Burnt lasagne sent back remade burnt again. Beef hard and chewy. Poor service if you using a microwave please learn how to use it. Was only 6 tables eating so not busy

Great just don’t go on a Friday or Saturday night if you like a quiet drink and don’t want to see young people doing drugs

Had the mix platter from the devon and it was superb the staff were great great pub looking forward to returning this year.

Enjoyed a ribeye steak meal. Staff friendly and helpful.

Food was nice I had gammon hubby had meat pie good portion size nice and hot can’t go wrong for price will be back

Some great meals however they often run out of the steak I don't know why it is always the Steak that is not available .l have heard other people say the same.

Extremely friendly bar staff. Wonderful waitress who really made my grandson feel very special with a cracker for him as he was disappointed the table we usually sit at was set for a Christmas meal. Food perfect for price.. great value for money. Healthier than McDonald's and much nicer atmosphere. Gf menu available for me too so winners all round

Been coming in most of the Christmas period and I just want to dedicate this review to the staff. Been in this afternoon, Sat, and the staff look tired and worn down but still manage to keep going with a smile on there face. Thank you for your service. Eleven of us went to the Devon on Christmas day, and had a fabulous lunch. Booking for Xmas lunch was very easy, and all of us really enjoyed the meal. The food was really nice, the service excellent, and we will definitely go back again.

Was in for the New Year celebrations and was a great night and fantastic atmosphere. The staff was brilliant as always :-)

Went to the Devon pub today for Christmas lunch with a group of people we support with learning disabilities we hadn't even sat down before the staff were stood behind us with the very ordinary starter prawns in a lettuce leaf we had no chance to order any drinks before being rushed to sit having wheelchairs and walking aids this was always going to take a few minutes to get organised and staff literally trying to serve before they had even sat down. After Speaking to the person organising this soup kitchen We were informed that they had lots of bookings to deal with so the had a time LIMIT NOT IMPRESSED thenbthe main event the turkey dinner basically turkey sandwich meat which had a distinctly fishy flavour .rushed throughout the service dessert ok but will spend our £400 somewhere else next year

Disappointed by our lunch here today. Ordering by the app was easy but when he food arrived the waiter left without checking if we had any cutlery or condiments. Had to go hunting them down for ourselves. The fries were decent, the burger ok but dry but I have no idea what was in the special millionaires mayo. It tasted awful! Went to the loo before leaving. No lock on the cubicle so changed. The area behind the loo seat looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in days. I won’t be returning.

Pop in a few times a week for a quiet beer. Staff are really friendly and really attentive. Always very chatty and have a laugh with me. Especially Ellie and Ben

I would like to thank ,Joanne, the landlady at the Devon and all of her team for a perfect send off for my step mum. From meeting with Jo to arrange buffet to the wake itself was made very easy under the circumstances. The food was amazing, plentiful and fresh. It was brought out fresh twice so the hot food remained hot. The function room was a perfect size for around 30 mourners. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Thank you so much for making a difficult day so much better. Carole x

Always been a favourite of mine. It brings back many special memories.

I am currently working away from home and staying in a local premier inn. Had a drive out and came across the Devon pub by chance. Lovely warm atmosphere, the bar staff very friendly especially Ben who was very courteous and attentive at all times. The food is always hot and tasty without having to wait too long. Highly recommended this pub.

Good value food and drink, staff are very good too.

Came to visit for lunch and was warmly greeted by Michelle . Food came out piping hot and was very tasty cooked by Ben ( we asked who waaa cooking) . Would recommend the sizzling gammon which is served with either egg or pineapple.

As a family of four we recently visited the Devon for a birthday tea. The food was delicious and great value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

Regular visitors to the Devon, one of my favourite locals! Staff are always friendly and efficient. Came in today for a hangover brunch, and Ben was his usual friendly self. Tasty food at reasonable prices.

