Best food and service . The young lad best service you could have. The manager he was just the same. food was excellent and could not fault anything. Would recommend this bar/restaurant.

Lovely food, had the beef brisket with mash potato. Plenty of beef, just not enough mash or gravey, with the price there should of been more. Which is a shame as it was amazing food. Staff are usually lovely one was, then another member of staff seemed like he was having a bad day, wasn't busy though. Overall nice place

We had christmas dinner but they shut the kitchen despite me pre-booking the menu and telling that we will becoming after work at 8pm. Hence that was a bit disappointing but the food was wonderful. Extremely tasty starters and good experience overall.

It was just ok. The cajun prawns weren't cajun, more Italian. Tomato sauce on piece of garlic bread I think But the 4 king prawns were tasty. The cod main was nice enough the side veg was very welcome. But the "pavlova" was very disappointing. It was just a ready made meringue nest with some sour berries. Not good. Despite dining early evening they ran out of vanilla ice cream so most of my family had brownie with strawberry ice cream. They didn't have Pinot Grigio wine from the menu so we ended up with the house which was ok. I just wanted a dry wine with my fish The fridge isn't great as the rose was warm and i was served a large at £7.95 without being asked a size choice. Peroni 6.50 tiny splash of lime 50p. Staff were nice, we were a party of 9 so went to the bar ourselves. Kids food was good they enjoyed it. Was just ok but not worth 24.99 per person. Drinks seemed dear for the venue but hey its Christmas.

The service was literally the worst. The menus were thrown at us/ the table - it could have easily been handed to us but no. The food portions were alright, but the bad service left a sour taste in my mouth. To be fair, we might have been targeted as it seemed like other customers were well attended to. We had to constantly call on someone for simple things like getting our orders taken. Not once did the waiter approach us. With other tables, that wasn’t the case. So we felt stigmatised. We are people of colour, so it’s not difficult to deduce a reason for this appalling service. If you’re okay with terrible service then this is the place for you.

Had a great meal here with family. Fairly large table and we were well looked after. Food was decent quality and a really fair price. Will definitely be back soon

As regular customers we decided to try the new fixed Sunday menu as it is under new management. I had Thai fishcakes , which were OK but would be better with a chilli sauce instead of the yoghurt dip. My wife had liver pate which she enjoyed. We both had the Sunday roast, chicken for her and beef option for me. The beef was a little tough to cut and a bit chewy. Creme brulee was OK. The menu is a big limited and not enough choice if you don't like burgers or pizza. We regularly have a meal here for special occasions but probably look at alternative options for the future.

Wonderful dining experience. The food is beautiful and the service is excellent. The beef brisket melts in the mouth and the cheesecake is so creamy and light. Great prices too.

This place was closed when we turned up no notice of closure This was an anniversary meal and was disappointed we had no notice luckily we were able to get a table at Albert's in standish

Absolutely love this restaurant food outstanding every time we go, I take my 16 year old daughter and she loves it and we all know how hard it is to please a 16 year old.

Felt really welcomed on entering the restaurant, staff were lovely and attentive. We were seated and asked for drinks and they were brought promptly. We ordered the lamb rump and the pork three ways, no starters as I noticed they offered a cheese board for dessert! Food was amazing so was the service. Highly recommend.

We went with family to celebrate a birthday, The food was great well the first two courses were they forgot to bring the sweets for 2 guests even after asking a member of staff they still didn't bring them and then tried charging for them so based on this as nice as the food was I probably won't go again.

The service and atmosphere inside were very good, I personally was not over impressed with the menu, I had the pork 3 ways and it was ok but the belly was extremely fatty as you would expect and the pork steak was dry and tough.

Went for a family get together, a surprise retirement party. There were 4 or 5 other large groups as well as standard Saturday night diners, the staff coped excellently, everything was prompt and efficient despite the place being packed.

Upon our arrival, we were initially uncertain about the establishment. Yet, the moment we entered, we were welcomed by a delightful host and an enchanting ambiance. The venue captivated us with its beauty, and the staff’s exceptional service was truly remarkable. The extensive menu offered a diverse selection of culinary delights. From the beverages to the appetizers, and all the way through to our entrees and desserts, each dish was exquisitely tantalizing! I wholeheartedly endorse this dining experience.

