De Trafford in Cheshire East

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at De Trafford Arms. The food was hearty, flavourful, and reasonably priced. Helen took great care of us throughout, delivering service that was both friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning!

We have stayed over here about 4 times now, its a great place. Staff are friendly, nice cosy bar and restaurant area. Breakfast was very nice. The rooms are priced well, and in good walking distance to local bars and restaurants. We will be staying again in the near future

Great place, good food, friendly and efficient staff. Prices are good for the quality you get so definitely recommend this place.

We stopped the night in a double room. My son and his partner also stopped in the room opposite. Given the hotels location, my expectation of a decent standard of room was quite high. I was quite shocked and somewhat disappointed as my eyes were drawn to the obviously neglected fixtures. The toilet seat was very loose as was the bath hand grab rail. The door covering in the bathroom was jus awful, peeling off away from the door at the bottom. The bed, whilst serviceable, could definitely benefit from a replacement mattress. The first impression as we drove in to the carpark was great and the reception area was really nice. staff were faultless. From the moment we entered, The young lady on reception was just lovely, from the moment we entered we were made to feel welcome. In the morning, again we were made to feel welcome and the chap in the dining room was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Overall, what could have been an amazing stay only rates an average "Hhmm it was okay" rather than the big thumbs up that I would have expected to be giving you.

Hattie, Helen and Emma were very friendly and welcoming when we popped in for some lunch. Lovely drinks and food and a nice warm atmosphere.

We did not stay overnight, we went to the pub for breakfast with family and we had a warm welcome and efficient service. However, I would not return because although the food was good, I felt that the small portions did not give value for money. The other people in our party were satisfied with their breakfasts, but I ordered the smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs extra, which was £10.50 in total and so I was dismayed to receive a fraction of a piece of toast topped with avocado, alongside the two eggs and half a grilled tomato. As I said, the food itself was tasty but I felt hungry afterwards and subsequently quite disappointed. I don’t like leaving a bad review but would like you to know so you can adjust the portion size of this item to avoid disappointment for customers in the future.

An overnight stay breakfast included. An amazing venue. Lady on reception was lovely really helpful. We arrive early before 14.00 hrs book in. Our room was all ready. Room was spotlessly clean, a queen size bed ( bonus ) tea, coffee making facilities with biscuits ( nice touch ) had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything you could want croissants, cereal, toast etc. Full English was superb. Great quality breakfast faultless ( compliments to the chef ) Will definitely be staying again

Accommodation good. Room clean, tidy and a nice room. Even though we were told the room was due for refurbishment when we asked for an extension to be able to charge our phones. Food was good. The only thing we felt let it down was the Yorkshire pudding with the roast, it was very dry All staff were excellent, attentive and very approachable

Stayed 3 nights, hotel great value and staff excellent and friendly. Location is perfect. Food, didn't realise this was a "Chef & Brewer", dined previously at the Livingston restaurant outside Edinburgh. Unfortunately I chose the Steak and mushroom pie, well sorry to say exactly the same comments as then. Pie looks great but it did contain only 1 piece of meat (1.5 cm.) & 1 mushroom. Bring the food up to the standard of the hotel please

This was my first visit here and was greeted and served by Helen she was very helpful and made our meal experience really good when the food arrived i was pleased with the potion sizes i think the meals are expensive for me , but the food was good, so made up for the cost thanks to Helen everything was fun and will be back

Staying the night as a stop over with my partner before holiday. Had a fabulous meal in the restaurant and was served by Helen! One word FANTASTIC and what a character. Has time for everyone and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will be back!

Went on Saturday 14th September for a meal with another couple. Table 33 And where greated by Helen ( Lady H ) who looked after us brilliantly. She was very attentive to my wife who is severely sight impaired and nothing was to much trouble. Two of us had the pork belly one salmon Wellington and one had chicken. All very well presented and cooked well. Would we go again? Of course we will it's our favourite eating place in the town.

I stayed at this lovely spot for two nights and didn’t want to leave. So quaint and beds very comfy. Staff were so helpful and kind. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Alderley. Can’t wait to go back. The rooms are clean. The rooms are dated. The bed is comfy. There are limited plug sockets within the room. The breakfast is really tasty!

