but absolutely do for the staff, all of them were lovely, especially the lady with the red hair and the tall gentleman who was running around.

Food service finished at 8.00pm. Didn't realise that before we arrived at 7.45pm. What a rush and no pudding. Won't bother again for an evening meal.

Visited yesterday and was very disappointed. Ignored at the door for 5 minutes. Starters arrived then waited an hour for the main meal. Carrots and broccoli missing from the plate, condiments arrived midway through eating, cauliflower cheese was burnt, roast beef was chewy. Despite clear signage saying no dogs in restaurant this was ignored. Some tables were asked if this was ok, some not. Deposit not taken from bill. Just a bit rubbish really.
