Double Dragon in Islington

Taste sensation! Just my sort of food! We visited for the Saturday brunch which was a rollercoaster of exciting small dishes. Can’t wait to come back and try every dish on the menu.

First time here and I loved it. OK the service was a bit haphazard ( a pudding missed, no one to take a drinks order) but it was very friendly. And the cocktail I ordered was a waste of money (it didn't taste as if there was any alcohol in it) - but maybe that was just my choice. But the food, oh the food! We asked the waitress how many dishes we should order and she suggested six between the two of us. We had sashimi (v good), pizza (great), chips (great), aubergine (unbelievable), padron peppers (good) and pork buns (unbelievable). It was so good my friend suggested we order some more so we had the black cod (unbelievable), hispi cabbage (great) and Jerusalem artichoke (unbelievable). OK it was too much food but we did enjoy it! It's not cheap but nor is it expensive for the quality.

My wife and I were occasional visitors to Scott Hallsworht's Freak Scene. The food was exquisite. I spent some time working in Singapore and loved the asian fusion of the food courts - this is a similar experience. There is far more room in the new premises and a real buzz. At just over £50 each we had more than enough to eat and drink and a lovely post-lockdown experience to remember. Well done

Scott Hallsworth has bought every bit of his Nobu magic to his exciting new venture in this cavernous Japanese themed neon lit space housed in an old bank in a great location. The food is tantalizing using traditional Japanese flavours to create innovative new dishes, this is a chef that knows exactly how to get the best out of every ingredient he uses turning them into small sharing plates starting with a new twist on the Edamane scorched with sake, the BBQ sticky pork belly buns with roasted soy & house pickles are the best I have eaten as is a wonderful Salmon Sashimi pizza dressed with truffle ponzu & wasabi tobiko with other dishes including a fantastic hipsi cabbage made using the old wood fired oven and do not miss the experience of ordering the sushi that comes with a cucumber shot I will not ruin the element of surprise suffice to say that one of your fellow diners will much appreciate it. the cocktail and wine pairings match the food so well which makes the Double Dragon the perfect place to enjoy a night out for two or a get together for a large group of friends, the vibe here is as bright as the neon lighting and the food definitely is the main topic of conversation for very good reasons.
