A wonderful little walk to clear the cobwebs

I love the place I was born añd lived in for 77 years even with all the changes

Beautiful walk along this lovely beach. Lots of stones and pebbles to be found.

Parked in the Souter Lower Carpark, lots of spaces and a good starting point for walking towards South Shields Beach. National Trust Carpark, £1 per hour or £4 for all day. There is a cafe by the lighthouse.

What a lovely beach this is at North Bay in Seaham. Absolutely stunning, can't fault it. Nice big car park, £3 all day, North Shore cafe near car park for breakfast/ lunch and refreshments, prices average and food very nice. Beach is lovely and clean, dogs allowed. Spent the day there today, such a beautiful coast line in our area.

Great for a walk, even saw a group of dolphins in the bay. Very interesting rocks and geology

Beautiful Durham, spent hours just walking taking in the beauty around me

I took my mum, who is 92, to Seaham for the day. The car park charges were very reasonable and we had a go at crab fishing. She uses a mobility scooter and has no issue with accessing the harbour and all the shops.

Great place to take the family for a walk or picnicking and plenty of beach for the kids

Seaham beach perfect for families

Nice beach, coastal path , could be bad in bad weather. Dogs loved it, shallow water, people were watching sundown with camp fires. Large paid parking at top of clif

Although essentially an old garbage dump, from seaglass to pottery to fossils and all sorts of artifacts it is amazing what you can find, all while enjoying a piece of nature which has more than just recovered to old beauty.

This beach is fab for glass hunting. You can easily lose several hours here. Late afternoon is a busy time so If you want peace and quiet then avoid this time of the day.

Great clean coastline with many hidden bays. Some are a bit hard to get down to but worth it when you're there. Just check the tide times

We enjoyed a lovely walk along the Durham Heritage coast, it's well worth a visit, the loved it.

Durham County Council had introduced parking fees a few weeks before we visited ( for my wife's birthday treat!). They were causing some confusion due to the information on the signs. £1 for up to an hour, £3 for 2 hours or more, up to 6pm...if my memory serves. Disabled drivers have to pay the same rate. There are a few Council car parks, but tickets are not transferable. We used 2 car parks that afternoon, it cost us £6. On the bright side it's cheaper than a lot of hospital car parks! Apparently, local businesses are petitioning the Council as they have already started to experience a fall in trade. As to the beach? I couldn't access it (disabled), but my wife did go down the steps to get to the water. Sand is sand and sea is sea...am I right?

Beautiful little spot, scenery is magnificent and Blackhall Colliery is a hidden gem for house purchases near the coast.

Stumbles upon a beautiful little bit of pebble beach whilst having our dinnertime walk. Loved it Alfie always loves the beach. Great for a long dog walk.....😊🐶🐾

We went to Seaham pebble beach kids loved it only thing that would have made it better is warmer weather

Good place with good views and rocks too. Got little crowdy on 1st April. We parked the car down wards and had to walk up to go do to the beach, but very short walk

Lush walks in any season from the beaches down to Hawthorn Dene and beyond to take in the full coastal walk. Weather permitting can spend hours here.

It's a really lovely beach with has a fantastic view of the sea. Great place for a quiet stroll along the beach as well.

I am reluctant to praise this area as it's a natural gem and I dont want to risk increasing footfall!! I live 2 minutes from this glorious spot and walk my dog here every day, it's so peaceful and beautiful, combination of coast and ancient dene with a nesting area of little terns. It's my happy place

Beautiful this morning out with our Don spriner dog he loves the water very safe & you can park right at beach harbour no wind warm sun .Plenty of little cafe's.Cappcino water for dog.

This is always a calm and peaceful walk, has beautiful scenes and is always work a walk if you have some spare time.

Nice beach. Lots of beachcombers searching for sea glass. Good for dogs - which is what I like. Most people are dog friendly, even the students playing cricket whose ball my dog pinched.

This is a beautiful coastline with lots of lovely walks along the beaches. Some are dog friendly all year round, others have Summer restrictions. We'll worth more than one visit.

When we went it was cold, bleak and cloudy but wonderful anyway! The full Get Carter experience. Fill your lungs with fresh sea air and walk for miles.

Lovely deserted beach very picturesque. Best you don't go as I like my social distance and wouldn't want to arrive to find it packed with day trippers

Who doesn't love a beach. Especially one where you can collect shells, glass from an old glass factory and there are caves too!

Stayed at Crimdon House Farm. Such a lovely location and friendly owners. Helped us out with a last minute meet..

Truly beautiful. Lots of hidden gems and such a diversity of flora fauna and wildlife. Also delightfully quiet.

Stunning coastline with so much to explore. Our family thoroughly enjoy weekends walking or cycling along it.

Beautiful area, stunning beaches, lacks public toilets

Always peaceful and friendly, not to crowded. Only this time there was a lot of sea fog which was a shame but it added a new experience.

Seaham beach is forever changing due to the rapid coastal erosion and the active slumps on to the beach. Caves and stacks are coming and going all the time. Look down and you'll soon see the famous sea glass amongst the sand. Great little walk, dog friendly too

It's a nice place but there is litter everywhere. I think it could use some more public bins, theres plastic and tires all over the place. There's no facilities for the toilet or anywhere to buy a drink. Some of the paths are falling down or broken. Not a bad place to walk a dog but I wouldn't take my kids there.

Seaham parked at large car park at North end. Unfortunately toilets were closed due to work. Quite a lot of steep steps down to beach...even steeper coming back up but could rest part way. Great beach with plenty of space. Enjoyed walking and looking for sea glass and chatting with other like minded people. Would recommend this place.

One of the North Easts best kept secrets. You can walk all the way from Sunderland to Hartlepool.
