I telephoned to check if dogs were welcome, and they were! We visited after a muddy trip to the woods. The staff were super accommodating and welcoming. The dog was provided with water and biscuits and we ordered the most delicious cakes, panini and hot chocolate. Unfortunately we did muddy up where we were sitting a bit but we were reassured this was absolutely not a problem. We will definitely be returning. Really lovely visit.

Popped in for lunch while waiting for the bus, fortunately we had an hour and a half to kill. The tea arrived within 25 minutes , the baguettes within 40 minutes. The food was fine whilst unremarkable. The person we perceived to be the proprietor was extremely pleasant.

Arrived at 9.30am for breakfast.....our first visit since they re-branded and re-opened. Lady owner very friendly and chatty(I will come back on that). First thing we are told is no coffee available and husband has gone out to buy mushrooms......9.30 and no coffee in a cafe!! We ordered the full English.....we waited and waited eventually being served 45 minutes later.During our wait the lady owner spent the whole time chatting and gossiping to other customers, she made no attempt to start breakfast until her husband returned from his shopping trip. The tables were sticky and dirty and when the breakfast did arrive it was very poor.....small portions, eggs overcooked and it looked like it had been dropped onto the plate no atrempt to present it nicely. We ate, paid and left. My wife and i agreed it was the worst breakfast we have ever had. Will not return and cannot recommend.

I'll be honest - I think 'Afternoon Tea' is an expensive marketing ploy designed to make you spend ££££ on tiny little savory and sweet 'samples'. This place is also about 1 hour drive away so I wasn't all that keen to sample the 'Autumn Afternoon Tea'. With that grumpy attitude I ordered a cup of coffee and waited to be proved right. In no time an elegant three-tier serving 'bird cage' turned up and all the items were explained to my wife and I. I sensed the waitress were very proud of the selection (for good reason). Turns out that every single item was both perfectly crafted and delicious. The portions were just enough. The coffee was great and I could have another one included in the price. Soft drink choice for my wife was also impressive and delicious. We didn't manage to eat everything - but that's ok as you can ask for some little boxes to take it home. The setting is delightful, the staff excellent, and the autumn afternoon tea was delicious and great value. I vow to be less grumpy in future. I even have a photo taken by the staff of my wife and I smiling. Turned out to be a very happy day.

Food was good. Lovely cosy friendly atmosphere. Adams beer served and real ales. We weren't hurried. Sat after meal and chatted. Be nice in summer to sit outside. Lovely countryside pub.

We ate olives and nuts as nibbles - that were beautiful! Some of the nuts for example were roasted and coated hazelnuts, so so flavoursome! We then had the pre meal dishes they give out that included some homemade crisps with an amazing garlic oil and pepper hummus - absolutely delicious. For our starters we both had the mushroom fricasse - again absolutely divine and extremely memorable, with so much flavour! For our mains, I had the aubergine risotto (I'm not a vegetarian but love a risotto) and it was also... absolutely wonderful!! My husband had the venison which was delicious too and so well made. For dessert, we shared the lavender and honey parfait - one of the most delicious desserts I've ever eaten! This meal was up there with one of our favourite from restaurants across the world, and if we're ever in the area again, we will be revisiting this exceptional restaurant. Staff were also extremely kind and attentive, and we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. Thank god we found you! :)

Food was ok , unfortunately the hot chocolate didnt have much taste so was disapointing. Service wasnt good ,some of the staff were trying to work so quickly they were spilling drinks over the floor , cleaning with paper towel and not washing hands afterwards..staff not very friendly..wouldnt go back in there..