We came to the Devon on Thursday evening with 2 of our friends from out of town. They had travelled from Liverpool to stay with us for the weekend so for their first night her we recommended spending it in the Devon for food. We came approximately 19:00, we found a seat and we ordered more or less straight away. The pub was very busy but despite this our food came exceptionally quick and was very delicious. We all had the buy one get one free burger deal, we would highly recommend and will be having this again. Bargain for what you get. When ordering drinks we asked if the football would be showing for the men while us women had a catch up, the young lad behind the bar explained that it will be on but a quiz would be in play at the same time so we decided to do both. The weekend is coming to and end but my freids said that they had a really good time and really enjoyed visiting the devon and we have arranged to come again just before Christmas. Went for Sunday lunch today had a roast dinner really enjoyed it plenty of meat and vegetables definitely go back again

Me and my wife ate and had a few drinks on Sat 21st Sept at around 1pm. The restaurant was not busy at that time so we were able to get a good spot near the tv. It soon got busy, both Ben and Anna served us on the bar and even though there was a queue we wasn’t waiting too long to be served. The young waitress Maddie served our food, with a smile and even came back to check all was fine. Shout out to who ever was cooking , food was great! Thanks again, we will return MOT

A massive thank you to the devon and their team. We came in as part of a big party that we had booked in the conservatory at short notice the week before. Very accommodating. The buffet food was great, loads to go around, compliments to the chef, Rebecca I believe. We all had a wonderful time and the atmosphere was great despite the situation. We will highly recommend you to friends and family. Once again thank you for exceeding our expectations

Thoroughly enjoyed my food here. Luke was very friendly and attentive. Only constructive feedback is that the menus were sticky and could do with a wipe. I'll be back though!

Went out their way to get us all settled watching the Grand Prix, with an amazing steak wrap and a burger. Amazing food, great atmosphere. The puddings were fantastic too!!

I visited The Devon on Friday 16th August during lunch, I was a little anxious as it was completely packed by the time we arrived at 12:30. The staff were welcoming to us as we walked in despite running around like headless chickens! We found a table free and looked at the menu to order. We were told there would be a wait a food due to how busy it was but we expected this and sat down to wait, the food came out a lot faster than the estimated time and was perfect! We ordered fish and burgers, the fish was beautifully battered, crispy and flakey. Despite there only being two people working out front the service was amazing and the food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back, maybe on a quieter day!

Visited this vibrant pub today, food was great, service was prompt and staff very welcoming, especially Laura who was very happy to help and serve us. Will definitely return.

Lovely day for sitting outside the Devon

Good food, was told there was half hour wait, which we were okay with, but it came less than half hour, so that was good. Bit noisy but it is Saturday night.

I came in with my two young daughters and felt very welcomed, service was great. A massive shout out to one of the staff Laura!! Very friendly and chatty and was even chatty to the children!! Will be back!!

I came on a thursday night and it was quite busy due to the lovely weather, I ordered food the southern fried chicken burger and a kids meal and was delivered by a lovely waiter called maddie she accommodated for me and my child and was even entertaining my little girl and making her laugh! It was lovely experience so thank you! i would reccomend to go again due to lovely staff

It’s been a while since the family got together, we made the mutual decision to meet at The Devon, GREAT CHOICE! We haven’t been here in a good few weeks, we came over the weekend when the sun was out. Even though the pub seemed overly and extremely busy the staff still delivered excellent service, food was great and the atmosphere for the sport was spot on. We will see you again this weekend

Brilliant Flaming Grill pub with amazing food and service !!!⭐

The food is always very nice and a good reasonable price, the restaurant has lovely seating, and is clean, the staff are always great here, very helpful, cheerful and polite, The only let down on this visit at Saturday tea time was the table of older men and one child, the men were very loud and were constantly swearing all evening, which was very unpleasant, and inconsiderate since there were children present.

We decided to try as we hadn’t been for food here for a while as the last time (previous landlord) was a bad experience but we were very impressed with the staff and the food and the menu had lots to offer.

So great the locals eat tins of sardines on the toilet

Two weeks ago we were there, arriving 5:40pm. There was a sign that the table was booked for 6:30pm. We were aware about that, but we ordered our dinner, it took more than 40 minutes to arrive. One of the rudest waitress that I have ever seen in my life came saying we needed to leave now, ignoring the fact that we said that the food took a long time to arrive. Never coming back and not recommending for any of my friends.

The place is busy for lunch. Our food took 30 minutes to arrive, but it was worth it.

