Really disappointed with our food order this time. The gravy had leaked considerably and had minimal taste. Not sure if they even had a chef in that day. I called with feedback and they didn't do anything or offer back to make up for it. Will not be recordering again.

Having ordered from here before we have always enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, on this occasion the service wasn't great. We ordered online with a pick-up time confirmed for 30mins - 5.45 so 6.15pm pick-up. I called to confirm at 6.13pm as we were getting our kids a Macdonalds and didn't want that going cold. When I asked if it was ready I was told it would be ready in 20mins so 50mins for the time of order and not 30mins as they confirmed. They then argued with me that they say 30 mins to given them time to prep the meal and despite me telling them it had already been 30mins (5.45pm - 6.15pm) and another 20mins would be 50mins. I was simply told I had to give them another 20mins and quite rudely at that. If you can't stick to your ordering times then you need to fix that! Food was average, at best, on this occasion. Will pop into town next time!

Delivery was on time , but the food was not hot (warm) as it is as usual. We had to reheat all of it . The taste of the food was as normal great .

Ordered from the Dil Se Web site and food was ready for collection at the specified time. Food was excellent as always.

A good Indian with great food, the service has vastly improved from 7 years ago. A great reliable Indian.

Service and food has historically been good, however on this occassion nobody knew my food was ready, Amidst all the confusion they eventually discovered it was already in the warm box. I took it home to discover it was luke warm even though the woman said it would still be hot. I phoned up and was offered another meal but i cannot see why I had to do another 40 minute round trip with Dil Se refusing to deliver a fresh meal. This food is never the same reheated due to the fresh spices, however I did try the microwave and the the main meal was dry and disappointly tastless. At this point I had lost interest and put the meal and the thought of ordering again in the bin. Who wants to spend hours travelling on a Saturday night. I have put a dispute in with my card holder. Unless I see a review that this place has improved I am going elsewhere. This place used to be good but has now slipped into mediocrity to bad for both service and food. I no longer use this place as there are far better places. No refund, no food, no happy.

Never disappoints after years and years of great food.

After a few visits, never had a bad meal yet and always ready on time. Cooked fresh with amazing flavours! The meal deal for 2 is superb value for money and wont leave you hungry!

Been here for take out many times. Never had a bad meal. Food and value for money, especially the set meals for 2 and 4 people are amazing! Staff and drivers always friendly.

Lovely take away, nice service. korma was really good also tried the chicken Boona, im definitely going to be a regular here food was as good as any restaurant in the city.

I had a missed call off this company. I phoned them back to see what it was about. The staff were very rude, shouting down the phone at me. I tried to warm them that their number may be being used for fraud. He shouted down the phone at me. Incredibly rude. Just for that it's worth giving this place a miss id say!! Horrible people.

Just ordered a meal. Although I'm white British I have been experimenting with Indian cooking for like 40 years and I'm pretty good at it now. Only problem is it now makes me a food critic. I prefer my own cooking but with work and travel I sometimes order. So tonight I order the madras. I love hot food but the madras here is bordering vindaloo hotness. The Bombay aloo was atrocious. The potatoes are hard and uncooked and the spicing simply rubbish. They charge almost £5.00 so that's a lot of money down the drain.I have to give a 10/10 for the popodums though as usually they are rubbish, like warmed up in the microwave from Tesco's. Now I receive a decent portion of rice. Used to be only half a container so there are some positives to be had.

First time ordering and my god, what a treat! We ordered Basanti and Kursoon as part of the set meal for 2 and the entire spread was a feast. The Kursoon is so satisfyingly hot & spicy - I could be wrong but I think it may have naga chillies because I could taste it. If you love spicy food, definitely order it! Basanti is also a must-try, I recommend it to everyone. It is not spicy at all, just pure deliciousness. This won't be our last time. Thank you for the good food, Dil Se!

Not to my liking. Watery sauce. So disappointed I spent good money on what I thought was good food.

Haven't been back to this place after about 4 years when I was told to get out with my dog!!That was after me asking if it was ok to take my dog in , I guess one of the staff thought it was ok but obviously the second one didn't and was so rude. Two people waiting agreed with me. Pity because it's close to my home but I swore never to go back and I won't.

Food cooked lovely and tasted well . However it was catered more for European taste buds . I would however order again .

I think the food is average. I find the rice is below par and the portion sizes small. I do feel the prices are high and that a delivery charge of £3.00 is unnecessary when you only live a minute away and have already spent £25.00 on the food just for one person. The mains are good but a touch too salty sometimes.

