We had an enjoyable meal this evening. The food came relatively quickly and was great. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A special thank you to Louise. We will visit again

En route home we were hungry stopped off here as looked quite busy , the menu didn’t really grab us but my partner had the chicken breast burger and chips and I just had loaded nachos with chicken - his was acceptable, not great , but acceptable for the price , mine was shocking !!! Who these days puts that horrible cheese sauce on nachos in a pub/restaurant rather than proper grated cheese ??? It was disgusting and the added chicken was merely from a sandwich style chicken packet it wasn’t even heated up !!! Although the lady who served me drinks at the bar appeared to be the manager and I couldn’t fault her friendliness and welcome , but I would never dine here again , it’s cheap in price for a reason , and I would rather pay double and enjoy my food !!

All staff are amazing and funny! Makes it worth the trip for breakfast having kind professional staff greeting you at the door! Then staff continue to be polite helpful and funny the whole time you visit. Chef Em is bright and bubbly person behind the carvery counter... Yours sincerely Man in the hat.

Great service from start to finish. All the staff were friendly. We all enjoyed our meals and we couldn't fault anything.

We attended for a works party having the Christmas fair - amazing value for money, service was brilliant, all staff were efficient and friendly, the food was hot and fresh, the table was decorated for our festivities too! Fully recommend the party menus.

My daughter took me here morning the Carvery. My first time not hers, but we we've greeted my staff, shown to a table and had a lovely carvery! I'll be coming here again soon!

We as a couple enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the staff were excellent.

We had a great carvery but the cauliflower was rock hard and the meat was cut so thin it was a joke.i think when you pay you should expect a nice slice of meat.roast parsnips would have been a nice touch but overall it was a very nice meal

Had a lovely family meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday tonight, food was lovely as always, a big thank you to Megan for the extra special dessert, it made his day 🙂

We went for a carvery, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

The service was extremely slow 🐌. Some orders completely wrong and a staff member shook her head at us when we brought up the order was wrong. Pudding that should of been warm were cold.

The staff and management were top notch. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

All straightforward pleasant staff and food nice and hot will be back!

Came here 22nd November 2024.had carvery. Tbh was very surprised. Roast potatoes were like jacket potatoes,veg on par. And meat think slices and tasty. Gravy lovely. Can't really fault anything apart from veg could be replenished more. Hardly any mash and veg. But I managed to get what I needed.

I didn't eat here on this occasion, but i have dined here in the past and the food is always freshly cooked, and is beautiful. The staff are polite and friendly and happy to deal with most requests.

I had a large carvery Meal today and it was beautifully 😋 And the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the gravy was beautiful xxxxx

Very disappointed, went for a carvery was not told when we payed at the bar that there was no meat left, so we had to have sausages..

Great food at a great price. Felt a bit squashed in because all the tables are very close together but I can understand they need to maximise how many people they can seat.

Food very reasonably priced yet cooked beautifully.Staff very friendly and helpful,it's a relaxed cosy environment.They serve the food until 9pm and do blue light card discount.They also told us it's undergoing a refurb in new year but until then give it a try..we definitely will go again.x

Since leaving my original review unfortunately I've had a very bad experiance with this place. Placed an order at 15.54 with delivery expected 16.30-16.50 and at 17.54 still no sign of my order. Phoned to find out where my order was to have a very snarky lady on the phone tell me there is nothing they can do and my order wasn't prepared yet, 2hrs later. I then asked to speak to the manager as this service and attitude isn't welcome to be told she is the manager and she's starts to have a rant down the phone. If this is the manager she needs some retraining as this isn't how you speak with discruntled customers. She then puts the phone down rather than resolve the issue. I will not be ordering from them again. Utterly awful experiance and customer service none existent. Do not order for delivery.

Having ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and roastie potatoes to takeaway, I waited 30 minutes and then had to ask how long it would take. The meal came out 5 minutes later. The roasties were delicious however the pizza was burned black on the bottom, but the stuffed crust was barely melted. I enjoy the carveries at this place but would not have a pizza again.

Booked a table for 6:30, arrived and was told just to sit anywhere. Couldn't find a table free that didn't need used glasses or plates clearing. Ended up on take 7 after moving half a dozen glasses and a couple of empty bottles to the side, where they stayed until we had finished our meal and we're eventually cleared away. They looked very understaffed, others who were seated before us had only just got their food after we had eaten our carvery so can't have been a great night. We unfortunately timed our visit with a hoard of screaming children at a birthday bash who seemingly couldn't be controlled by anyone which didn't help. Carvery was nice but all in all a disappointing experience tbh.

