Elliot's Bistro in Chorley

Great meal for our family get-together. Service was excellent and the food choices were very good, particularly considering that this was over the Christmas holiday period. A great local business!

We (Tracey and I) both think that average food can be improved by great service and vice versa BUT good food does not make up for bad service (or vice versa) and that is how we felt about NYE at Elliots. On arrival it was torrential rain outside so we came in with an umbrella in hand and dripping despite having only crossed the car-park. My wife announced that we had a table booked and gave our name only to be asked if we had a reservation. We were then given a choice of two tables both in the middle of the room with a creche on one side and a playroom on the other - our fault for booking a table so early. The waitress didn’t ask to take our coats or tell us where we could hang them. Having found the designated hooks we sat down at the chosen table however weren’t offered a drink. A few minutes later we asked the passing waitress for a wine menu and shortly after our drink choice was taken. Once the drinks arrived we ordered our food but we were left with the menus in front of us…… I had calamari which unfortunately was on the verge of being over-done and Mrs A had the mushrooms in gorgonzola which was absolutely divine. Our mains came - pork loin for me and I couldn’t fault it, slightly pink with a cracking cider jus and veg on the right side of done and chicken souvlaki for Mrs A with chunky chips, very tasty but the chicken was slightly dry on the end pieces. During the starters or the mains no one came to ask if the food was to our liking, which considering the restaurant wasn’t busy and there were plenty of waiting staff working there was no excuse for the poor service we received. The table was cleared and it was only then that we were asked if the food had been ok. We declined sweets and after finishing our wine I went to the bar to pay, as the waiting staff were more interested in the conversation they were having with the bar man and although the waitress saw me get up she asked me what table I was sat on. I collected our coats and we left walking past the 5 waiting staff who were back at the bar chatting to the bar man. None of them acknowledged our leaving so we left feeling very underwhelmed. To sum up our overall experience it would be disappointingly poor service and only slightly above average food.

Went with my wife and daughter for the first time on Sunday. We had scollops and gnocchi followed by pork loin and asparagus risotto. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Would give it 5+ stars

Beautiful cosy pub, with a great varied menu . I had the halloumi salad to start and lamb from their specials menu. My wife had the chicken with a peppercorn sauce. Everything was delicious and well laid out. You can clearly see they take pride in each plate. Very friendly and helpful team, and a fast service. Definitely recommend Elliot’s Bistro!

I’ve lost count how many times we’ve been, it’s our favourite restaurant. Amazing food, fantastic staff and an owner who’ll do anything to cater for you at a very reasonable price. It’s a shame Google only allows 5 stars as it’s worth way more. not sure why it’s took me so long to write a review but it’s well worth a visit

Sunday roast at Elliot’s last week, taking advantage of their Christmas Fayre Menu - two courses for £26.95🎄. The roasties were so crispy and tasty and the turkey was thickly sliced and juicy🦃. I've been today for my birthday meal. The food, wine, drinks, and atmosphere were out of this world. Everything from the presentation to the service from the friendly waiting staff was amazing. It was my first visit but definitely won't be my last! X x x

We visited this afternoon and from start to finish your staff were amazing….food amazing and so fresh…..presentation was perfection…..empty plates for us and we can’t wait to come again……chicken stroganoff was so delicious and deconstructed banoffee pie was so pretty we didnt want to eat!….empty plates for us and can’t wait to return! Great food, great staff and friendly atmosphere

I have been to Elliot's a few times and have always been impressed. Last week I went again with my wife and parents. There was a very small delay to us getting our food -so small we hadn't really noticed and I wouldn't have even thought about it - yet the manager came over to us to apologise personally. I really didn't think an apology was necessary, it was a busy night and the staff were working hard, but the important point is that this guy really cares about the experience which was in no way diminished. Try Elliot's for yourself. I feel lucky to have such a lovely place within walking distance (and don't skip desert, especially the chocolate ganache). 10/5 from me.

Amazing staff, amazing food and the owner was outstanding and very receptive, the staff were so so friendly and very polite , definitely worth a visit highly recommend.

Negatives first. The food took a while to arrive (easily 40 mins after the starters) and the atmosphere was loud. The staff were decent but again took a while to approach us. However. It gets 5 stars because the food was absolutely superb when it arrived and the staff friendly and attentive when possible (it was busy). If you like food! This is the place for you. Quality.

