Cheap and tasteless and obviously microwaved food....Expensive for what it is. Second and very last time we will go there!!!

Absolutely on point .. best eatery in Kent .. priced really well and service from Marsha and Katie was so personable and professional.. I would go back every time and so should you !!

It's a wonderfully busy bistro where customers are treated with courtesy, recall your allergies, if you like tea or coffee. The food is delicious and adapted to your taste buds. Service is Fantastic. The ladies are so friendly and attentive. My breakfast was delicious. A warm welcome as soon as you arrive. Prices are very reasonable and the chef is super quick. Decor and settings are amazing and you can tell their repeat business is because customer service is first class. Its nice to see that a cafe is so welcoming to everyone including minorities! Many cafes in Bwckenham should be trained by this Amazing Team!

Looking for somewhere to eat on a Sunday, we decided to go to Ems Kitchen. We had the cheese and onion omelette , the red pepper and mushroom omelette and a tuna and cheese jacket potato. The food arrived very quickly and the portion sizes were just right. Although it was busy with Sunday customers the staff were attentive and all extremally friendly. We were made to feel at home right away. The restaurant had a really nice feel to it, and it was nice to hear the other customers enjoying their time their too. Although the main meal was enough, we decided to go for tea and cake afterwards, and the cakes are amazing. Thank you to the team for a great eating experience. Next time I am in Beckenham, I will go back!

Lovely little find. Food reasonably priced. Nice coffee and fab decor. The staff were lovely and our order came out very quickly. After eating lunch I had no room for cake, but they looked delicious. So I can’t wait to return to try them.

I came here with my friend for a tea and a catch-up, I loved the vibe and the music You definitely felt right at home, and there was no pressure to order or finish your drink quickly. I really enjoyed the friendly service, the ambience and the attention to detail. It's the perfect place to catch up with friends and family, I don't find myself in Beckenham but I will be back again just for Em's Kitchen

Visited Ems kitchen on our first morning in Edinburgh and we were not disappointed. Lovely little placed and the foot was delicious. Recommended!

Varied menu, really good quality food, very decent pot of tea, lively staff, really good service. Excellent.

Pop back to em’s kitchen today young waitress called Lem was so polite and helpful she couldn’t do enough for us she really went out away five stars for her we enjoyed a lovely bacon sandwich topped off with nice cups of coffee good banter with the manageress lovely warm atmosphere definitely recommend

I have been a customer of Em's Kitchen, for a long time, and I can still be surprised by what the bistro offer. Today for my lunch I had a smoked salmon, avocado and feta cheese toasted ciabatta. Scrumptious. I would like to give my thanks and appreciation for all their hard work during the pandemic. It was a place of refuge and great restorative of the spirit.

I visited on a Saturday. The staff were so overworked it was awful to see and made the service extremely poor. Staff were running around constantly , forgetting orders. Drinks took ages to arrive. We were asked to move tables three times as there appeared to be much confusion about reservations. With different staff telling us different things. Asked for tap water several times to different people before getting some myself from the bar. Once our food arrived no cutlery was given and had to chase staff for it whilst we sat with our food. We asked three members of staff for the bill and it never arrived so had to approach the till where they asked us what we had - to create a bill! The people sitting next to us , they lost their ticket with their order so their food didn’t arrive… and they had to order again!! People other side of us got the wrong drinks. At one point a waitress was walking up to tables and asking people if they had eaten? When they had ordered. Clearly unclear what stages people were at with food. Such a shame because the place has so much potential and the coffee was top notch. Please management do yourselves a favour and employ more staff and have a manager overseeing service and not serving drinks. Especially on a Saturday !

My husband and I went to e&m Beckenham for lunch today. I ordered a cheese ham and onion toastie it was the worst I have ever eaten. Hunt the cheese bread not fresh and a nasty toastie. Whilst struggling to eat it the chef came out of the kitchen he looked unkempt and grubby. If we had seen him before ordering food we would have left. Really need to pull your socks up to keep open. We certainly won't return ever!í

Buzzy atmosphere, great service, food and drink. Ordered scrambled eggs on toast and a coffee, and although the cafe was busy, it arrived in under 5 minutes and was wonderfully tasty! Well done one and all, especially Em (the owner).

Poor service - It took 1.5 hours for wrong dishes to arrive. No compensation offered for starters or drinks. Startes way overpriced - e.g. for an avocado half in olive oil you pay £7.50.The place is loud, smoked and crowded. Attracts a certain type of crowd - looks like a place to get drunks rather than to enjoy a good meal.

