Fifield Inn in Windsor and Maidenhead

Well we love this pub in the Summer for a drink, but never eaten here. We did today - last minute decision. They accommodated us for a table of 2 and a dog even though they were really busy! We had a roast pork and lamb, and honestly one of the best roasts I have ever had. Gravy - amazing. Mac Cheese - amazing. Meat portion - amazing. Considering how busy they were service was great. I will definitely return !! Well done to the team today :) .

Had a fantastic time from the time we arrived to when we left. Although it was very busy, the team were so attentive and pleased to accommodate any further requirements. As to the food, well done to the kitchen for great food, on time and perfect. Happy Christmas to you all and thanks.

Had a Sunday lunch here with friends. The beef, chicken and pork belly all delicious. The gravy was amazing and we all really enjoyed the cauliflower cheese. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We felt was excellent value. We will return!

My wife and I dined at The Fifield Inn yesterday lunch time. We were surprised with how the menu had been elevated since our last visit. It looked fantastic and we deliberated long and hard before making our choices. I had the wood pigeon salad to start followed by the halibut. My wife had the burrata salad and the pork katsu scoth egg. All dishes were extremely well cooked and extremely tasty. Staff friendly and attentive.

We dined as a family of 12 people last Sunday. The staff were attentive, friendly and professional. The food was outstanding...The rack of ribs, exceptional. Sunday Roasts are up there with the best I've ever had. I highly recommend The Fifield Inn and can't wait to return....

Visited the Fifield in with a group of work colleagues ordered food,venue was comfortable. However from that point the experience went downhill due to waiting 45 minutes for the arrival of food we were all extremely hungry and looking forward to the meals that we had ordered. Myself and two other colleagues had ordered the risotto and sea-bass Upon taking the first mouthful it was extremely tasteless and stodgy I would describe it as being sat in the fridge for most of the evening before being warmed to dish up. It was a very starchy taste. The restaurant was not particularly observant to the guests once the food had been served. We were all extremely hungry, After discovering the rest of-my colleagues were also feeling the same in regard to the food we decided to chat to the management. We were offered us to have an alternative meal however we declined the offer which point were advised the cost of the three meals would be removed. We waited for the bill to arrive. During this time staff bought out a pizza and chips which they informed us was complementary. However when the bill arrived only one of the risotto Seabass cost had been removed from our bill and so therefore we spoke to the manager. The bar manager advised that they were unwilling to give further discount due to the fact that they had provided us with complimentary pizza and chips and that the meals that we had returned were half eaten. I explained that we had not asked for the complimentary food , and the reason the meals were semi eaten was because the food had taken so long to come out to us. If the staff restaurant had been more observant and come back to our tables after serving the meals, we would’ve been able to provide them with feedback regarding what we were having to eat in most cases, restaurants staff will check in with their guests to ensure that their meals are as expected, however in this case it did not happen We were all very hungry having not eaten for the whole day looking forward to coming to what we thought was going to be a nice meal. The bar manager refused to remove the cost of the meals and offered 15% off of them only. Really disappointing evening. Customer service should be priority particularly on the first ever visit to their venue. Very disappointing. It seemed apparent that the customer service matched the food. Iwould not recommend

Fabulous food and really good value for money. I need a GF menu and almost everything is available GF if wanted, very impressive ! Now I've said that please don't put up the cost !

Had very high hopes having selected this to meet family for lunch. Welcome was good, nice table outside but we waited 1hr 20mins for our food to arrive. Service was disorganised - several people doing the same thing, serving the same tables & repeating questions. Our basic drinks order arrived wrong to start with. Seems likely they then missed our food order as other tables who arrived a long time after us had food delivered first. They were all roast meals so not complicated. After an hour wait we asked how much longer it would be, only to be told they were short staffed in the kitchen & it would be another 10 mins (took longer in reality). If that was the reason, diners should be given that information when they arrive to manage expectations. Two stars as the food was nice when it arrived. Sadly didn’t have time for desert or coffee.

I recently booked the Fifield Inn to celebrate my Dads 80th Surprise birthday party and it did not disappoint. A kind and friendly welcome right from the start, in particular Elaine who was tentative from the day of booking and made everything so stress free, accommodating my budget and needs. I chopped and changed between setting up inside the restaurant or outside on the lovely partially under covered patio? With a last-minute change on the to set up outside as the weather was going to be fine, and nothing was too much trouble. As guests started to arrive, I quickly realised that our numbers had grown and we would need more buffet. Although the pub was busy with other guests Elaine saw to this and it was no trouble to quickly add to our buffet. The staff were friendly and extremely hard working throughout the day and evening. Elaine came and found me several times throughout the afternoon to make sure that everything was ok and if we needed anything else before she had to leave. It couldn't have gone better. I highly recommend the Fifield Inn. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING LOVELY PLACE AND PEOPLE!