Great stop over with food before flying from Manchester. We have stayed several times. The staff are all amazing and Helen who served us in the restaurant is extremely helpful and welcoming. Rooms are clean, bed comfortable and ideal for a relaxing night before a flight. Car park is free and food in restaurant lovely and reasonably priced. It is 7 ish miles from the airport in the morning and an easy route. We will be back

I called in here with my mum over a month ago and meant to write a review back then but here it is.We were greeted by a lovely lady when we entered ,so down to earth and very helpful,she made us feel at ease straight away.We had lunch ,which was delightful and great value for money but I think it was the staff that made this place memorable for us.The lady behind the bar was a credit to this establishment,whether she was just part of the hospitality team or the owner,( Blonde ,slim ,middle aged lady)she made our stay extremely enjoyable.We will definitely be back.

The review refers only to the restaurant. We don't know the hotel. The pub's premises are attractive and sparkling clean, the waitresses are young and obviously somewhat inexperienced, but very friendly. So there is no criticism here. However, the food - and that's what matters in a restaurant - is a medium disaster: we had different dishes, all unseasoned and bland, nothing tasted right, the meat overall was dry and tough. The previous reviews regarding the food are incomprehensible against this background. It's a shame, the location can certainly do a lot more.

The de Trafford Arms is 15 mins from Manchester Airport, right on Alderley Edge high street. The rooms are comfortable and lack nothing. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is amazing with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. There’s no better place to start your holiday! And don’t forget to do the charity shops 😉

We had walked up to the Edge to view Manchester, it was a lovely sunny day so we stopped off here to sit and relax outside and have a drink after our decent. Really welcoming bar staff, clean tables and great atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and everyone was kind to my grandson. Never seen so many luxury cars passing on the road the pub overlooks, but seems to be a place where enthusiasts parade!

This is the second time we have visited and this was unintentional - we saw the place, thought it looked good and only realised we had been before when we recognised the car park. We were very pleased though, as we remembered it was good and the lovely Helen who had served us....and there she was, smiley and helpful just as before. This time we had 3 different meals from the weekly menu and they were unusual, all beautifully served on the plate and very good eating. Slightly expensive maybe ( average £16.99 a plate) but not much above the standard price found in most pubs now. Pleasant setting and well attended for a Monday lunchtime. Classic pub, lovely service and the food is stunning. Helen who served us is amazing and recommended the lamb shank shepherds pie and it was to die for.

£100 fine for parking in car park when we went for a drink. None of the staff said anything didn’t see sign as was dark. Absolute disgrace

Positives; The staff are excellent. Helen, Lucy and Stephen were all cheerful, helpful and efficient. They did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Negatives; Room 1 was tired and dated, in need of total redecoration. The sockets over the desk are badly placed (this has been mentioned in previous reviews) The lift was not working. The window didn’t shut properly causing noise and a draught. It was impossible to close the door quietly, despite signs asking for consideration to be shown to other guests.

What a place! Amazing food and service. Helen really looked after us. Allergen menu was exemplary and catered for our allergy. Simply cannot recommend enough. Would definitely recommend.

We were told by our hosts at the wizard’s thatch to eat here and were not disappointed at all. Lovely establishment, wide selection of wines, ales and spirits and a great choice of food. They catered for a wide variety of needs and tastes; the chef even accommodated my husband’s request for blue steak! I was more than happy as a non meat eater too! The staff were lovely too, especially Helen, who took the time to make us feel very welcome. Highly recommend to all.

Very nice venue. Rooms in need of refurbishing as very dated. Bathroom very dark and gloomy. Bar area lovely and all staff exceptional, work incredibly hard and a special shout out to Helen and Mike. Xmas Eve meal was delicious, however Xmas day very poor. Starters were lovely but the turkey main needed improvement and all 3 of us did not enjoy it. I do think it was probably a case of the kitchen was overstretched but undercooked Yorkshire, overcooked veg and unpleasant stuffing and pig in blanket let it down.

Flying visit to Alderley edge for some last minute Christmas shopping. Stopped at de Trafford arms for lunch. Helen made us welcome as per usual. Lunch was beautiful as always. See you guys on 28th December
