Fillets Fish & Chips Worthing in Worthing

Hello, we visited my in-laws on 22nd and ordered some food to make things easier for us. I emailed you on your website but received no response. Poor customer service. We placed the order below and we wanted to give you some feedback. Bearing in mind we spent nearly £50 with you on this order, it will most likely be our first and last order we place with you. 1. We had two items missing ( 2x gherkins) and was given a bottle of drink instead that we didn’t ask for. 2. The spiced bean burger wasn’t, it was two smelly ( smelled off) fish cakes in a bun that couldn’t even be eaten , these went straight in the bin. My partner is allergic to fish , and this is what we were given, without explanation. 3. The chips on all orders were greasy , soggy, and cold. No salt and vinegar supplied as requested either. 4. The chicken burger supplied was cold and hard/ dry, wasn’t fresh at all. All in all this was the worse take away experience we have ever had, when your spending £50 on a take away, you expect a certain quality of food, and what was supplied was really really poor. I am emailing you giving you the chance to put things right, either by a free order to try again , or a refund on what was given. If you cannot do something then a full detailed review will be left on google so the public can see it. Wouldn’t usually do this, but what was supplied was so poor.

Saveloy awful and dropped to floor. Pie cold and very standard. Chips dry and void of Salt and Vinegar. Christ it’s not hard to cook this crap. First time and last time.

Incredible taste, incredible owner and incredible speed. Best fish and chip shop I've ever been too. The portions are generous and you are treated like a friend, my go-to fish and chip spot from here on out. Don't hesitate, just get the food!

I ordered this evening the chips, battered sausage, battered cod was lovely but unfortunately my chicken and mushroom pie was awful it was not crunchy it was soggy and it was cold.

Stay away from this shop! Delivery was awful it took them 1h 20 mins on a Tuesday. I called and I kept getting fed lies. I ended with really grumpy angry children. Stressfully! Very disappointing.

i missed food from my order but everything else was okay it was lukewarm just disappointed as i spent £40 and they missed some of my order

Very early then wanted and Chips were a little on the crispy side. Fish had a slight bone in but other than that very nice!

First time here and I've heard lots of good thing about Fillets. WOW the fish cooked to perfection the batter was thin but crispy absolutely gorgeous. Chips were piping hot. Would highly recommend,probably one of the best fish n chips shops around.

First time I went the chips were bottom of the barrel and under cooked and the b/sausage was hours old. Gave them another chance and the chips were the same, under cooked and none bigger than an inch (do you use baby potatoes in your chipper?). They also don't know how to make a burger. CHEESE GOES ON THE PATTY! What cook doesn't know that? Award winning? Is that a joke?

Would leave 0 stars if I could, it taste like absolutely everything has been microwaved, the batter taste raw and chewy, savaloy tastes and has the same texture as cardboard only thing nice was the curry sauce literally threw it in the bin wasn’t even worth the hassle of calling back up I doubt we would of gotten sent anything fresher..

Food was great! The only thing I’d say could be better is batter on the halloumi sticks could’ve done with being a bit crispier

Food arrived on time. However, chicken was dry, sausage was burnt and the chips were awful, more like crisps than chips! called up to let them know they sent out some more chips and they were just the same, over half the chips not edible! Won't be ordering from here again, such a shame!

Restaurant claimed they hadn't received order, stating I had ordered from the wrong restaurant via Deliveroo - despite having order number & paid. An hour later, no food, Deliveroo attempting to reach them - received a call back to say they had indeed received the order and attempted to charge me again. Poor customer service, wouldn't order from them again.

Burger was very standard for a “chicken tower burger”. Onion ring in it was overcooked, not worth the money. Chips were also cold and not very appetising

We ordered one large portion of chips and it was delayed by over an hour for what was all in all a not very worth it portion.

Scampi is soggy, halloumi is caked in oil, chips have a weird taste, delivery was late

Well I would say this little place is…….. well I’d say fillets is wonderful My nephews thoroughly enjoyed their portions although the youngest of the two was overly eager and bit the inside of his cheek. Suffice to say the food must have been nice for him We endeavour to return

Fish seems to be cooked fresh to order. Very tasty and fish goujons are the biggest I’ve seen in any chippy! Chips were nice too, not too oily but shame we weren’t asked if we wanted salt and vinegar which made them very bland.

Food was beautiful, exactly as ordered. And turned up when they said it would. Perfect in fact.

We have tried many fish & chip shops in Worthing but, having found Fillets, we don’t go anywhere else. The food is consistently and the service is speedy and reliable. Highly recommended!

I made a mistake and ordered from (Fillets) the wrong restaurant which was 4 miles away from home. However, my mistake was a blessing in disguise. The fish & chips were wonderful, the best I have tasted. Highly recommended.

I visited in March 2023. I ordered a sausage in batter with chips and opened. I was asked if I wanted Salt n Vinegar, I said please, but let me do it, as I know exactly how much I want. This then became an issue. I don’t know if it was the owner, at first I didn’t understand what the issue was, until he said “I don’t know where you have been” so this was a germ 🦠 maybe COVID 19 issue. The UK at the time was no longer under emergency legislation regarding C19. If the owners or staff were that concerned, then why not have alcohol free hand wash to hand. I thought customer was king. Thankfully plenty more other places to eat at where my custom will be valued.

Can never fault this restaurant, I have had 4 or maybe even 5 deliveries for .my elderly mother and me. The fish and chips have always been hot ,the batter is never all thick and doughy but a lovely thin batter beautiful white fish. Lovely place can highly recommend.

Fillets used to be the chippy we'd go too and thought we'd treat ourselves for takeaway. However most the chips were abit over cooked and thin and one of the meals was missing the battered sausage.

Mushy peas were, as someone else has reviewed, green water! Chips luke warm and soggy. Both went straight in the bin. The fish was OK but considering they are one of the most expensive chippys around it was tiny. In fact, considering their prices (not cheap) it was disgusting.

VERY GOOD FOOD. Definitely recommend. The staff is very welcoming and nice. They let you take your time. The fish is fresh and they always make sure to ask if I want salt and vinegar every time I go. Their seating outside is very nice and comforting. Overall great chippy shop. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Absolute garbage , scampi half of it was burnt half undercooked so obviously refried some from this afternoon or even yesterday . Chips stone cold , fish soggy batter and tasteless , sausage cold with batter like paper and the fish cake was nothing but disgusting. Mushy peas was literally green water and the curry sauce so thick u couldn’t even dunk a chip in it !!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE TO ANYONE .

Chips served in burger boxes so fall out..not even fish and chip shop style chips. Food okay but if you want actual fish and chip shop Food this isn't the place.

There are so few fish shops that do plaice, which is my favourite. This one was much larger than anticipated. Excellent taste, well wrapped, and delivered efficiently at a fair price.

First impressions of this chip shop was awful! Everything was soggy! It tastes vile and my kids tried one bit and said it was horrible and they love fish and chips! I rarely get take out aswell so this was there treat! I will not be going there again!
