Deans at Northway in Scarborough

All great apart from One bag of chips missing, and your phone was dead when we were trying to ring you...but first problem we have had, and usually brilliant.

Chips were like rubber and meal was cold unfortunately 😞

The order took a long time to arrive. By the time it reached us the food was just luke warm and the batter on the fish was really oily and soggy. I've eaten Dean's fish and chips before, picked up myself and it was delicious. Unfortunately I don't think they travel well with delivery. I say this all the time, but this is definitely the last time I order from from Just eat or an Uber, it does sting a little paying a lot of money for cold, inedible food. Even if I am feeling a bit lazy that day.

food was cold looked like it had been sat for ages and the paper it was dropped in was wet from where it had been sweating try somewhere else next time

Fish bites substituted to a fish, not great when they were to share. Batter on fish was soft so not easy to split, I do like the batter like so would have been fine had it been for me but not to split up. Chips were scrappy with a lot of hard inedible ones. Scallops were nice and patty was good.

I always order my fish and chips from Deans. The fish was fantastic as always. The chips were a little disappointing this time. A lot of very thin pieces which I couldn’t eat as they were hard and the chips were quite dry however potatoes aren’t great at this time of year so I’m hoping it was just a one off issue.

Delivered a lot later than it should have been, food just to say warm. Didn’t phone to complain as grandchildren were already hungry with having to wait so long. Fish stuck to the paper so it all fell apart. Over all worst ever order. Maybe if you know you’re going to be that busy, get extra drivers so customers get order on time and hot as it should be.

lovely spam fritter with small chips and curry sauce. Proper spam (square) batter was hot and crispy. Chips were lush. Had a portion of scraps, and curry sauce was tasty. Delivered on time, really pleased and would order again.

Excellent fish and chips as always. Can’t be beaten on quality, speed of delivery, happy courier and service.

Food was tasty but the fish and chips with cheese was wrapped all together in paper this lead the cheese to stick to the paper which made the paper greasy and stick to the fish. Spent ten minutes picking paper out of my food. Next time will order it to come boxed or with out cheese.

Regular user of this takeaway and normally fantastic, however tonight's delivery arrived freezing cold, even the curry sauce was cold so must of been half way around Scarborough, no cheese on the cheesy chips and gravy sent instead of mushy peas let's just hope its a one off blip

The meals were nice so can't really complain just a bit sad that the portion size seems a lot smaller than before :(

Needed some fish and chips at short notice, chose this place based on reviews and the fact that they were open on a Monday evening. Decent place, decent food. Returned in 2023 and still as good. The homemade fishcakes are excellent.

Lovely Spam fritter ( genuine square one) fresh and hot, not greasy and really tasty. Curry sauce was delish, and the steak pie was lovely light fluffy puff pastry and big chunks of meat in gravy. Didn't order chips as not eating potato. Would order again x

The food was not as nice as it has been before the small fishes looked way to dark , no large sausages sent small over cooked ones and for the cheese fritter that small I wouldn't of bothered won't get again and with buying for a large family and the amount we spent which wasn't cheap it was not worth it and tea was ruined half was not eaten

First time I’ve ordered fish and chips from just eat. After reading the reviews I chose Deans and I’m so glad I did. The food was excellent, hot and plenty of it. Really enjoyed the batter. Crispy and delicious. Delivery guy was friendly and I will definitely be ordering again. Nicest fish and chips we’ve had in ages.

As usual, the fish and chips are absolutely beautiful, nice and hot and delivery was on time. If you like fish and chips, then you should try Deans and after that you won't be getting them from anywhere else.

Decided to try Deans yesterday 10.02.23 asked if they did proper Patties, fish in between two slices of potato, yes was the answer, nine ready but decided to wait. “You won’t getter a better Pattie than this” said the owner (Dean I suppose) “ cooked to perfection that is” was his claim. It wasn’t a great big thick one, some think you’re getting value for money if it’s big, however; his claim was spot on, everything about it was spot on. Definitely recommend Deans at Northway. No photo I’m afraid, got eaten too quickly 😋

Fish seemed OK, chips were soggy, fritter was poor and tasteless but my main issue was £4 for a chicken fillet burger that was a cheap nasty bit of fried chicken that was the same size as 2 chicken nuggets and so over cooked and dry it couldn't be eaten is a serious over charge, add in the fact that it doesn't even come in a bread bun, no sauce, no salad just a nasty bit of chicken, complete waste of money.

Chips were nice but the batter on both fish and jumbo sausage wasn’t great. Nearly burnt and dry. Sorry guys but it wasn’t great unfortunately :(