Extremely rude!! Ordered a delivery! They could not find us, twice!!!! Twice rang shop and was greeted with shouting at me and rudeness!! Extremely shocked by attitude!!and Never again!!

absolutely ridiculous and the worst customer service i’ve ever received. ordered food at 6, and called at 8:50 to ask where it was only to be told that they’d tried to deliver it twice and i must have just not heard and if i wanted my food i’d have to pay another additional delivery charge. (blatantly untrue, i have a very loud door bell and i’ve been waiting reading in silence.) he then claimed that it was also my fault as id given the wrong phone number which again was untrue and i have my call log showing no missed calls from them. he said that i’d have to pay extra to get my food and told me to collect and when i advised i couldn’t as it’s raining and i’m disabled and without a car at the moment he was rude about that and demanded the extra fee, i said again i wouldn’t do that and started to explain that my address can be difficult to find and there’s a chance the driver got the wrong address and he hung up on me mid sentence. he then called me again five minutes later (finally registering a call from that number in my phone, further proving no missed calls. also this number perfected my matched the one provided originally so how they ‘had the wrong number’ i do not understand ) demanding to know what he should do with the food. I said that he should deliver it (three hours later at this point, bearing in mind the place is a five minute drive from my house) to which he said that either i pay more money or i don’t get the food. in the end i requested a refund and he rudely yelled that he ‘doesn’t even have my money’ despite the fact the charge had already come out of my bank. i have requested a refund though the delivery service and if that is denied i will request one through my bank. all in all this was terrible service and at no point should an employee yell at a customer for simply wanting something they’d already payed for. i usually have lots of patience for food service workers as someone who works in that myself but this man was so genuinely rude and disrespectful for no reason. do NOT order from here. other places have better food and service and don’t take three hours to fail to ring a doorbell.

Been using dil-se for some time now and we have never had a bad meal. Staff are great and very polite. You get ample food aswell can't fault it.

This used to be our go to Indian - not anymore. Main dishes are very scarce on meat, even the vegetable dishes are full of what I can only presume is cheap frozen veg or the tins of mixed veg you get. Portions have become ridiculous despite prices going up. Also the ‘king prawns’ are very clearly not king prawns, no idea what they are but u could bounce them off the floor. Really disappointing food from what was once a great takeaway.

Ordered Lamb makhani curry and 50% of the curry consist of tofu/cheese. Took back the lamb curry as i didnt ordered/mention any cheese on it. How can you scam your customer by putting 50% meat and 50% cheese on it?

THEY USE A MEAT SUBSTITUTE TO BULK UP AND REPLACE MEAT “TOFU”. Horendus and laughable, so we spend over £60 for a takeaway, bring home and the main lamb that cost £10 had 2 bits of small lamb the rest was tofu. When we call to complain the rude person on the other end of the phone does not know what Tofu is. So we have somone in a restaurant saying they don’t know what Tofu is and acting dumb like they never put their. Not the fist time either, my neighbour had a similar experience with their meat dish bulked up with a meat substitute. Horrible food and worse customer service, show some respect to those ordering from your joke of a take away.

First time trying this Indian and one of the best I’ve had. Ordered a chicken tikka masala which was delicious and not heavy, chicken nice and tender. Very reasonably priced, said it would be 40 mins but it was delivered within 20. Highly recommend!

We picked up an order at 5.30 and drove home the drive was a 2 minute drive , the food was very cold and not the best

Prices have gone through roof. Meal deal for two now £35 .not worth it .

Used to go here but won't be going back. 5 pound for a nan bread. As if consumers aren't squeezed enough. 5 pound. You'd expect a good one too, but it was soggy and bland. Owner had also "put the prices up" and not bothered to redistribute the menu showing the prices which I think is an underhand way of trying to get more money out of squeezed consumers. Food was rubbish and won't ever be back.

Disappointing! We got a friendly lady on phone and faster delivery then expected and food was hot on arrival. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the service. There was 2 hairs, 1 in each main meal!! The rice was overly plain, the sauce was more oily than saucy! Peshwari naan was worse naan we've had.

Ordered some food last night. Never ever again!!. Naan breads were chewy, hard and very thick. Vegetable curry- full of food colouring and no taste. Indian food is known for it's use of herbs and spices (I do not meaning chillies as spices), which leave a natural colour and flavour to the food, use of artificial food colouring - shows that they are camouflaging the cooking. I had also ordered 'Mixed Vegetable Bhuna' description says - "Medium dish with fresh tomatoes". There were no tomatoes, instead use of large amount of red food colouring. For the sake of mixed vegetables - it was loaded with potatoes (95%) and a tiny portion (5%) of green beans. HIGHLY Disappointed. Will never go again. they do not even deserve one star!!

Chaos this place can’t cope with orders it’s ok being on Just Eat but don’t sign up if you can’t cope with the orders. Tell you turn up to collect at a certain time but making you wait 30/40 mins later is ridiculous. If you phone up don’t expect to collect your food in 2 hours more like 2hrs 30 if you want it delivered forget it!!!

