Draft House Old Street in Islington

Had an ad hoc lunch at The Draft House in Old Street; the service was quick and efficient. The food was good, with a few minor gripes like a very dry bun and over-cooked fries. Tasty burger pattie though! Enjoyed the lunch time experience in the summer sun

I booked the downstairs space for 35 people for a company social and pre-paid for several beers and bottles of wine but when our group arrived on time our booking had been forgotten about and the staff were 'too understaffed' to help. We waited almost 30 minutes before the manager arrived and had to move customers to give our group a small section. The kitchen was also closed at 6pm. It was a hot day so I understand it was busy but this was to be expected! The only highlight was the two-for-one cocktails during happy hour. I had heard good things about this place but having experienced it I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't return.

Visited this place yesterday for the bottomless brunch. Nice venue easy to find with it only being a short walk from old street station. When we arrived we got seated and straight away sorted with a bottle of bubbles. Service was good throughout the 2 hours of unlimited drink and the food was good as well. I went for the sausage and mash which I enjoyed but the burgers did look really good! Will definitely be back again to try the burgers! Overall very pleasant and good value for money.

Alessandra Andrea Alesia at the Draft House: Dh chancery lane in London: were the best hosts ever. Our meal was absolutely delicious, despite our very particular Orders: everything was done perfectly. The service is really what made the experience these ladies really were the highlight of our trip to London. We had such a good time, and were amazed and appreciative of the level of friendliness, and customer service that we received. This is a must in London and if you can request to these ladies to be your server they are amazing!! You will not be disappointed!

We stopped for drinks during happy hour. Well priced drinks during happy hour. The Poke burger was good and sweet potato fries were excellent.

We recently ate here on the bottomless brunch deal. There were 11 of us in total. We ordered our food and drinks, the drinks didn't take too long to arrive. Whilst we were being served our food, 3/4 of the group got their food and then the waitress said to the people who had ordered a certain meal that they couldn't actually cook it. I appreciate this isn't the waitresses fault, the chef should have informed her of the problems. However this meant that they then had to choose new meals and wait for them to be booked, while we were all eating as ours had all arrived. That's really poor. We also ordered some sides that never arrived. The restaurant gave us a discount on the final bill to compensate for the problems which was nice of them to do. The burgers were delicious, I had the veggie patty - This chain is good for vegetarian / vegan options. We did have to keep asking to more drinks rather than more bottles being brought over. The staff were very helpful, however after going to this venue and their sister bar in London Bridge on a different day (but for the same bottomless brunch deal), I probably wouldn't go back. We seemed to have the same problems in each one of food not being delivered / not being correct.

Both the drinks and food menu is not short of choices. Different styles of beer and a wide range of spirits and wine for non-beer drinkers are available. The food menu ranges from classic burgers to hearty British classics with a touch of Asian influence in the middle. A decent selection of veggie and vegan meals are available to accommodate various dietary requirements. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, understandably slightly slower at busy times, but it's always compensated by a smile. Great place to grab a bite and drink before a night out in Shoreditch.

Team birthdays night out - booked for 12 people, on arrival seated at a table for 8 as thats the biggest table they have, not sure why we were not informed of this when we called? The server whom I assume is responsible for our area tried hard to fix it and allowed us to put the table at an angle to fit us all round it - not comfortable but not the end of the world. One drink took more than 10 minutes to arrive after the others - it was the boss' drink (and he was paying) so we couldn't start without him could we?! Food arrived - three burgers (two satan burgers and chicken burger) took another ten minutes to arrive resulting in everyone eating at different times. Burgers terribly salty - almost inedible to be honest, its only that it was late and we were hungry that we ate it. We told the waiter who collected our plates to be told they add salt to the burgers to make them cook quicker, we mentioned perhaps not so much salt next time to which the response was - if you are not used to eating salt it will taste salty and he stalked off. Bar staff were pleasant and the server looking after our area primarily tried to overcome the various mistakes (drink arriving late, food arriving late, incorrect drinks order) but a couple of others were dreadful - two guys looked very similar to one another so not sure if they are related/owners but frankly bordering on aggressive with their defensiveness/dismissiveness. It feels like the attitiude is that they are busy and clearly do not need the business so can treat customers with contempt. We paid up and left to head to somewhere much more welcoming - there are plenty of places in London. Would not go again, would not recommend.