Returned here after some time away and arranged to meet a friend as remembered from previous visits that this place served nice food and had a good atmosphere. Glad to say I was not disappointed as we both enjoyed the visit, ate a nice breakfast option, very nice homemade cakes and good drinks. All food and drink arrived promptly, well prepared and tasty. Service was prompt, very attentive, polite with good banter. Overall thoroughly nice experience and will be returning again soon.

We had an absolutely gorgeous vegan breakfast here. The food was delicious and the service was second to none! I can honestly say it was the best vegan breakfast I’ve eaten out and I’ve been to a few places.. it is such a lovely, vibrant, friendly and happy place. I will most definitely make it a monthly thing with my family.

Had there backs turned around from the customers most of the time and on there phones was rude , other then that the food was good well done to the chef

Ems Kitchen is always a great start to the day for us at the weekend! Usually an all day breakfast or brunch which is fantastic! The milkshakes and smoothies are absolutely great and Em and her staff are always so welcoming and friendly and alway take the time to speak to you and have a quick chat. Due to Covid restrictions currently in place we've only been able to use the takeaway menu but still not disappointed and staff are still so friendly. Keep on keeping on,Ems and co. Can't wait to be able to sit in again for lunch (which is often a very late all day breakfast halfway through the day!)

I've been to Ems Kitchen several times and was satisfied, however this most recent visit was disappointing. We had been seated but had to ask for the menus after 5 minutes wait. Unfortunately when the breakfast came the poached eggs were hard. I pointed this out and they were replaced - unfortunately still hard so I just left them. The overall quality of the food seems to have slipped. The staff are pleasant enough, so no complaints there. I really do prefer to support local independent cafes and shops if at all possible, but this one does need to improve on the offering to complete with the abundant choice of cafes and restaurants in Beckenham.

Visited here recently for first time since shielding and met with two friends. Whilst not overly busy, it was not too noisy which was nice so could hear each other talking. Service staff were polite and it was good to see that Covid precautions were in place. Menu is nice and varied with prices fairly reasonable. We all opted for different choices of salad which all arrived quite promptly, well presented and very tasty. Coffees were had by us all and were also nicely done. Would visit here again and look forward to doing so soon.

I was alone and waited what seemed like an age. I left when a table that came in after me was served first. It's amazing how crap this restaurant was today. They need to go back to school and learn how to serve customers. Terrible service and I will not be going back!

What a good little find! With this new eat out to help out scheme I decided to find some new local places that I hadn’t been to before. Friendly staff and good food. I can highly recommend the Kelsey park club sandwich! Will be back

Em's kitchen is open for takaway lunches and I decided to have a Sunday Roast. Chicken fell off the bone, broccoli, roasted carrots, yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. It was delicious and worth every penny. Will be doing it again. Highly recommended.

We thought this restaurant was excellent value for money and with nice service.One of our group who is gluten and dairy intolerant was catered for by some adjustment to the dishes which staff were happy to do.Food is various breakfast options, jacket potatoes, pasta and sandwiches.

Any Five star hotel would be like to have the chef at EMS Kitchen Beckenham. He cooks everything from scratch, even the sauce, with the best ingredients. Very well presented. Lots of innovative, creative vegetarian and vegan options. The waitresses are so attentive and polite. Very reasonable prices. Five stars!

We come here quite a lot, as it is just such a lovely, friendly and warm place that sells a really good variety of delicious food. You can tell that the owner has put her heart and soul into the place, and it's as warm and welcoming as she is. We always get a big smile and wave from Em when we walk through the door - it's like coming home! The breakfasts and brunches are delicious, and being mostly vegetarian we appreciate the fantastic choice of food for plant eaters. The jacket potatoes, omelettes and sandwiches are also scrummy, and I love the fries (too much!) but also adore the sweet potato fries. My guilty pleasure is the banana milkshake; my, it hits the (sweet) spot! The only difficulty we find is that there is so much delicious food on the menu that it always takes us far too long to make up our minds! It doesn't matter though - we always love whatever we order, it's all that good! Top tip: you can park round the back of M&S Food free for 90 minutes. You don't even have to get a ticket as they just log your number plate. It's a two minute walk through M&S and on the way back we usually grab any shopping we need with time to spare. It works out so well!

