Drovers in Mendip

Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait to collect but definitely worth the wait.

Arrived at the agreed check in time of 2pm and the hotel was locked up and in darkness. We called the number on the door and the person said he would get the member of staff to come down and let us in. About two minutes later the member of staff came down and let us in, no apology or anything. The room wasn't made up and we had to leave our bags and make ourselves scarce until they had finished. Very poor service.

I am not a fan of coffee chains but on New Years Day most places were closed. The staff here were all friendly and the bathroom was clean (unusual in a chain cafe!). It was a welcoming place.

Went here with a group of friends for a pre Christmas get together. Very friendly welcome on arrival. Very good service and a manger who knew how good customer service works. Food was very good fresh and tasty. Only downside is they could do with a bigger car park but it's not a big problem as we parked on the street.

Gutted. The chips weren't fresh potato cuts but from a frozen chip bag. I didn't see this but it tasted like this was the case, the whole family thought so. I don't think the fryer was hot enough as the batter was soggy. The curry sauce was probably posher than the usual chip shop type but it wasn't for me (I prefer Ambrose custard over fresh as well). Really disappointed as this place used to be so good. The veggie burger was probably trying to be a highlight because it was fresh and big but it's not like a steak, if it's really big, it's like eating a big blob. I won't go again unless I hear that there's been a change. I was eating out but I reckon it'd be a lovely atmosphere to eat in at and the staff were good.
