Desi Hype Restaurant And Cocktail Bar in Harrow

We went to Desi Hype for dinner on Friday 25th October 2024. We mostly had a nice time. The singer/DJ was brilliant and he played our requested songs. Five stars for the singer. The music was very entertaining. There was an issue with one of our dishes, but the Manager Sonu was happy to listen to my feedback, which was helpful and shows good customer service. They were a little short staffed, but they were apologetic about this and did their best. Overall, we had a nice time.

I was invited to my former company's Xmas lunch, and was anticipating an enjoyable meal after reading the many good reviews for this establishment. The restaurant provides a pleasant environment but was surprisingly lacking in custom when we visited just before Xmas. Perhaps Thursday lunchtimes are not busy. The food itself was decent, but the service was appalling. Our waiter clearly struggled to cope with our party of 14. He also appeared to have a problem understanding the orders. The food - when it arrived was actually quite decent but the serving was, at best, haphazard. Most of us got more or less what we ordered, but the waiter kept coming over to check our requirements. Everyone seemed to get their meals at different times and some of the party had finished eating by the time others were served their food. It was much the same with the drink orders. If a restaurant is unable to cope with a group booking it should just not accept them. The experience was most disappointing. Were I picking up the tab I would have insisted on a discount because the poor service detracted from what would have been a nice occasion.

Had a small event, Excellent venue, food and service. Would highly recommend Had amazing time. Thanks to all management and staff ❤️❤️❤️

First impressions on overall look of restaurant & menu list is, decent enough.The Menu "booklet" itself was worn & sticky to touch.Definitely needed to wash hands afterward touching it.The lavatory area was actually decent. The starters tasted as though had been pre-made & just re-warmed & served to us.Just warm rather than hot & an overcooked look about them!? Also found a hair in the paneer 🫤!! Heard a few good recommendations so thought we'd give it a try but left extremely disappointed.Service was mediocre ... not sure why the waiters weren't jolly/smiley 🤷🏽‍♀️. Not sure if I will return to this restaurant in a hurry,although I do believe in second chances so watch this space