Outstanding customer service, haven't had better at Michelin star restaurants. Lovely welcome for a last minute booking, busy night, full to capacity yet attentive staff found the time to make us very comfortable. Complimentary drinks as we had to wait a little while for a better located table (our choice to wait anyway) and tasty well cooked fresh food - on nice hot plates, full marks! Great atmosphere, a happy family-celebration orientated restaurant. Sold. Compliments to the owner/manager & all the staff who clearly understand the hospitality business very well.

Having just moved to Chorley we were looking for somewhere to go for a family Sunday lunch. The reviews were great so we decided to book, and were not disappointed. A friendly welcome was followed by a very nice lunch. The Sunday roast beef was excellent, the roast potatoes and beef were outstanding. Our daughter said the pizza was equally delicious, and our granddaughter enjoyed her fish and chips. It was also excellent value for money for this quality. We would definitely recommend and will be back to try an evening meal.

First time we have been here, went with some friends. Apparently the front of house staff were at Leeds festival. Other staff had stepped in while they were away. When we arrived it was busy, no empty tables and a nice atmosphere. The service was excellent. They were on top of drinks and orders, also a general checkup to ensure you were ok. The food was red hot and served promptly. Very tasty and good portion size. Thanks for a great evening. We will definitely be back. A great place for dining and the staff are first class

We decided to try here for a family member's birthday meal and wow what an amazing meal it was the food was absolutely delicious the service was outstanding and the place is lovely decorated! They didn't know it was a birthday meal until they spotted a birthday card on the table and the next thing we know they surprised my brother with a dessert with a sparkler in it and sang him happy birthday! Having never been here before we will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you again Elliott's

One of the nicest restaurants in Chorley, the food is always well presented and really tasty, the service is great and they have plenty of indoor space, with a covered outdoor area as well. I’ve had the duck here a few times, and every time it’s been perfectly cooked with great veg too.

This was our first time at Eliot's Bistro and we were not disappointed...until the very end. The food was fantastic. Nice sized portions, beautifully presented and just enough to feel satisfied without feeling uncomfortable afterwards. I had battered haddock tacos to start, followed by rump of lamb on creamed potatoes served with asparagus and peas with a red wine jus. My wife had scallops and chorizo for her starter and the chicken skewer and flat bread for her main Sorry no photos, but trust me it was art on a plate, without being pretentious. The atmosphere was good and lively and the whole place had a nice buzz about it despite it being a dismal, dreary, soggy British summer's day. Sadly on ordering dessert/third course it went ary. I opted for the cheese board and my wife for the hazelnut chocolate ganache with raspberry gel. My wife's dessert was perfect and she commented that the crumble it was served with gave it a nice contrast in textures. My cheese board however was served with stale crackers. Of all the things not to mess up on surely shop bought crackers are it. I wasn't expecting anything home made or artisan, but forgive me if I am wrong, fresh crispy crackers are a must. To be fair this was rectified at the point of paying. Sadly the other issue was the waiting-on staff. They were very pleasant and polite, but sadly not very alert or attentive. At no point during the meal were we asked if everything was okay. They could have easily sold us a second cocktail at the start of the night and a second bottle of what has to be said was delicious red wine from Sicily. But sadly they were not interested. All in all a positive experience and reasonably priced but some extra attention to detail would make this establishment a stand out restaurant in the area.

We came here for my mums birthday and father's day. Staff are very friendly and service was quick. The food was set at a very good standard, was quick and hot. We sat in the ivy garden which was beautiful. If you haven't been them you must give them a try it will be worth it.

We booked for a family of 4 for a Sunday which was easy to do via their website. When we arrived we were welcomed with a smile and shown straight to our table, lovely cosy atmosphere and fantastic service throughout. The kids had pizza from the kids menu and were able to add some additional toppings, they raved about the base and the crust, said it was the best pizza ever and as I was allowed a piece of their garlic pizza bread I can completely agree with them, delicious! I had the roast beef, hands down the best roast dinner I've had the pleasure of eating out! Normally when you go out for a roast the potatoes taste horrible and dry, but not here! very tasty, crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside and a lovely crunch to them. Beef was wonderful, nice and juicy and lots of it, the Yorkshire pudding tasted homemade and the veg cooked to perfection. My husband had the cheeseburger and said it was lovely. So we all enjoyed our meals and great service, if I could give it more stars I would.