Perfect lunch for our Pub Walk group. This was the first time we have visited the pub and we will definitely be back. From my first contact with the pub by phone and then email I received a warm and efficient response. The service for the group of 16 couldn't have been better friendly and very efficient. The ladies serving us chatted to the group and checked several times that we had everything we needed. Food was delicious, I had many comments by our friends how much they liked the pub and the food. We held our wedding reception here and it was perfect!! The pub transformed into a beautiful venue simply by adding flowers, fairy lights, and table decorations. We had a BBQ in the garden and it was delicious and there was so much food. The staff were fantastic, so attentive and helpful, whilst also being fun and friendly with guests. Laura the manager couldn't have been more helpful in the lead up to our wedding aswell as during the day itself! If you're looking for a relaxed pub atmosphere highly recommend the Fifield!

Stumbled upon this quaint gastro gem when leaving nearby legoland, hoping for some dinner before we headed back to the Midlands. The manager made every effort to accommodate us as such short notice (table of 8) and every aspect of our experience was top quality from the staff to the decor to the food to service /wait times, fantastic. Being down south we were worried it would be “southern prices” but again pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced it all was. It’s just a shame we’re not local otherwise i would most definitely be back!

A memorable dining experience - for all the right reasons. We were warmly welcomed online when we booked and in person. The service was very efficient and the manager most hospitable. We liked the ambience of the mood lighting and the lively atmosphere. The food was delicious - really tasty. Great speciality pie! Meaty and intensely smokey BBQ wings. Nice to have the option of smaller 'tapas-style' bar dishes as well as the main menu, all reasonably priced. There's a good selection of beers and gins, too. We'd defo recommend this gastro pub!

We last visited The Fifield Inn around six months ago when visiting family. After a lovely meal last time, we decided to go again as were impressed with their online menus. We're not big foodies but really enjoy simple food cooked well. I had the fish & chips and my husband had the burger. Both meals were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Twelve of us dined for the festive menu. Superb food all round matched with great service. The roast dinners were exceptional, up with the very best we've had. Other diners sat opposite and adjacent to us, also made very similar comments. Can't wait to come back !!!

What can I say, another cracking Sunday lunch at The Fifield Inn !! Service was attentive and friendly as always. However, the Sunday roast was the star of the show. We couldn't fault it, it was 10/10. Generous slices of beautifully cooked meat, crispy roast potatoes, great cauliflower cheese and a medley of seasonal vegetables. The turkey gravy was incredible. They should sell that gravy as a side line, I'd buy tubs of it !!!!!

Food was lovely. The servers were great. The locals in the building were so loud, screaming and shouting etc that we struggled to hold a conversation. Young children were also permitted quite late. I might try again but certainly not on a weekend evening.

We chose this pub at random but were not disappointed. We sat outside very comfortably and had excellent friendly service.

Had an awesome lunch at this characteristic pub today. All our meals were amazing, but in particular, the special of the day, beef capacchio , was delicious. Good value and staff very welcoming and attentive.

We dined as a family of four yesterday for Sunday Lunch. The service was spot on as usual. Beautiful Sunday roast's all round with plenty of seasonal veg and lashings of home made gravy. The food and service are consistently high at The Fifield Inn and I would have no hesitation in recommending.

My wife and I dined here last Saturday evening after hearing that their new summer menu had just been released. The owner, David, recommended we try the Pork Belly bites, Harissa Lamb fillet and the garlic & rosemary poussin. The pork belly bites were fantastic, slow cooked overnight for melt in the mouth quality. The harissa lamb was extremely well cooked, nice and pink with punchy, smoky flavour's of harissa coming through. The poussin had a lovely crispy skin, moist meat and lovely hit of garlic and lemon. Service was polite and friendly. Cant wait to go back !!!!

On Saturday The team presented a Spanish themed day. I must say that it was a lovely affair, very relaxing and everyone was enjoying the experience. Food was faultless and genuinely creative. Well done Team Fifield. What's next!

We visited 16th May 2023 for dinner. The warm scotch egg and pepperoni pizza I had was lovely, My husband had the chicken satay's and the spicy Lamb burger, he also said they were lovely. Good sized portions and the lady who served us was very helpful and attentive. Only downside I would say is the menu needs more main meals offered on it. We will visit again.

