Exeter Exeter (m5, Jn 29) Brewers Fayre in Exeter

Had 2 continental breakfasts for myself & my wife . I had 4 pices of toast , while my wife had a bowl of cereal . There was very little else available & what was there was dry as if they had been out for hours . We spoke to others who were also disappointed. Very poor value for money !!

Very rude staff. Poor service. Plus, long wait. I have no idea why anyone would want to eat here.

When we first got here we tried ordering food at the bar and we couldnt because our table was reserved so they got us an unreserved table and still made is go to the bar to order our food. The website says it closes at 11pm but we get kicked out at around 10pm.the food was alright but the service was horrific.no maners at all,staff were rude. Overall never coming back EVER again

Won't go to this place again pay £18 for food and its was no bigger than a sandwich a total rip off

Quiet when we visited around 7pm but can get very busy around 5pm and at weekends Lovely food mains and pudding selection,great service thanks

Nice efficiently run establishment, breakfast was a little dried out, but evening meal was super,, staff were friendly and helpful, and the gorgeous manageress Claire is on her own, well worth another visit 👍👍

Visited with extended family, didn't book, told we could have a table but needed to be gone by 18.30....2.5 hours...think we can manage that. Scottish manager was rude to us, food took ages to arrive, brownies were served frozen to my children and we had to send them back. Manager kept looking over to us from the bar almost to put pressure on us to hurry up. Even heard the Scottish manager complain about another customer using vulgar language. Atmosphere was rubbish, made to feel unwelcome, dirty establishment, won't return if I can help it.

Nothing Friendly about this place… called in for a meal as staying nearby… refused entry as it was only for hotel guests of the Premier Inn…. Absolutely ridiculous,, the place was empty too… I will never return…

Apart from the tables being far to close to each other so it feels like your dining with complete strangers the service and the food was excellent though

Shocking experience! Waited over an hour for food, I ordered Veggie Lasagne and received a meat one. Didn't realise until I ate a bit of it. I have been vegetarian for almost 10 years and never experienced this before! Disgusting

Ordered the calamari starter. It was over cooked and dumped next to a pot of sauce, nothing else. The vegetable lasagne i had has full of water and taste like it, the salad that comes with it looked like it was dragged round the floor before it was put on the plate and the staff was about as friendly as a premiership ref with klopp. I am 43 and have never put a review on any restaurant before on any platform in my life. Most of the time i just get on with it but this is ridiculous, i have a premier inn account and stayed at hundreds in the last 20 years and never had this level of poor service and food I have had today.

Went for breakfast, disappointed lack of food no sausages eggs hash brown, just had to go back and forth not relaxing with frequent visits due to keeping kids happy.

Previously rated 5* however after our visit last week, it's had to go down by a few stars. We waited for over 75 minutes for our food due to a glitch with the systems communicating between the till and Kitchen. That I understand, but still from the moment my husband first asked how long our order would be to when our food arrived this was still another 30 minutes. My husband had to ask 3x before the gentleman admitted that our order was lost!! And took our order again. Upon the food being delivered we got an apology and after stating how unhappy we were about the wait and issues (yes by this time we were hungry! And a little less patient but still not rude) the gentleman stated we could get a free dessert for our trouble! We did not take that offer as by this point we just wanted to eat and Leave. I did feel sorry for the gentleman working front of house, as he looked stressed and was dealing with other issues, however I found the waitresses/waiters on that evening a bit rude. No acknowledgement from them, walking around looking glum and after another table asked for an update on their food, the waitress said she would find out and did not bother going back to the table with an update as a courtesy. Unfortunately this experience has put a bad taste in mouth, and I have twice arranged for team meals here (12+ people each time) but I shall be staying away for the foreseeable. It is a shame that 1 bad experience can ruin what can be a lovely place. The only good thing was the food was hot, and tasted lovely. My husband loved the pie 🥧

Took my mother and partner to lunch. Staff were welcoming, asked if any of us had allergies (I have coeliac), was given the allergen menu and were shown to our seat. Food was very good, didn't have to wait long, and my cutlery was sanitized especially because of my CD. I've eaten out in several establishments and this is the first time I've experienced this. 10 out of 10 for recognition of allergies. A great experience. Will be back.

The best battered fish i’ve ever eaten, outstanding fish and batter. Battered in-house with beautiful tender haddock. Love the unlimited tea refills too, ice machine etc.

Travelled here to have food to be told we would not be served as we weren’t premier inn customers. Spoke to the manager who was disgustingly rude!! Told us that we “should have booked a table”. She was an absolute disgrace never in my life have I come across a “manager” so rude in my life!! I will not be returning!! If she was stressed due to being under staffed she’s in the wrong job as treating customers the way she treated us was appalling

We were greeted this morning to a happy smiling face from the lovely Ellie. We chose the full English breakfast and it was delicious. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. Management clearly know how to run a happy ship and it was evident by our experience. I have had many breakfasts at different brewers fayre establishments. They are usually chaotic, so it made a fantastic change to eat in a calm peaceful environment with happy staff.