Came for lunch around 11.45am got a house wine and pinte off lemonade. Wine was vile and lemonade was flat not a fiz bubble in sight . Ordered the mac&cheese with chicken on top . With side salad . The chicken was brown and very salty very unpleasant taste , the mac & cheese was bland have seen better microwave meals . The salad was definitely not fresh and look like it had been on the side a few days just had the brown edges cut off . The lasagna was cold and little to none taste very dry and yet again another microwave meal would have been better. We got a side of chips with beef dripping gravy , no chips just fries which wasn't a problem beef dripping gravy has never even seen any beef taste was a strong vinegar taste not a nice taste to leave behind . We did order dessert but didn't stay for that . Sorry but this definitely isn't worth the money.

over 1 hour wait for food. needed to clear and clean own table. Food shockingly bad. crispy chicken arrived limp and cold. chips covered in congealed chip shop sauce. 10 mins after eating half (as was starving from long wait ) went straight to the toilets and was violently sick. I'd advise people not to eat here

Food is very nice and good portion size too, place is nice and clean, we chose off the 2 meals for 13.49 and they were well nice

Not a great experience travelled from Lancashire and took my 91 year old mum here for lunch. There used to be a Pensioners menu here for lighter eaters but that was no more. We ordered meals from the Bar and after consuming our drinks and waiting nearly an hour I went to the bar and asked where our food was Barmaid implied it was my own fault for not asking how long the wait was. Food arrived after another 10 mins so I complained again and go no apology just told that's what happens when it's busy. Won't be going back

Drove over from Lancashire to visit my 91 year old mother and Brought her here for lunch. We ordered food and drinks from the bar and as we had consumed our drinks and waited nearly an hour I went to ask where our meals were. The Barmaid said they were busy and would be a few more minutes yet and it wasn't her fault . She served me an hour earlier and never mentioned it would be an hour or we would have gone else where. After another 10 to 15 mins the food arrived and I complained to the server who was not the slightest bit interested ,we ate the food but had no drinks at this stage and were not offered any either. Take it or leave it attitude will not be back. The Pensioners menu was no longer being offered that mum liked was also not offered any more. We will go else where next visit

Visited today for drinks with friends. Served by Kasia, sarah and Liam who were friendly, efficient and happy to help. Had some food served by Shaun and Matthew, cooked to perfection. All round excellent experience would highly recommend.

We visited The Devon last night for dinner. The prices are quite cheap and that is unfortunately reflected in the quality of the food. We ordered nachos as a starter (it is on the menu as a starter) to share. These arrived in a tin like dish with our main courses and not as a starter. There were no side plates or plates of any description for us to share them. When the waitress realised they were supposed to be a starter she was apologetic and said she could take our mains away (presumably to be kept warm under an hot plate). The nachos were OK, I have had better and had worse. My partner had the steak and ale pie which he said was OK but his chips were quite hard. I had the steak flatbread and although I had requested my steak medium it was definitely very pink and rare which I didn’t like at all. The juices were running all over my plate and hands and the flatbread was extremely soggy and not nice at all. It was rather messy to eat. There were no napkins on our table and my partner had to scout around trying to find some. We noticed tables nearby which were covered in dirty plates and glasses before eventually they were cleared away after quite some time. I don’t think we will bother eating here again although I can see why people do because it is quite reasonably priced but the food we had on the whole was not good. Unlike a previous comment, we were not asked once if everything was Ok with our food. I wish someone had asked because I would have told them that it wasn't very good.

Met for a much needed catch up with old school friends . Plenty of areas to sit . Enjoyed the food . Quick service & reasonably priced.

We came to have an earlier dinner on Sunday at around 4pm and couldn’t be more disappointed, the server kept on coming over to ask us if everything was ok after we had told her the first time she brought the food over that it was ok and I felt like she didn’t get the message. She kept interrupting our meal and made it so we couldn’t enjoy our food as much as we wanted. The food was great I had the Gammon and my husband had the beef rib Sunday roast. All we wanted was a quiet sit down meal and couldn’t even get that. She must have come over like 3 or 4 times. Will avoid next time

We had a really good experience at the Devon. We will be going back.