Just come back the steaks were hard and dry we was first ones in so not busy told the waitress and all we got was sorry will not be returning

My first time it was a surprise from my husband and what's an amazing one , from walking through the door to be created with a smile a super clean restaurant relaxing music that wasn't to loud , the our drink then our started which where amazing , the mains where just as amazing then the dessert my husband loved

From the moment we entered this place had the best atmosphere, very friendly staff who are more than willing to accommodate, made us feel really welcome which is always a lovely touch. Every dish we had was really tasty, fresh, and so enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back! Definitely worth the price.

Busy restaurant, great service, and atmosphere. Food was good, meat well cooked, I would of liked a bit of salad on the side. Marked them down for the no salad or garnish, but had a lovely time with the family.

Perfect, four of us chose from the 2 course set menu, starters were excellent, would recommend the black pudding. Mains were excellent, steak was big & cooked perfectly, chips were lovely, brilliant value for money. Service was spot on, highly recommended.

Shocking service. Consistently brought the wrong orders for 4 of us. Got lasagne but it looked like it was swimming in tomato soup and the pasta was too soggy. Staff didn’t seem to know which table ordered what. Staff more attentive to larger parties. Will definitely not be going again

Decent place. Food was absolutely lovely, staff wasn't very happy or welcoming really. We was about to leave a tip but turns out they already added it to the bill without us even knowing so it took the appreciation away....

Good value, food was quite average. The beef brisket was tiny, yes it was off the good value set menu (£20 for three courses) but it was small. Food service was quick (maybe too quick) but drinks service was quite slow and we took off the ten percent service charge off the bill. The bruschetta was tiny with wilted, what I think was basil on top. The star of the show was the lasagne which came with lots of nice bechamel. The atmosphere was great, with upbeat music and lots of birthdays and cakes around the place. We wouldn't order off the set menu if we came back.

We hadn't been here for a long time, but we had our mother's 90th birthday meal here last weekend. Absolutely fantastic food, service and atmosphere. We will be back very soon 👍

In December I booked a table for 3 for 3rd January 2024. It was for myself and 2 friends who i dont see often as i dont live in uk. I booked for 12pm. When i arrived the door was shut but I was a few minutes early so I waited. I knocked just after 12 but no reply. About 12.10 someone opened the door and said - yes. I told him i had booked etc. He said they had a big problem and werent opening. I said if i had a booking for 12 then why hadnt he at least looked to see if i was theré. He said he had only just seen me outside. So he didnt seem to have any idea of my booking. But, I also asked why didnt someoné at least ring me. He said they didnt have my number. All very contradictory! Then hé said no staff would come in aftér new year as they were very tired! I recommended that he should do rotas to give all a fair break and he said if he shouted at them they walked out. I wasnt surprised¡ This conversation went on but was going nowhere. I accepted that hemay have had a problem but that didnt resolve our issué of not knowing where to have our meal as a lot of places weré closed. He kept saying to me i dont know why you are angry! I told him i wasnt angry and had never ráised my voice. However, I was disgusted with his attitudé ánd service. My friends had arrivéd and i expláined it wasnt open. They also saw I wasnt getting angry. He was rude, tried to be condescending and very unprofessional. My friends and i decided to go. I said to him, a little advice for you. Once the problem in the restaurant was resolved, i suggest you go on a man management course to teach you how to treat your employees. Treat them well, respect and look after them and in return they will do the same. Sorry this is longwinded. We did wonder if they judt didnt want to open as they only had us booked. And when we keft he went in and absolutely slammed the door! I should add, to be fair, that i had been taken there once before for lunch and the food was fabulous. All was good but the above guy wasn't around.

Quiet tonight but good as always. Food delicious though where we sat wasn't the warmest so Ill be aware of that next time we're there.

First time visit, really enjoyable experience. Pleasant greeting and warm welcome, had just re-opened after post-Christmas/New Year break. Attentive and timely service, good varied menu, plenty choices and good sized fresh and well cooked portions. Competitive prices, Will definitely return. Special mention for attentive server Chloe G, polite and pleasant tireless worker, never stopped all evening.

Lunch time food menu was amazing and delicious, homemade, fresh and extremely tasty ,served with fabulous smiles and attention from the Chef. Portions were very generous and the venue was stunning too. I can't wait to visit again.