Lovely Evening! Superb food and excellent service. Two tables of eight all served at the same time. We had such a wonderful evening. Great thanks to the waiting staff and chefs who made our night. The food is always excellent here, I really can’t fault it, and I am exceptionally picky. If you like good food, great drinks and a friendly service in a beautifully presented restaurant setting this is the place. This really is the BEST RESTAURANT in the area!

Excellent place for a meal out. The food is absolutely delicious, such good value for money. My family went for my grannys birthday and they brought out a surprise brownie desert for her, which she loved!

Went to Elliots yesterday for a dual birthday celebration, and it's a very nice place. The food was great, everything cooked and presented well and tasting excellent. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and the owner, well he is certainly a character! It has a relaxed atmosphere and a nice ambience, so we all enjoyed it a lot. We even had everyone singing Happy Birthday to us which was nice!🥳

Our meal was so delicious n everyone was so polite n welcoming we will certainly be going again n would recommend it too

We called here for a last minute Sunday lunch! And thankfully all the food we received was fabulous! We sat in the little outdoor patio/dining area- which was so pretty! There are some Great offers on, across the menu. We both Left stuffed and happy. Service was friendly and attentive. All the food arrived hot and tasty! We will 100% be back again! Thanks!

Food for serious foodies and an amazing experience. Tried a couple of starters and immediately knew this was a masterful chef who knows precisely what he’s doing and takes exceptional care and pride in what he does. I got excited and put in a request which was very kindly granted and Elliot whipped up an elegant and cleverly laid out 5 course tasting menu off the cuff which blew our minds and was an absolute joy to experience. The front of house staff were lovely and we felt very well looked after even though we were the only people in the warm and cosy little barn outside, and service was a perfect pace even with the indoor restaurant being (rightfully) fully booked. Even my dog was made welcome ❤️🐾 A treasured evening my friend and I will remember. Thank you so much. We will be back and will remember to give you all a very well deserved tip next time. So sorry I didn’t think to do that, especially at the best place I’ve ever eaten. 11/10 ⭐️

Came for a birthday date night, shared a garlic bread to start which was lovely, nice soft base with plenty of garlic, then my partner had the ribeye and I got the vegan tempura veg with chili sauce. The vegan menu has a good range, and staff are very knowledgeable - my partner also has a nut allergy and felt completely reassured and safe. Cocktails were delicious too! Lovely cosy atmosphere, a great welcome from the staff, and a delicious meal all round - we'll be back for sure!

My father-in-law was 80 and we chose Elliott’s! Boy what a wonderful decision we made. Food superb, staff out of this world and atmosphere electric! Couldn’t do enough for us. CAME HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND WOW ITS AMAZING! THE SERVICE WAS 5 STAR WE WERE GREETED WITH A SMILE AND THEY EVEN TOOK MY COAT! EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF WAS POLITE FRIENDLY AND ALSO VERY GOOD AT THEIR JOBS AND THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL I HAD THE DUCK WHICH WAS BEAUTIFUL AND STICK TOFFEE PUDDING WHICH WAS ALSO AMAZING! TOP PLACE !!

Visited Elliot’s last night and it was great. The food was really good- Fresh; delicious; well cooked; came in good time. Everything my party of 3 ordered was demolished. The service was great. All the waiting staff were fantastic. The place was nice, clean and welcoming. My friends and I would all go again. We all loved it. Thanks for a great meal Elliots!!

What can I say - every meal I have ever had at Elliot's is divine - he really is a great chef. The food is cooked fresh to order and is absolutely beautiful. There's not much I haven't tried but my particular favourites are fillet steak, fish and chips, the gnocchi starter and braised beef (on the current specials menu), chicken souvlaki - and the amazing Sunday roast. The staff are just delightful - friendly, efficient, always smiling and always attentive without being intrusive. If you haven't been then you really are missing out on this gem of a restaurant. Well done Can and team!

Great place. You can tell they take pride in cooking the food. I had Chicken and Chips, the chicken was cooked to perfect, moist and well presented. Chips were great and accompanying veg great too. All perfectly seasoned. There were 6 of us in our family, we all enjoyed our meals, great value for money, busy and great service. Couldn’t fault it. Well worth the money compared to a lot of other places that charge a lot for rubbish food.

Food excellent, our mains were a bit sparse (Spanish chicken) but tasty.

The food is absolutely delicious, I am vegetarian and the restaurant has plenty great options. My favourite is the truffle mushroom risotto, it’s incredible. But they have great food for meat eaters too, my boyfriend loves the Spanish Chicken on the menu. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff very attentive. I would wholeheartedly recommend Elliot’s!

