Esquina in Erewash

Came in Christmas Eve and we have decided it’s going to be an annual family event! The food, services and atmosphere was impeccable! Thank you soooo much for starting our Christmas in such a fabulous way.

Staff are attentive and friendly. Generous portions of well presented and tasty food. I was full on three dishes so couldn't try a sweet!

The first time here, we went with friends who'd been before. The car parking was a bit tight, but once we entered the restaurant, the welcome was really warming. Our table was already ready for us, but I'd sussed out my drink of choice as we walked by the bar. I prefer beer, so the Beaverton neck oil did the trick on that score. We went for the two mains and side menu. Some great variety for us all. In fact, choosing was quite a challenge. The great thing about the menu was the extensive gluten-free options. In fact, their knowledge of this was admirable. They took time to discuss with my wife exactly what her needs were to get to the best options. This included gluten-free bread as the appetiser. To say the style is tapas belies the fact that the portions were generous, and we were all nicely full when we'd finished. The food was excellent as well, very tasty. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and made for a lovely experience. We will certainly return and would thoroughly recommend it. It must be popular as we went around 6.30 pm and there were a lot of people already seated. Our thanks to the team.

LOVE LOVE LO❤️E, this place. We’ve had Esquina on our list for a very long time and did not know what to expect. We looked at this and another restaurant but Esquina had the better menu, by far! 📃 Located in Sawley / Long Eaton area, on the corner, ironically. 😉 Parking was ample. Although they could do with some more lighting in the car park. We were greeted well on entrance and shown to our table. The restaurant has a nice vibe. Nothing too eccentric. Spanish mood. Table water is provided with drinks menu, standard menu and day menu. The menu is outstanding! The choices are divine. We found it so hard as to what to pick 😂. Eventually, we ordered our options. We were provided with bread and oil and humus dip. The dip needs to be sold on mass! You could eat it in spoonfuls lol. When our options came they were amazing! Every single one of them! The portion sizes were very generous. The taste of every option was just superb. We couldn’t find fault with any of them. The waitresses checked on us, as they did with everyone. Hard working staff made our experience more enjoyable. (Please feed this back to them). We were stuffed but creamed every plate, not to waste any. A thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyable experience. Then came the bill ! My word, it was amazing! I couldn’t believe the price of the bill. Our whole experience, we loved! Can’t wait to, and definitely will be returning soon. What an amazing place! Food is incredible, no complaints whatsoever. It did get quite loud inside but there was a very big party (20 people perhaps) at the long table. Staff were wonderful, and so very accommodating of my husband's wheelchair needs. Loads of gluten free options. Absolutely recommending this place to everyone!!!

We've been quite a few times . The food is beautiful. The staff are really friendly and serve you quickly. I must say the place was extremely noisy. It's also looking very tired and could do with a refurbish inside and out .

It's the friendliest place I've been for a long time, it wasn't just the staff but the other diners too, we had a private function upstairs and they brought a starter and main course selection up to us, the food was really nice so I could understand why it was popular. I wish I lived nearer as it's a great place to go and I'd like to try the full dining experience. Thank you Esquina

The food is delicious! Freshly cooked, fully of flavour and generous portion sizes. We went for the evening tapas menu, 2 mains & 1 side plus bread with hummus & oil to start. At £16.99 it's incredible value for money and really delicious! Couldn't recommend it more, the start are really friendly too.

This is a wonderful restaurant. I have visited here a number of times, and the food and service are always fantastic. My husband and I both have food intolerances that make eating out tricky. Esquina allows us a choice of delicious gluten and dairy free food. The menu is updated regularly and never disappoints. Highly recommended 🤌

We had the early evening meal, which is excellent value. Is it the best tapas I've ever had? No, but it's freshly made, cooked with love, and tasty. The service was also excellent - we both felt that staff really cared about whether we were having a nice evening. As we were both driving, I also really liked the extensive mocktail selection - it didn't feel like not drinking was a rubbish option.

Came here because the car suggested it when it thought we'd been driving for too long on the M1. Massively better than any motorway services and very nearly as convenient. Delicious food, friendly & attentive staff. Thank you

First time eating here.. Excellent service very attentive atmosphere is very cozy. The food was amazing and so fresh fantastic variety of options on the menu I feel everything was reasonably priced. We had seven different items off the menu two cocktails one pint of beer £75

Delicious food, lots of tempting choice. Great drinks menu. We were a little high maintenance due to dietary needs and as we were celebrating a birthday. No bother…The staff handled it well and are fantastic, v accommodating. Will be back!

First of all great value for money, you get plenty of portion size and the employees are very friendly. We did feel the tapas were just "ok/good" and lacked some authenticity, f.e. the meat selection, I could have sourced in a local shop. Can also get quite loud when full with customers, but that's just the layout of the building. Despite all this definitely a decent place to eat, as long as you are not expecting a true authentic tapas experience.

We jumped on the bus and paid a visit to Esquina and had a lovely meal. All our dishes were great and I would particularly recommend the Seafood salad. The staff were friendly and very helpful. This is gem of a restaurant with great selection on the menu and a magical chef producing wonderful dishes. It can get a bit loud but that is the sound of people enjoying themselves. Good transport links make it easy to get to and we will be visiting again.

Would not recommend service was shocking the front of house person was so rude needs to put a smile her face. Chef wiping sweat off his forehead while cooking. Taking bins out through the restaurant will never go again

Fantastic beautifull tasting food

1st thing 1st amazing, beautifully mannered staff. The food was fantastic all 4 of us couldn't find fault. Prices were very reasonable we will definitely going again!