Visited Ems on New Year’s Day , the place was buzzing, had such a great atmosphere and the staff were so attentive and in such great spirits! We were told there was a wait for the food , but looking at the food we saw from other customers we were happy to wait . I ordered the smash n go and my husband the vegan breakfast, it was amazing, you could tell it was fresh & cooked to order . The manager so happy & full of smiles came to our table & apologised for the wait but we was happy ,,,, it was worth it ! Next time we will definitely book. Definitely worth 5plus stars !!!!!

The food wasn’t too bad although waiting an hour for the food came out wrong. unfortunately the whole experience in there just never made want to go back.The service took a massive hit due to the volume of people and one staff member in particular spoiled it for me. Whilst waiting for my food, he rushed customers out of there seats when clearly not finished to sit new ones down, (literally asked them to leave) asked to spilt up tables before getting an answer ripped them apart. Extremely rude moving people about to fit more people in and none directly towards myself. Unfortunately won’t be returning until the weakest link is gone. It’s a shame but my score directly reflects that one staff member

Lovely lunch. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. They had the place decorated tastefuly for Christmas. Great selection on the menu, and we were served promptly too. Seems popular, as there were quite a few people in.

Booked a table for 3 on the strength of Em’s website for lunch. We weren’t disappointed. Food was fabulous and lots of it. Friendly and cheerful staff. We’ll be back.

As it says in the title we waited 45 minutes for food to be brought to table, we did ask a couple of times how long it was going to be and were told it was imminent! The food actually was good when it arrived but then to rub salt in the wound we were overcharged which we didn’t realise until we were home, I guess this was the portion of chips which were supposedly on the house but the cost was spread across the four meals that we had. Won’t be going back

We love going to Em's Kitchen in Beckenham for brunch. Menu is really varied, service was excellent and food was delicious. I had the eggs Blackstone which was two poached eggs on breakfast muffins, hollandaise sauce and crispy bacon. Very tasty!

Its raining outside and bedraggled people ome dripping into this bistro, knowing that the food is of excellent quality and variety. It may be cold outside, but here its warm, bustling and familiar. The staff may change from time to time, but the atmosphere doesn't and how welcoming is it to without even saying your regular tipples name, as you enter, the barrista is making it. Added to my dark coffee today ham, eggs and chips. See pic below, proper ham yummy.

Visited here for a nice Healthy Breakfast, peppermint tea and also managed to make a food substitution without issue. Found service to be prompt, polite and courteous. Food and drink arrived quickly, hot and tasty. Menu is varied and caters for vegetarian and vegan options. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend a visit to this lovely establishment.

Love this place. Service is always good an you are always greeted with a big smile. Have tried most of the breakfasts and cannot fault any of them. Coffee is great, OJ is freshly squeezed and Milkshakes are yummy. Weekends can get busy so if there is a group of you it may be best to book ahead. Plan to try the Sunday lunch soon.

We've been to Ems Kitchen, twice now for breakfast. The service is great, very friendly and attentive, the cappuccinos are the nicest I've ever had, and the food was great. The only reason i didn't give it 5 is because it's still only offers payment via cash, would be ideal if they could improve on this.

Came here with a friend, we both had a baby and pushchair each which can be a problem for small cafes but the waitress was very welcoming and made sure we had enough space for the prams.

Em & Lous is a cafe in Beckenham that serves a really good selection of food that I've visited many times. They have a good menu and are generally ok about swopping an item or two on the meals. It can get very busy but you can book ahead and it is cash only.

I have been visiting this lovely place approx last 4years and I must say ‘simply the best ‘ for Breakfast to brunch, Sunday roast to coffee & cake... and specifically after a intense yoga class... this place has lots to offer...

It’s a small cosy place and the food is amazing. Em goes out of her way to make sure you have a pleasent time and you get everything you need. Also the other members of staff are nice and friendly. We’ve been going there for the last +4 years, not every week but whenever we have the chance. Same impeccable service and good food every single time.

We have been coming to Ems and Lou’s for a few years and we’ve never been dissaponted.

For sometime my friend Margaret and I would share a pot of tea before embarking on the weekend shop, next door. Sadly, my friend passed away in march, I found shopping alone very difficult, but thanks to the warmth of the staff at Em's Kitchen, I continued to call in and drink my coffee, before going home. It is almost as though by instinct, if calling in unexpectadly, they seem to know whether it is an egg, ham and chips day or mushrooms and taglatelli in a creamy white sauce. During the hot weather, new furniture has enabled patrons to sit and bask in the heat, outside watching the world go by, and you really should order something from the crushed Avocado menu, each a scrumptious and delicious riot on your taste buds. Its always a great dining experience at Em's kitchen, so please join my friends and I at this bijou bistro and soak up its wonderful atmosphere.