Went tonight a spur of the moment decision we haven’t been for a long time. The service we received was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. The drinks were perfect. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and the three members of staff we interacted with were all very polite and friendly. The turkey meat is still the best in the area by far we always enjoy the turkey meat at the De Rhodes.

Breakfast is ok when you drop on items coming out of the kitchen & it's hot. However, with the plates being really cold, everything soon goes cold very quickly.

Consistently a great carvery. Always good service with staff that are always helpful. Value for money too.

Went today for a carvery. Won't be going again meat was thin as owt .dirty place and women's toilets sticky on floor and my son waited half an hour for his food . And our table was dirty too

Truly utterly awful. If you like cold food and a long wait for it accompanied with hurried poor service, this is the place for you. Not an isolated incident either. Avoid and find somewhere better.

Amazing place to eat, we come all the time food is so nice and we will continue coming for the foreseeable! Love it here, Meg is always polite to us and chatty when we come too.

We visited with a large group of 22 for an early lunch carvery and then teatime meal on the same day. We had excellent service from all the staff for both meal times. That said I would like to say a special thanks to Megan who really went above and beyond in staying beyond her hours to ensure the coordination of all the meals out of the kitchen and drinks for so many people. Thank you

This is a nice place. Beer is good, food is good. I like the roast carvery. Staff are great, they make the place feel really homely. Will definitely keep coming here.

Absolutely the best around for a cheap dinner at the best value, our carvery today was out of this world. Pigs in blankets are my favourite! Shout out to Meg she was great with our little boy, really friendly.

Great stop for a quick lunch, we love it here drop in regular. Megan is always lovely and smiley when serving, great establishment!

Called for an early lunch on Thursday and we really enjoyed the food. The new jalapeño doughnuts are amazing! I like the Mac n cheese and it’s now got dough balls with it which I like. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.

We came for breakfast today and it was lovely to see the big variety. I was unsure about breakfast pizza but it was really nice. I like that mushrooms are now included in the breakfast. It was nice and fresh.

Brilliant experience, there's nothing I could fault about it! The food is beautiful, I go 3 times a week. The staff are excellent,megan always makes sure our needs are met,nothing is ever too much trouble.

10/10 service today from Megan, Louise and erica they made our visit a great one. Shutout to the chef food was spot on, definitely my favourite carvery.

Visited today all the staff were very welcoming. Jane served us at the bar and Megan came and had a chat with us, didn’t wait long for the food, ordered scampi with bread and butter. Louise checked everything was ok with our meal and fetched us extra drinks.

I'm being generous with the stars. The staff were lovely but when you order from your table a starter and have to ask where it is to then get your starter and have something missing and have to go find someone to retrieve the missing item it made me feel like well what's the point in ordering from the table if I keep having to get up and find someone to get what I've ordered. Food was good but some wasn't prepared as described

The food is decent but they never clean the knifes and forks and it's absolutely disgusting and it's hard to find clean ones to eat with

The lady at the bar was lovely, the lady at the carvery was downright rude. The system for kids/carvery meals and queue didn't work very well. Pigs in blankets were tiny and disappointing, food was overall just ok.

Pizzas are bang on especially the fajita chicken with salsa,sour cream & guacamole tasted like a burrito on pizza. Sharing Starters are great value for money. Definitely worth revisiting.

Visted many times for breakfast this week terrible. They were so busy packing just eat boxes Eggs you could bounce off the walls ,one egg full of egg shell ,bacon over cooked cold sausage same hot plate looked like world war 3 food every were not very inviting want eat another breakfast here again what a let down.Don't really deserve a one.

Sunday afternoon carvery. Massive queue, stood for 30 mins for the carvery. Tasteless watery frozen?vegetables, rock hard stuffing and possibly the smallest Yorkshire pudding I've seen. 3 pigs in blankets additional £1.49. (cocktail size) Not even worth the weekly price. Nice mash and gravy.

Pending what time of day you go the food can be a bit dry, on a good day it's fine

We were very disappointed with our visit today. We have been going to De Rhodes for years and do expect to have a little bit of a wait for the carvery but we arrived at 3.20pm for our 3.30pm booking and were stood in the queue for 45 minutes to get our carvery. Then once at the front of the queue, 1 family member had to wait another 5 minutes for a yorkshire pudding to complete his meal. In the meantime, our drinks had gone flat on the table as well. Granted the food was nice but not worth a 45 minute queuing time.