We visited this pub for a quick bite to eat on the way to a gig. The pub runs a promotion of half price burgers on a Monday, and there is a great menu to choose from. Burgers and fries were good and such greart value. We were also caught in the middle of the pub quiz, but we obviously we couldn't join in, however, the compere was very funny, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return at some point.

I reserved a table for 8 for a 2pm start this weekend. Booked the bottomless brunch for my birthday after speaking to a very friendly person on the phone who was very helpful. £5 per person deposit paid with the remainder due on the day. Arrived early, venue had only 1 other table of 4 people. Was seated for 2pm but had to wait 20 mins before being served a drink. After being served drinks we were given a menu by waiter who said we could only select food from the list(not a problem As we had already chosen from the website). We all made our selections and another waiter came over to only tell us that we could not select from this menu and gave us the one on the table. Some had to change their selection to this menu only for the original waitress to come back to say no we could not choose from this menu. Finally bottomed our what we could and could not order and selections made. We were now 1 hour into our 2 hours having only had 2 drinks each. When the food arrived 2 people were given the wrong burgers. These were sent back to the kitchen and we started eating, the remaining 2 finally got their meals 20 mins later with not so much of an apology. Towards the end of our reservation the female members of our party were drinking prosecco, a group member asked for 4 more glasses before our allotted time to cheers my birthday and this was refused by the on duty manager. I requested to see the manage (who gave his name as nikola). Having explained about the lack of service on arrival, confusion with what we could and could not order, the food delays, refusal of prosecco at the end I was met by a reply of your time is up. After mentioning about the food and service issues I was quoted the following by him “what do you want, me to fire someone” Not really the best way to handle a customer service matter nikola. I hate to say draft house based on my (lack of) birthday experience from you I will not be back. Me and the other 7 people will not be recommending this to any of our friends or family. Oh I did manage to get my glass of prosecco in the end, the only reason I can give 2*

Viajamos a Londres en marzo de este año y uno de los días fuimos con unos amigos que viven allí a tomarnos algo en este pub. Bueno pues no pudimos ni entrar!!! El personal de seguridad nos paró en la puerta y empezó a indicarnos con gestos y con muy malos modos que nos pusiéramos los cuatro en linea recta y a la izquierda. Pensé que estaban siendo excesivos con el trato que nos estaban dando, puesto que no habíamos bebido ni íbamos montando juerga, así que le dije en español que se tranquilizara, ante lo cual el tío nos echó de allí a patadas!. No puedo deciros si la comida es buena y si los precios son asequibles, solo que mi experiencia fue nefasta.

El bar es ámplio, cómodo y cuenta con una buena ubicación (justo al lado de la parada de Old Street). Tienen cervezas artesanas de surtidor y hay mucha variedad, así que harás una buena elección seguro. Los precios están muy bien teniendo en cuenta la media del resto de pubs de la ciudad. Además tienen "la oferta del día" y en según que cerveza hay un precio inferior.

I have been coming here for ages as I work locally. As a regular I have seen the place go through a few changes, as most places do across the years, but thankfully the beer selection is as good as ever and the staff are still super friendly. If you like your Craft Beer this is an amazing little pub. The beers on tap change regularly so it's always interesting, and the bottle selection as well. They get a lot of solid local breweries' beers in, as well as further afield like ToØl, Omnipollo, Beerbliotek which are some of my favourite European Breweries. I should have reviewed this place ages ago, not big on reviewing places but trying to do more so, especially to give positive reviews rather than making an effort only after a negative experience. I come in more for the beer, but I have tried a few dishes on the menu which is American style with burgers, hot dogs, fries etc. and the food has always been delcious too.

Seems to have been a staff changeover, shockingly poor service. To top that was told they ran out of guacamole when I ordered nachos, assumed they would put a little more of the other toppings to balance it out, they didn’t, just left a gap to make it super obvious the guacamole was missing, but still charged the same price. Hire some professionals not these amateurs!

Most of the time it has a great beer selection and good solid burger menu. Staff are great and always let you know what's available so you're rarely disappointed after deciding on what to order. Have also tried the bottomless brunch. The rules could have been a little clearer on when it was first offered as it appeared to be for more than the 2 hours. They've changed the food menu so sides aren't included anymore which is a shame as it's not as great value once you add them on. Had one or two experiences where they've not had any beer on tap (if you're called the draft house and have nothing on draft, you should close!) but when it's good it's good!

Went there for a working lunch and ordered fish and chips - what could go wrong.