Great value meals. 2 mains for £11.99 and 2 Aperol Spritz for a tenner!

A refreshing change to actually have peas which taste just like garden peas, crisps sweet and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and welcoming. The steak was cooked exactly to requirement (rare) It would, however, have been nice though, to have been told that the peppercorn sauce was an added cost at point of order.

Excellent experience, got to my hotel (premier inn) later then I wanted so popped in here for last minute dinner. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful especially Josh who went above and beyond. The smothered chicken was also delicious. Of this experience couldn’t recommend highly enough! Great work

Came out with friends for a meal, excellent service by restaurant and bar staff, food was first class asked to speak to the chef to compliment him on the food his name was Ben lovely polite young man and great cook!

Lovely visit as always to Exeter brewers fayre - food was great and Tamera was friendly and polite. Everyone works so hard, will return soon. Great value for money.

I travelled for a lovely dinner with my daughter and we had a wonderful time the service was great and food was brilliant. Thumbs up to the chef especially, I believe his name was Ben.

Just recently had a breakfast front of house Chef Dan was very very good on quality of cooking hence I had 2 plate fulls will deffo return very soon couldn't fault a thing well done brewers faye Exeter.

Had a lovely meal here last night and was looked after by a lovely young lady called, Tamera. Thank you Tamera for looking after us.

Came here for a meal with partner and baby and I’ve got to say the attentiveness from Tamera was outstanding. She made sure we were comfortable and to top it off the service was immensely quick! Will definitely be coming back soon!

Have dined in at this particular establishment a few times due to staying for work appointments. I am always greeted with welcoming staff and nothing is too much. On the past couple of occasions I have been served by a member of staff called Brad he has always been so helpful and polite. Nothing is too much and is very attentive with customers when they are dining/ drinking. Thank you for.such good service.

Served with a smile and promptly. Relaxed evening and our waitress Ellie kindly ensured we always had what we needed, Nothing was too much trouble, we will be back as polite staff members make all the difference due to how rare they seem to be! Would recommend

Lovely restaurant with great ambiance. Food was delicious and served by lovely waitress, Tamera. Tamera, was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

Stopped by here on the way down to Cornwall. Never been to Brewers Fayre before so I didn't know what to expect. I'm fussy with food and I'm a snob with coffee but Tamera suggested some things and made sure my coffee was perfectly extra strong! Lucky to have such nice staff in that place. Cheers!

Visited with my family and Megan was very polite and amicable, we were overlooked by most other members of the front house team but Megan accommodated our needs and was very efficient. Will definitely return again

After reading some of the previous reviews was pleasantly surprise, got to say Ellie was very helpful. Very pleasant young lady.

Came here for a family meal and after about 25 mins the food came out. The portions were good sized and the lady that served us, i think her name was megan, was wonderful. She was happy and smiley and nothing was too much trouble for her. You really made out visit lovely. Thank you megan

Stopped off for dinner on my way home from work last night. Brain was a bit fried but Ellie really helped me make a decision and didn't rush me when I couldn't decide. Lovely service and the food was pretty good too 👍🏻. You know what you're getting with Brewer's Fayre

We had a lovely meal but the best part about the whole evening was the wonderful waitress called Tam. She was so lovely and an asset to the restaurant. Keep up the good work Tam.

I don’t often leave reviews but had a great breakfast here earlier this week and thought I’d leave a review to emphasise the high standard of food and friendly staff. Ben Sully was especially helpful.

Came here last night with my parents and grandparents. Was the grandparents first time here and they absolutely loved the food, loved the place and the service. We had a young girl, Ellie, serving us and she was welcoming and all smiles from the get go. She was more than happy to accommodate to any of our requests.

Came in for a quick bit of food, was tasty and service was quick. Helped by a member of staff called Josh who recommended a decent beer. All round good service and good atmosphere

We popped in for lunch while we were waiting for our bus to Bristol airport. The kitchen manager Ben ensured that our food came out in good time and I have to say the food was really good as well. Thank you. You helped to get our holiday off to a great start.

Had an amazing dinner! The food was incredible, but the real star of the show? Drilon, our waiter! This guy is a legend, like if Michelin stars were for service, he’d have five of them. He knew the menu better than I know my Netflix password and made the whole experience a cutesy. Highly recommend especially if Drilon’s working. He’ll make sure your night is chef’s kiss!

A frequent visitor to Midlands and Somerset for my sport. Normally stop in Exeter for breakfast, which sets me up for the day. My waitress Tamera is always friendly and cheerful.