Wow. I've never known a place to go so downhill, so quickly. Our meal tonight was awful. Genuinely would have been better getting an ASDA curry in a box. Been using Dil Se for 5 years now and we've never had a bad word to say until now. I don't know where to start. The Pilau rice was different. The quality of the rice has gone downhill and the flavour wasn't as fragrant. It tasted like it was pre-made and from a packet. Nasty. The Garlic Chilli Chicken was shocking. It was dry. Very dry. The chicken was an excrement brown colour, not the usual fiery red from the spices. Chilli? What chilli? It's normally a medium to high heat. It was mild and bland. What little sauce there was, was clumpy and a very unusual looking brown (normally fiery red too) and the chopped vegetables/ onions were crunchy and undercooked. The Rajasthani Bhuna was bland as well and the sauce looked recycled. The chicken was unbelievably dry and some of it tasted "off". The garlic naan was stone cold and burnt on one side, with about 1/2 the usual seasoning. The Bombay potatoes were plain and chunkier than usual. I'm so disappointed that I just had to write this review. I don't know if they're struggling financially and cutting corners with suppliers, they have a new owner, have accidentally employed the worst Indian chefs in existence or they're just recycling food cooked last week, but as I'm writing this review I can feel my stomach starting to turn over. Something has gone drastically wrong here. Poor show Dil Se. If you'd have messed up one dish, I could have forgiven it. But not one thing on my plate was good enough to give away for free, let alone charge for. You've just lost a family of loyal customers! What a waste.

Great food, varied menu and friendly service. When friends come up its always a safe bet to get food from here as always enjoyed.

Phoned in an order, collected it and returned home only to find half of it missing, phoned and complained and returned back again to pick it up, after waiting 5 mins until the woman came off her phone I was handed my order, I told her it was unacceptable, she then said something about her clutch in her car, I told her that what did that have to do with my order? maybe if she stayed off of her phone and did the job she was paid to do then they would get returning customers, I did get a half a grunt of an apology which did not cut it, I used this on a regular basis but sadly I will not be back, please if you do decide to use this takeaway please check your order before leaving or you may sit down to half an order, time to look for a new reliable take away. Ordered a delivery from this Indian tonight. Delivery time was over an hour so asked for collection as was told it would be 30mins. Went to collect order and still had to wait another 35 mins. Looked like there was no organisation in the place and no one knew what was happening with my order. While I was waiting another guy was complaining and another complaint over the phone. After waiting over an hour I was hoping that the food wouldn’t disappoint but it did. The portion size wasn’t up to normal portions from an Indian and food was cold. Very disappointed as this is local to me but won’t return £40 wasted ...

Despite great expectations the Chicken Korma was completely watery, the chicken was really hard so inedible and naan bread was burned! Won’t be coming back unless I hear it’s improved!

Fantastic food and very quick delivery!

I'm a big curry fan and can be particular about quality. This takeaway might be my new go to. We had a large family meal with a wide range of dishes and they were all great. Dishes are more spicy than average. Hopefully we will be back again soon!

Dil Se is a firm favourite in our family. We get the set meal for 2 and there is so much food!!! I love the South Indian Garlic Chilli chicken and husband has sampled several of the hotter dishes over time! On a Fri/Sat night expect it to be busy, so pick up is quicker than delivery!

Told 25 minutes.... an hour later leave with order.. get home 5 minutes later to find brick hard and cold man bread and a Bhuna that tastes like sweet and sour. Not going back.

Excellent food and preparation. Used them since 2002 Meal for 2 or 4 great value. Lots of specials and sundries to consider. We phone early and collect food freshly cooked. Light of Bengal in Rose st. Has same menu plus restaurant specials for a great night out. 😁 👍

I really really want to like Dil Se - the fact we've used them for years is a testament to this. The food is excellent and represents very good value for money. The problem is, every single time we order from them there's a problem. It's become a running joke in our family. We would be ordering from them twice a month at least, but each time they get something wrong we steer clear for a couple of months, then we forget about the incorrect order we had last time, try again and hey ho, it's wrong all over again. This time it was no naan bread and one dish we asked to have extra chillies was mixed up (the kids really couldn't take the jalfrezi we ordered for them because of this). The time before this the order was over 90 mins late - we ordered just before 7 and it came after half past nine! (they said they'd replaced the dishes with fresh ones but they were all stone cold when we got them) and the time before that they missed out two dishes. Some times it's a small thing such as they miss out the poppadums, at other times they miss out dishes which is frankly not on! So now we're in a quandary - the food really is good, but honestly, why can't they take down an order and produce it properly? We're going to give them a break for six months. Hopefully by then they will have sorted themselves out... or maybe they just don't care enough?
