Very friendly staff, lovely sausage in batter, but I was unfortunately definitely served last nights leftover chips re cooked. Hard, chewy, and like leather on the outside. Shame, this shouldn't happen when you spend money on food. Judging by the good reviews, I can see no other reason mine and my brothers chips were so disgusting we threw them away down the road.

First time using this chip shop and its bang on we have a chip shop literally 200 metres from our house but that one is awful. This one is approx 4-5 miles away will definitely be using again portions are huge which has pleased our 2 mastiff dogs as there was plenty for them too I would like to thank you Essex fish bar for great food please keep it up. Visited this great shop again today 3 years after the first time staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food portions are still massive and great tasting. My dogs are munching on the left over chips as i type this. Well done guys I promise I will not leave it that long again.8

I understand the shop is under new management. Would like to say I have tried the fish and chips but unfortunately every time I visit they are closed. They advertise that they are open until 10 in the evening. They are not. Please change your opening hours to the actual times you are open.

Huge portions and ok tasting but the staff weren’t so welcoming and it was much greasier than other chip shops. Very very oily so I was basically having oily bland fish and chips

Always looking after me and the lads in the office whether it be a small/big order!

The man behind the counter who I'm guessing is the owner needs to learn some manners. He is grumpy, patronising and downright rude. This is the first time I have used this shop and will certainly be the last. I would recommend using any other of the chip shops in Rainham over this one.

Freshly prepared fish and chips. I’ve have used this place three times in the last couple of months and they are consistent which is brilliant. The food is top notch and affordable prices. The staff are friendly too.

Chips under cooked. Sausage over cooked. Curry like water. Don't do gravy. Expensive and won't be going back

Just got threatened by the staff on the phone I thought this was a great shop nice food but when I requested them to tell me where my order was they was very aggressive and told me I can’t order from there again police have been notified about this

Dude had me and my pal waiting outside for 25 mins because he'd sold literally all the chips to a guy that came in after me 🤔 I think people only go here because their too lazy to go anywhere else (average food nothing special) They should probably get immigration to do a checkup on the staff to as I'm convinced they are undocumented illegal immigrants. Cheers for wasting my time though pal 👍🏻

Nice fresh fish and good clean oil. Food cooked to order outside of peak times and never held too long in the hot cabinet. The guys are really friendly too even if they are West ham fans

Proper fish and chips. You have to wait because they fry fresh for you as it should be. Be patient you'll understand why when you get it.if want old school memories get your food and sit down on the bench outside you'll be a teenager again.

Great service, game for a laugh staff & the main thing a very high standard of food quality, downside is pricing as a child portion of chips £1.50, adult £2 & 3-4x the size of child portion so dont get caught out😪

As my auntie received her bag of food she said “thank you is that everything in there” and the man was very rude and said “what do you not trust us? Give me the bag back” which she did and he openly mocked her unwrapping all the food saying “this is the sausage this is the roll would you like me to unwrap your chips?” He made a women who was on her own feel very uncomfortable and she was just making sure everything was in there because everyone’s taken their food home and seen there’s some missing before! Food was gross too! Rude service, not a traditional English fish and chip shop, avoid and use the one in rainham village instead!