Went for a ladies Christmas catch up. We had the festive menu which was 2 mains, a side & 3 drinks for £26 each. An absolute bargain! Our waitress Charlotte was fab, so attentive & helpful.

Overall great food taste and portion size. Friendly service and the same staff have been there for years which speaks well for the place. Since our last visit the hummus isn't as good, it used to have a LOT of lemon and garlic and was super tasty, now it is just mild. Some dishes could still do with more seasoning, the aubergine + manchego bake and chickpea stew come to mind, don't be afraid to add salt guys! Although I asked for salt and was given some so not a huge issue, just speaks to a lack of confidence with seasoning I think. Main criticism is that toilets could do with a lick of paint and proper deep clean as they are a bit grotty

Two visits both fab meals In nice restaraunt with good service you can't go wrong

Booked a pre Christmas meal for my partner and I, never had tapas so a new experience for us both went well armed with cash looking forward to the experience. Arrived half an hour early although the table was ready we had a drink in the bar. First impressions was a it was a very nice place. Went to the table 15 mins early the waitress explained the tapas menu and took our order we ordered 6 dishes and some bread as a bit of a starter, so far so good. 55 mins to an hour later nothing not even the bread others that had been seated after us were tucking in to their food. After raising our concerns with a member of staff the girl who took our order came over and claimed the kitchen hadn't received our order. How ? Not a glitch in the system because everyone else were getting their orders. She said the order could be resent and the food would be out in 15 mins, 6 dishes in 15 mins obviously not prepared fresh to order. We didn't stay , they didn't ask us to pay for the drinks. Not a good experience very poor service and an hour or more of waiting around. We can't review the food because we never got any.We won't return. On the plus side we had a nice steak at the Harrington arms in Sawley with great service. We will get to try Tapas but not Esquina there is a new place in Long Eaton we will try that one.

Lovely place to eat. Great gluten free options, fab food and service consistently good. Topped with very reasonable prices & great wines - what’s not to love?

Another visit to one of my favourite restaurants. Tapas at its best. Great menu, great food, nice portion sizes and staff are so friendly. If you haven't eaten here, why not? Get yourself booked in.

They were able to accommodate a late booking for a birthday celebration. Super food, wine and great service. We shall definitely be going again.

I can honestly say since the change from The Whitehouse I haven't been a fan maybe I'm bitter because I miss the beef Wellington however I tried the tapas last night and I can honestly say it was delicious, every dish was lovely and everyone on the table enjoyed their food and the portion sizes were more than generous and the quality of the food was great, every table was booked which again was a good sign... the waiting staff were warm and welcoming however they were very busy and maybe could do with an extra pair of hands... Can't wait to return and hope they change the menu on a regular basis

Great evening, lots of great food. If you go, be hungry before you go as they say to order 2 to 3 items, and they are really filling. Fantastic menu, very tasty items and the cocktails are superb. We'll worth a visit. Booking advised as it gets crowded at the weekend.

The food was really good except the desert really let it down as it was really burnt and didn't have much flavor. The restaurant itself has a small car park but no disabled parking, the terrain is gravel to get to the front entrance and there is a ramp but it is quite small inside and quite a cosy atmosphere.

First time eating here but won’t be the last. We were celebrating our son’s GCSE results and had a great evening. We had about 13 different dishes, 12 of which were great. Particularly good was the black pudding bruschetta and the chickpea stew. outstanding service, no hesitation to replace a dish ordered in a slight confusion. Lovely drinks menu. Relaxed atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. Will definitely return.

Excellent food, recently visited and was served lovely food. Service was great, and we will return. Unfortunately a group of 8 people tainted the evening by one of the party members swearing constantly, liked to hear the sound of their own voice I think, after a few more drinks proceeded to complain loudly about the delay in the tables food and how some had eaten the “starter’ already whilst others hadn’t and the rest of the food was taking a while to come out. I think this individual needs educating on what tapas is and that the food comes to the table as the dishes are cooked not all together plus you don’t have a starter in a tapas 🙄 The staff handled it very well and can’t fault them at all, the individual kept saying I’m sure they will make the bill “right” so basically after a free meal. This individual could of turned the whole atmosphere of the room I just hope it didn’t ruined anyone else’s night.

Came here for a birthday celebration midweek, what a lovely place, even midweek it was packed. Staff were really friendly and the food was some of th e best tapas we have had in a long time. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience tonight. We visited as a family of 9 ages 13-74. I’ve eaten out a lot in many different countries but the staff pulled it out the bag here tonight here’s why. 1. It was a special birthday meal for my mum. They let us take a cake and balloons and served the cake at the perfect time with no fuss. No faffing about or awkwardness and they gave us a proper knife and plates. 2. The food was amazing! We ordered far too much as we were greedy and not sure of portions. I’d go for 2 plates each for a good sized dinner. 3. We arrived early with a ‘starving’ teenager. Ordered some nibbles that arrived quickly and gave us something to graze on before the rest of the family arrive. This was great! 4. Mega quick to ask if we need more drinks which is so nice not to keep trying to catch anyone’s eye for drinks. 5. Yes. The food comes out in no order and is bought out when ready. We liked this as we all had a fork full of what was bought out. It’s a social way to eat. 6. We knocked a picture off the wall by accident - sorry! The waitress didn’t cause a fuss but we did apologise and leave a bit extra to cover a new frame. It’s a great little restaurant with well trained front of house and delicious food!