Turkey was raw, and desserts was just cream no bits of ice cream. Worst experience

Amazing staff. I can't praise the team enough. Anytime we visit, the staff are super attentive and we feel looked after. The food is not bad either. We only go for a roast or the pizza My only gripe is the decor. It's so old and I'm now 34 years old, I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed since I was a child. The carpets look dusty as well as high up on the ceiling. The dirty looking chairs and sticky tables/menus are just off putting. If they update the place I'd imagine they'd get so much more foot fall. Anyway. Great place in general, it just has a dirty feel about it which is not appealing when you want to eat. Again, the staff are probably cleaning.. It's just old as hell and needs changing now

Had to. Wait for items so queue was veery long as no sausages tomatoes eggs and had to be refunded for mushrooms as they were going to be another 5-10 minutes. They were bringing out food that there was plenty off Due to dietary restrictions nothing I could eat was ready but plenty of other stuff was yet it was those items that kept being brought through from kitchen

The most longest queue for food, we were waiting 40 minutes to get served

Terrible don't waste your money. Six of us went chips cold burger cold two pizzas burnt as for carvery well the man serving had NO customer skills what so ever not a word uttered only MEAT I said beef please just passed the plate still not a word the green beans was all dry i like carrots but not suede so why would you put them together then looking at roast potatoes I was undecided they looked hard as rocks then what really put me of was two long hairs in them my husband told one of the other workers out kitchen he made a joke well its not mine and yes he did swop them but that really put me off sat down to eat I had one fork full and that was it all I could think of was them hairs. So all in all nearly 100 pound what for .... RUBBISH

Stopped off here on a day out. Was greeted on arrival and told we could sit anywhere so we chose a table in the window. We looked at the menu and chose carvery so 2 out of the 3 of us headed to the bar to order drinks and food. We placed our drinks on the table and we all headed to the carvery. As I got to it a member of staff asked if I was sat at a certain table number, to which I didn’t know. She then very publicly said that we are and it was reserved for this family and pointed to a different table. I said we didn’t know it was reserved, we were told we could sit anyone on arrival and there was no sign saying reserved. I’ve never been made to feel so embarrassed in a restaurant like that! She then told me it was fine for now and we didn’t need to move for now. We got our food and sat down but worried the whole time that she would come and ask us to move. I messaged them using Facebook that evening who replied instantly with an apology and that they’d look into staff training. She also confirmed that the table was not reserved and that we were in the right to choose and sit at that particular table. Unfortunately this is not a place I will be returning to!

We are regular visitors here for years! Never been let down, ...oh, except for one time they had a staff shortage and we had to wait a long time for the food. Every other time we pop in, find a table (and it's number), head off over to the bar (short queue or none), order the food and wait. Excellent choice of carvery options. The mashed potatoes are lovely! Average wait for another meal (not a carvery) is about 10/15 minutes. Lovely atmosphere inside even though it's on a rural roundabout! Try it. Its worth it.

2 of 7 meals did not get brought out, including a child’s meal. 5 meals were served after an hour and after 1 hour 30 and multiple requests to staff on the missing meals the other 2 meals were still being prepared. Had to cancel two meals in the end. Very poor

Lovely food very busy, only complaint long queue at carvery and took a long time to get served , problem being the same chef serving meat was also having to stop serving while doing the takeaway meat as well

Vegan carvery option not available. No vegan option on the gravy. Good selection of beers and service was acceptable given how busy it was for Sunday lunch. Booking highly recommended for Sundays.

Worst carvery I've ever had in my life. Peas were like bullets, mash potatoes were hard, roast potatoes tasted disgusting, the meat was fatty & hardly had any on my plate. The best thing was the yorkshire puds (which are obviously frozen ones). Pub is not very clean, and they are far more bothered about the just eats orders than those in the restaurants. Would never ever return again

Nice people. Busy at 6pm on a Friday. Typical Stonehouse food. Busy on a Saturday evening but still a decent place to go.

The staff were friendly on arrival and throughout our meal time. The food was great we had the carvery the meat looked fresh and the veg did as well it wasn’t dry like some places I’ve visited. BRILLIANT keep up the good work. I will defiantly be going there again

Went 4th September for birthday carvery arrived 6: 30 to be told they were waiting on meat for carvey which wouldn't be ready until 7:45 most dissapointed. As we had someone in party with allergies who was unable to have anything off the menu we left.