Visited Elliot’s Bistro on a few occasions now and it’s always been a pleasure. Great variety of dishes something for everyone. Never had a bad experience. Looking forward to Christmas lunch there this year.

Fantastic food, beautiful atmosphere and absolutely lovely staff. We all tucked into the chicken and beef roast dinners and thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, we'll definitely be back! Update: We have now been back twice (for the regular menu as well as Sunday dinner), and we've booked again for next week because it's just fantastic! Whether we visit as a group with family or as a couple, we are always made to feel so welcome :)

The pub & decor was lovely. The food was reasonably priced and enjoyable. Unfortunately there was a party in the night we visited, who were very loud, which spoiled our experience a little

Came here with our families first, loved it - so returned the following weekend! The Special menu was different - so we had to order the Chicken and Chorizo risotto the Spanish Chicken. In terms of the cocktails - Bramble and Daiquiri are our favourites! Also the lamb spring rolls are something I never tasted before! From the previous trip - pizzas are a bit more mediocre, but the Lamb Rump stole my heart. Incredible manager, wonderful Cody atmosphere in the main pub and lovely young staff who can makeistakes, but are otherwise attentive and kind. Would absolutely recommend and would be returning! We vote for the introduction of the Loyalty Programme :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Elliot's Bistro - excellent Lamb rump in particular. Very attentive service by all concerned, and good lively atmosphere. We will certainly return.

First time coming: I had the duck breast for main course and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Absolutely delicious! Duck was cooked beautifully, alongside the vegetables with it. The sticky toffee was so soft and spongy, amazing!! I am definitely coming again. Such a hidden gem!! 10/10!! Atmosphere was great too! I am so glad to see it doing well.

We dined here on Sun 10th September and can not give enough praise. The food was superbly presented and tasted fantastic. Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were exemplary, being welcoming, friendly and attentive.

Hidden Gem! Food was excellent, duck was perfectly cooked, presentation was well thought out, vegetables were very fresh and seasoned. Polite, welcoming staff who didn't hover but we're very efficient and pleasant. Our drinks including a cocktail, served and presented beautifully with fresh mint etc The only negative we could find was the indoor decor doesn't compliment the high standard of food and service and actually thought we had wrong place at first as more local pub than bistro which hides and distracts from the beautiful food and fantastic service they have on offer. 100% will be returning regularly.

Amazing food, there was 4 of us, everyone has ordered different starters and mains and all of them were spectacular. Staff was very friendly, helpful, patient and polite. Great location, lots of parking spaces, warm and welcoming interior. Wonderful experience.

Dimly lit beautiful pictures and an artisan ambience that took us by surprise. The young staff were quite friendly, courteous and helpful especially with the children. They ensured that we were quite satisfied with our service and went beyond their duties. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We truly enjoyed our visit and would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants a great meal at affordable prices.

Lovely looking venue. Staff not very attentive as my husband waited 20mins for a second drink. I specifically requested no potatoes on my main course but with extra veg instead. When it came the fish was sitting on top of mashed potatoes and there were dollops of potatoes on top of the fish as decorations. Sadly had to wait whilst this was sorted out, then they still forgot the veg.! Regrettably the sea bass was only 1 half of the fish, (although it did taste delicious) and the lamb steaks were not plentiful either(although very tasty). When I got home I needed a cheese sandwich!

We booked the outside space for a special birthday party, ordering a buffet for 18 people. We had good communication with the owner explaining we had a gluten free guest. We were told this wasn't a problem. When the buffet arrived there was no way enough food for 18 adults! It was made up of pizza and sandwiches 1 bowl of olives, not even a chicken drumstick each. No GF came out so we had to request although this was part of our order. I then went and looked at the buffet menu and half the dishes were missing. The young waitress who was sorting it all out for us was very professional and polite. Unfortunately not the same can be said of the owner, (who on the 3 previous visits was ever so polite) Not once did he come out to ask if everything was satisfactory, or to listen to our complaint, the young waitress sorted it all for us. The outdoor space hadn't even been cleaned,the floor was dirty. The final bill was reduced to compensate proving our point! however we regret would not recommend this place a buffet.

Ate here last night, it’s nicely decorated and the staff are very pleasant. Ordered the Steak Surf and Turf, cooked to perfection! The medium rare was a medium rare, complimented with seasoned vegetables and Prawn garlic skewer. Chocolate Ganache with strawberry and ice cream… fab! Would definitely recommend eating here.