First visit. I ordered the smashed avocado and poached eggs. It was nice but the portion was quite small so was still hungry at the end. For the cost, was expecting more. Service was efficient but not very friendly.

Went with family for Sunday breakfast arrived at 11.20 and it was packed had to wait a couple of minutes but no issues quick efficient service staff were really helpful extensive breakfast menu at very reasonable prices something for everyone really worth the visit and shall be going again soon

Came to Em & Lou's for brunch today and was not disappointed! The friendly atmosphere was evident from the moment we walked in, (luckily we had booked as we were a group of 7). Great service followed by delicious, fresh food. The menu was extensive and the team were able to cater for adjustments we wanted to make to our orders. Despite being a very popular little cafe, the staff made us feel like regulars, only too willing to help! Cannot wait to come back!

We have just moved to Beckenham and visited Em and Lou's Kitchen on Bank Holiday Monday for the first time with family. We all chose to have the Bespoke Breakfast so that we could pick exactly what we wanted. It was absolutely delicious, not a crumb was left!

After an exhausting shopping expedition we needed something to eat . On entering we were greeted by a friendly lady behind the coffee station. We ordered our food and drinks, which arrived quickly. My poached eggs were cooked perfectly as were my wive’s fish fingers . A delightful experience from start to finish. I do see a problem however, we could become regulars. Let’s hope so .

Best breakfast for miles, eaten here a good few times and consistently excellent. Also a good variety of breakfasts for those who want something other than a fried breakfast.

My first choice for a weekend breakfast or lunch. There’s lots choice with great service and a lovely friendly atmosphere. I can highly recommend the American And Veggie breakfasts.

Popped in on a Sunday lunchtime; very busy but amazing. Staff were working like trojans but always with a smile. Customers were queuing for tables and looking at the food that was coming out I can see why: it looked amazing. We just had coffee and cake which was great too. Will definitely come back.

Another visit to this little gem. Husband had a very tasty lemon chicken risotto and I had a char grilled chicken and avocado salad. All very fresh and made on site. Very friendly staff. Would recommend a visit.

Local to me and my number one place to go for brunch in Beckenham. Great choice on the menu but I always plump for one of the all day breakfast options - so many to choose from. Loads of other options though if you want to be healthy. The cakes and puddings look delicious but never had enough room to try them Friendly staff. Cash payments only, but plenty of ATMs nearby if you forget.

Came here a few times for brunch or lunch. Great menu and the food is delicious! I have tried some of the different breakfast options but also the goats cheese salad was very nice. Friendly service. Be sure to book a table because it gets very busy at the weekend and we have often seen people waiting for tables.

Em & Lou's is a lovely place, it provides a cosy warm service and the food is very tasty. I always have the posh fish finger sandwich! Not too pricey or ostentatious but a cut above other cafe's of it's type. Definitely recommend it.

Honestly try this place, the minute we entered we were greeted like family. My four year old couldn’t decide and the lady (assuming em) was lovely to him. He left satisfied, and that makes me satisfied. Also the food was amazing and the entire family agrees it was the best fry up in many a year!

We have been to Em and Lou's multiple times and absolutely love it. There is a fantastic selection of food, whether you're after breakfast and brunch, or more of a lunch option. This time we had brunch with friends. Staff were friendly and food is delicious and really reasonable. This time I treated myself to the egg muffins with bacon. So tasty!

Arrived home at 5.48 am after a shocking flight home from an even more shocking holiday. 2 tired little children needed a pick up so lunch at Em and Lou's was called for. Staff are so lovely and accomodating, and their Eggs Benedict is my 6 year old's favourite treat. We always have a lovely time, and very good value. Cash only though.

I was kindly invited to a Marks & Spencer Good Service Breakfast this morning at Em & Lou's.I was very impressed with this cosy cafe. We had delicious bacon and sausage sandwiches. Croissants and plenty of tea and coffee. The staff were very friendly and smiley. I would highly recommend this cafe. Looking forward to a return visit.

I considered myself lucky to get a seat when l visited as the place was heaving. I ordered the veggie breakfast substituting the eggs for spinach, in order to make it vegan. Staff were friendly and took my order promptly. The breakfast was a very generous size and everything was cooked to perfection. Despite being a hefty portion, what l had was healthy, and not at all greasy so l didn't feel too guilty! A massive breakfast and a pot of tea for under a tenner is very good indeed. I can see why this place is so popular.