Three friends meeting up (one of which lives in Spain and is only back for a short while) had made a booking for today. When she arrived (at the correct time) the door was shut and locked. After knocking someone opened the door and stated they “we are closed” Initially he said there was an emergency (no idea what) but later in the conversation this changed to having no staff as they were tired! He had not even tried to contact the person who made the booking despite having her phone number from when the booking was made. He (he said he was the owner) became more and more aggressive and rude, and then slammed the door shut in our faces. We fully understand that emergencies happen, and maybe at short notice he hadn’t been able able to contact us…it was his attitude and demeanour towards us that was very unprofessional…if this is how he handles customers then he won’t have many..

Very over priced, food presented poorly, paid £29 for a fillet steak, looked so bland just the steak a bowl of re-heated chips and a flat burnt mushroom, looked like it tasted, awfull, wife's was the same but shd had chicken but she did get some green beans, potatoes again re-heated. My advise give it a miss way to expensive fir what you get.

First time I’ve visited this place and it was fantastic. We visited for a works Christmas meal and we had a great time. The food was excellent and the price was extremely reasonable. The staff were also very friendly and professional. Would definitely visit again.

on arrival the restaurant was cold and quite a few guests kept their coats on, the food was tasteless, overcooked and cold. the staff hovered over you to whisk your plate away before you had finished you felt rushed. all in all a very disappointing and expensive evening

we went for a work lunch, would recommend the Thai Fishcakes, ciabatta, black pudding and sticky toffee pudding

Food was great as was the service, no veg with main meal,( genuinely not a complaint I'm just mentioning this incase you're expecting veg with your meal, personally this didn't bother me at all as the food was top notch) gave 3 stars for atmosphere simply because we were eating early and there was only one more table, shain probably much better at busier times. Would definitely recommend 👌

Had a mid week meal with my daughter. Staff were quick to seat us and organise drinks quickly. Meals were ordered and questions answered about an item we were ordering. Food arrived quickly and was hot, and very tasty. I ate the braised beef which couldn't have been more tender and tasty. Good portion sizes too. Prices were fair as this isn't a low end place and all boxes were ticked as mentioned above. I marked the atmosphere down as it was early on a Tuesday evening so wouldn't expect a large place like this to be busy. It isn't a reflection on the staff or venue. Thanks for a lovely meal 😋

Lovely food, good friendly service

The food was excellent and the service second to none. The best meal we have had out in ages.

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times, which tells you everything about the food, atmosphere and service. The food is always 5 star, cooked to perfection - the service is always with a smile, and more importantly the food is served on time and hot, nothing worse than cold food - unless it's a salad lol. These days after COVID and the cost of living crisis the quality of food seems to have deteriorated as cheaper options have come in, but not here, always quality food. You will not be disappointed!

Ideally located near to Wigan Town Centre, we were able to make a group booking in advance and found the staff on arrival to be extremely friendly and welcoming. Very reasonable priced meals was also a positive too.

Been twice in the last year. First time I had a booking with 16 people and I was unexpectedly charged for 17 people which had been resolved. Then another time on the 27th of August and tried to charge us for a round of drinks we didn't even order because we all went to the bar separately. This then made it apparent to me that these extra charges are definitely being done on purpose. Not only that, staff can't afford to be nice for more than 2 minutes. Joke of a place.

Family birthday, 4 adults & 2 children. Couldn't hear waiter due to noise. 2 private birthday parties in same room. Monkey's tea parties. Food mediocre, nothing special. Nice looking restaurant outside and inside but image is deceptive. Slightly pricey for standard and presentation of food. Take away noise and still would be disappointed. Wouldn't return

This has been a regular place for the girls to have a catch up as it has always been a warm welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and serving a good variety of tasty fresh food however last night was a great disappointment. The food portions have got smaller for the same price, presentation was poor lacking in garnish. The Thai fish cakes which I usually enjoy were thin, sloppy & overcooked. The vegetables that were once complimentary, fresh and cooked just right you now have to pay for & we ended up with a bowl of over boiled cauliflower which had 2/3 slithers of carrot & a single piece of cabbage between 4 of us. Not impressed at all, has the chef changed?

Found the restaurant on "search nearby reestaurants" on Apple Maps and turned out to he an EPIC MEAL, certainly will come back next timr in Wigan. Beef Brisket and Pan Fried Chicken Breast with asparagus. Totally recommended.