Popped in for some quick lunch with family. Food was good, came out quickly and Josh could not have been more helpful & attentive.

After a long drive visiting friends, I stopped by for something to eat. The food was excellent, and the staff were impeccable. One staff member in particular, Drilon, was extremely kind and helpful. His service was outstanding, and thanks to him, I will definitely visit again.

Me and me family decided to go and visit and not only was the food extraordinary and affordable but the service was amazing and helped me and my family the entire time with our dining experience, if you’re ever keen to visit please look out for the young man by the name Drilon and he’ll assist you perfectly.

Come here regularly and never dissapointed. Drillon served us, he was professional, kind and very smiley. He is always helpful. Will be returning.

Once again fantastic service from brewers fare we always stop here on our way to Somerset from Cornwall so it's at least every six weeks the food is always hot and delicious especially the curries and we often use it for breakfast which is a very good deal They were very busy today and thanks to Tamera finding us a table and getting our drinks for us we couldn't ask for a better service Tamera was very friendly and helpful and showed an interest in everything we said Which makes a change as some establishments the staff are not interested We always call here as it's easy to park and accessible I would recommend to anyone who is travelling through Exeter

Today I went w my family and we were greeted by a genuine nice waiter that was able to help me and my family order and was extremely helpful. Please look for Drilon. if you’re interested in visiting. Wonderful place.

Sat down by, and served, by Drilon. He was very helpful and attended to all my questions. Food was brought out very quickly by Ellie. Very good food, would recommend to visit.

Terribly managed (as others have also commented). We stayed at the Premier Inn next door and breakfast is always part of the experience. At this place, the Brewer’s Fayre manager, “Zach”, told us there was “not enough food left”. This made no sense given it’s a breakfast buffet. I suspect the real reason was a lack of staff based on other reviews. Staff seem to believe customers are an inconvenience and were rude and unhelpful. I won’t be returning to Premier Inn soon due to this experience and would never return here. Avoid.

Dreadful place with some very drunk and odd people, won't ever be going there again!

Have been eating at Brewers Fayre for decades and sometimes mixed experiences with the quality of food, but overall always been happy with things and like most other locations enjoy the modern interior decor and layout of this Exeter restaurant. The location is convenient with the M5, Pinhoe and Sowton all just a short drive away. Staff here have always been helpful and friendly doing there best to resolve any ordering or meal issues, the meals themselves are good value for money when using loyalty card promotions, promotion vouchers and menu meal deals etc., perhaps not so for what they are if paying the full main menu prices. Large car park shared with Premier Inn is free, remember to register your car reg number when entering the premises though! Overall a positive experience especially during off peak times when quieter!

Too pricey for what you get. The fish, well we had a job to find any the batter was so thick and hard. The mash was secondary heated and rubbery. Bangers tasted weird. Will not be re visiting.

A great budget hotel. I love Holiday Inn Express, you know what to expect from the rooms, the breakfast is great and great nights sleep. Would definitely use again!!! I would also recommend downloading the app before you go for parking it’s called YourParkingSpace. There is a location at front to do as well.

Great food quick service amazing atmosphere

Food was nice when it arrived, but took over an hour from ordering to eating, and missed a starter which we had to chase up. Kind enough to give us a free drink for our long wait

Cold chips ,peas and tomato, small fatty bit of gammon, would have given zero stars, bit given 1 star for the egg, was the only hot thing on the plate ! Won't be coming back.

Staff was ant very helpful and they took a long time to bring food, food not the same anymore small portions not value for money now

We visited For 2 nights breakfast was brilliant. Such variety, Dinner in the evening was great and Claire was an amazing host, efficient and very pleasant remembering us from the previous night and asking about our special day.

Visited this morning with my partner and 2 kids and what can i say the staff were fantastic they were so busy with bookings but they still managed to squeeze us in making sure we had everything we needed. I think it was the mangeres i don't know her name was lovely. If i could move the staff from this one to the one by mine i would be there all the time. Thank you for fantastic service and being so friendly.

The booking system is a joke!! As stated how many adults booked 2 then states how many kids under 12 none in special requirements I put 3 teens. Which totals 5. When got there we had a table for 2 booked!!!!! The host wouldn't even compromise. Will not be back

Toilets were disgusting and a lot of cubicles were out of order.

Denied service because l was not staying at the Premier Inn as restaurant was anticipating punters from Premier Inn. How do you deny service on a hunch of anticipation when there are no confirmed bookings. Restaurant was not even half full.

Amazing stay here at premier inn as always! One of my favourites if their hotels.

Staff were lively but honestly the food was worse than awful. The turkey had blood running through it I should have sent it back. The stuffing was soft and tasteless the veg well not sure what to say. My husband had a mixed grill which was cold . Very disappointing as it was quite a good place to eat but never again.