Pleasant pub and friendly staff. We were looking forward to Sunday lunch. Great selection of veg, including piping hot cauliflower cheese and very good roast potatoes. I chose to privately hire the Fifield Inn as the venue for my 21st birthday party & I couldn’t have picked a better place. From the very beginning Emma & the team were accommodating to all of my needs & fitting with the theme I had envisioned. She even went out of her way to fulfil my dream of having a flower wall on the night with one weeks notice. The food options were also tailored by the amazing chef Johnny to suit exactly what my family and friends wanted :)We had nothing to worry about on the night as the manager Emma & the friendly FOH staff had everything under control. Everything was done in a timely manner (decorations , welcome drinks & food). My friends & family are still raving about the food, location & friendly staff. And a massive thank you to the amazing staff Emma, Millie, Beth, Danny, Johnny & Drew for all your help on the night ! I couldn’t recommend the Fifield Inn enough, for food & drinks and especially for any private functions. A truly amazing night to mark my big milestone.

Went for a meal on friday evening with a group of about 16 people and we all ordered our meal at the same time and two of the meals came out about half an hour before the rest. We were not asked if the meals were ok or if we wanted any dressing,s etc. Later on in the evening l was served a vodka and tonic in a pint glass as they had run out of glasses, come on. There were singers singing Motown music in the garden which was very good so at least there was a positive about the evening.

This country pub is a find... the decor is modern & stylish with plenty of country charm......Had the salmon N mussels and fish N chips... both well presented, freshly cooked & tasty... staff really give the personal touch and best of all for us was it’s dog friendly... beautiful garden & outside seating/dining area...We went on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was quiet but welcoming so cannot comment on weekend/busy times but I’m sure they will still do an excellent job...

As locals we decided to give this place a try & we were very pleased that we did.Since my previous visit ( many years ago ) it was been modernised & well decorated The real ale was excellent & well kept & the house wine very good & affordable We both opted for the fish & chips , the fish was fresh in a light batter & the chips were really crispy, along with tartare sauce & mashed minted peas we couldn’t fault itAtmosphere was good & seating outside was comfy & plentiful We are so pleased we came back as we will definitely be returning

Two of us went in the pub last night about10:30 and the girl who was meant to be serving was sat outside with a cigarette and said l will just finish this and l will be in, we waited at the bar for a few minutes, l then had to go outside to ask if she was serving upon which she did come in to serve us. After a while my husband went up to the bar to get another beer and waited a few minutes and in the end had to go outside and asked to be served to which the girl replied do you mind if l finish this putting to her cigarette, to which he replied don’t bother. I know she told us she was on her own and had been there all day but l am sorry there was only about six people at the pub so she wasn’t busy and l do not think this is the way to get business. As a local l want to see the pub survive and do well.

Found this little gem when in Windsor recently and was very pleased with its charm and position. We had a cheese board to share followed by Eton mess and drinks followed by coffee. Plenty of outside seating which was perfect. Really nice pub/restaurant. Staff were very polite and attentive and were often asking if we needed anything. Great time here.

I visited the pub today with my son. Certainly not the first time I’ve been here, but I felt that the level of service and standard of food I had today were so good that they deserve a mention. I had the beef roast, my son was delighted to see that the beef burger was back on the menu. The portion sizes are good to generous. The beef was cooked exactly the way I like it, with hints of pink evident. The veg were cooked well, still had a decent crunch and were flavourful. We shared an Eton Mess, which was delicious and just the right size (certainly for me) after my generous roast. The food has really improved and if it continues at this level, I’ll certainly be choosing to have lunch here on a more regular basis. The pub was reasonably busy, but service was spot on. Difficult to find fault.

We had a lovely time here yesterday night, from the moment we entered Caroline made us feel very welcome, it was a lovely warm evening and she offered us a table outsideand made sure we were comfortable where we were seated. Selection of gins were really nice specially liked the strawberry gin, our food was just delicious, absolutely lovely staff working that were attentive and kept us topped up with drinks even though it was quite a busy evening. Caroline was lovely to talk to and brought some extra fun to our night. All the staff were fantastic, pleasant and professional , we will definitely be back again.

We stopped at the Fifield whilst travelling through. It was a real find. The menu is good. There is a good range of items and the price is very reasonable. Our food was delicious and the staff were brilliant. They were very helpful and professional
