How stupid of me that I haven’t been to a Pie and Mash shop yet! I’m happy to say that this one was a great choice. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff were very friendly. The pie was very nice. The dough wasn’t as crispy as I expected, but it didn’t spoil the enjoyment. Thank you kindly, F Cooke Pie and Mash!

Lovely family run business. Whilst working in the area, decided to bring some home and it didn’t disappoint. Superb 👍👍👍

F Cookes provided the food for my Mother's wake. They went completely above and beyond....they started cooking hours before opening (and usual) to provide the food for our sad event....the food was AMAZING, we had asked for extra liquor and boy did we get it! My mums favourite meal, enjoyed by everyone that attended and not a morsel left!! Amazing service, kindness, and understanding. Can't recommend highly enough ♥️♥️♥️

Started off really nice but the prices have gone up and the standards have gone down I was weaned on the stuff as a child in the east end and absolutely love the stuff Clean honest food that will sort you right out However this place is not good enough and the prices are a Micky take Off to the east end for the proper stuff and at a decent price Or even walton on the Naze is far better and at £6 a plate is worth the drive over Sorry won’t be back

Food was excellent. The portions are quite large. Small space if a very large party and no bar space just to have drinks.

Although my previous visit was some while ago, this beautifully-maintained venue has not changed. The environment, the service, and the food on my recent visit was as good as ever.

What a treat. Came to host for lunch with my wife. Food and drink was served promptly and was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Picked Rosey Lea because it has kerb appeal and there was a pretty terrace to enjoy the last of the summer. Had a simple lunch of baked potato and a glass of wine which came to £17.45. The spud was OK and came with a decent amount of salad. However, for that money I want a big, fluffy and really hot potato where the cheese is happily melting in to the mix. The one I had was warmish and smallish. Service was friendly but on the slow side.

Awful service during my dads 80th birthday celebration. When we booked a table we told them we would only be having drinks and a few bowls of chips. They told us we could have a table near the bar. When we arrived for our booking, they showed us to a table at the back of the pub which was laid out for a full meal. I explained we wouldn't need menus only to be told "in future, just so you know, you can't book these tables for drinks". I explained that we hadn't and that we were supposed to be sitting near the bar. I then I got told "we had to move you to accommodate other customers". So they moved us and then told us off because they didn't want us on the tables they gave us 🤔 Poor attitude I thought. Then we ordered 5 bowls of chips and drinks. When the waiter came over to give us the chips he noticed my kids had a bag of sweets on the table. He told us the kids couldn't have the sweets in his restaurant and we had to put them away. Absolutely bizarre attitude, as if a bag of sweets somehow affects their business? We spent £92 so not the smallest amount, we got a Crappy attitude from their staff. I have used this place regularly until today. Won't step foot In there again. I will head somewhere that appreciates their customers instead.
