Always spot on and staff always happy.

This is my family's favourite fish and chips shop. The food is piping hot and plentiful.We love the dinner special in a box as I said you get plentiful and taste delicious 😋

Not very often do we order fish and chips. So after looking on Google came across fisherman's catch. I always think takeaways are alway just Luke warm when they arrive. But this wasn't! It was piping hot. And the fish was absolutely delicious. Will defiantly be ordering again from you . Also was delivered 10mins before the time slot . Welldone fisherman's catch .

Most of the time food is cooked to my liking but occasionally it is a little greasy whilst I like it crispy and no grease.

Charging separate for chips not selling as a combo is nothing but greedy

Spent £28 here last week and most of it went in the bin the Haddock and the cod was one step up from being rotten,it's along while since we had fish that bad.chips were all covered in black bits like they were fried in dirty fat.Sorry but won't be using this chippy again.its a shame because I've had some good meals here in the past ,but it's really gone down hill

As always, I find such places by accident. Fish and chips very tasty. I can recommend it.

Portion sizes ridiculously small for what you pay, £7/8 for a cod the size of a battered sausage. Tastes like it's straight from the freezer. Very thick sauces more like a paste

Any one else noticed when you order online and add drinks to your order they will always take the money for the drinks but always forget to fetch it!!! Way of scamming your money!

its was nasty chips was all the little bits and hard the spam was overcooked and dry curry and peas was sub i am sure there are easier ways to go bankrupt stay away if you want good food not as bad as shauns but heading that way food was covered in little black burnt bits i have no idea where they came from in a chippy people saying small portions you will be glad to no foods just gone up in price

We've always used this chippy but recently the portions have been reduced dramatically. It is no longer worth the money they are charging. When ordering a chip butty you are lucky to have enough chips to fill your bread bun with the new portion sizes

I ordered Cod & Chops. The Chips & the batter on the Cod Were Greasy as the Paper. A consequence of frying with over-used frying oil is the more degraded it is, the higher the absorption of oil by the food. Making it soggy/greasy food

3 times in a row now ordering from her to having my order wrong getting sick and tired of it now not the same staff taking my order each time evither

The best chippy I've ever used.. food is delicious staff are amazing and I've used this chip shop for over 10years me and my mom , dad and kids all love this chip shop!

Unfortunately after we ordered and paid, including a vegetarian burger, we only found out that everything including the veggie burger is cooked in beef dripping 😲. No signage or warning. Unbelievable

Best fish and chips in ashby...

This is the second time we tried them. The food tasted nice but the portion sizes are very small. We used to go to Messingham chippy, and the portion sizes are much bigger than fisherman's catch. Even the fish was bigger from Messingham. We ordered burgers for the kids, and they were cold, didn't even melt the cheese. We had to reheat rhem at home. I would not recommend them. And would not go back again.

Bought sausage and chips twice which ended in the bin . They were discusting coverd it bits as they never change the oil . They looked foul never again whatch what you buy

Food was terrible, tiny portion sizes and freezing cold. Fish cake was like chewing into leather. Food was so bad my 1 year old that loves fish spat it out.

Great fish and chips, perfectly cooked with more than adequate portions, one of the best chip shops in Scunthorpe.

Nice fish and chips but bit pricey!

I have just been robbed at fisherman's catch, I bought two haddock and one chips and was charged £15.70. The fish was all batter and soggy as if it had been cooked long ago and the chip were cold. Most expensive bird food I have ever bought. Avoid.

Nice and tasty, but not much of a portion compared to other local chippies. Pie was microwaved so it made it all soft and soggy. College had sausage special with Chinese curry which he enjoyed. Overall it was OK.

Used fisherman's catch many times.. however.. tonight means we will not be returning! Poor service, with a very snappy and aggressive lady dishing up. Got the food home, 5 minute drive, chips stone cold, burger dry and curry sauce freezing. I will not be returning!!

Great service ordered fresh and got food within 15 mins thankyou grateful also for having 2 young children along for the visit also. They didn't go a-wol 👌

Diabolical! And its not the first time either!! I should have learned my lesson from previous visits! Never again! Where do i start!? When i walked in there were very little to choose from and this was Saturday afternoon, there were 2 fish that looked quiet appetising, the fish was like a fish finger that i was served and wasn't any of the 2 that was on display. The battered sausage was rock hard and barely edible and ended up in the bin! The chips was also ropey

Small fish, even larger ones are small. Only small amount pre cooked, you will have to wait. They close too early, ,, 9pm

I went for my two kids, one just had a bag of chips which were still reasonably priced at £2.40 for regular & £3 for large. My youngest wanted a chicken nugget kids meal which came with a drink & a colouri g book at £3.40 & a £1 for curry sauce. I spent a total of £7.40 which I thought was good value at the minute. Prices have changed regular chips are now £2.50 & large £3.30, sauces have changed to £1.10 still better value that some others.

Called in for fish and chips . Took me 4.6 minutes to be served, haddock and chips. Little bit greasy but very nice. Lady behind counter very polite and friendly

First time here well impressed, very clean as the eye can see, staff very polite and friendly. Waited a few minutes for fish to cook was not disappointed. Parking a little awkward but not out of the way.

Rude staff & slag you off because they don't hear you properly

Despite being very busy tonight, the staff were all very friendly and quickly dealt with the long queue. Fish was all cooked fresh and the chip portion was good. No silly polystyrene trays either. Well worth a visit!!

Best fish and chip shop in Scunthorpe

Very disappointed, gone down hill since the last time I went but the price has gone up instead. Gravy was like water and the battered sausage had a dusting of batter on, you had to look closely to see the batter. Won't be going back any time soon

Just literally been to get fish and chips from fishermans catch in Ashby. OMG, they are cold, just a 2 min drive home, how can food be cold so quick. Not good.

WOW.... i went in today after people said to me they are best in ashby and wow proper chippy chips and love the big battered sausages as most places the batter is either to hard or to soft these was so perfect

Chips were horrible, chewy and a lot of bruised potato. Also the middle aged lady with the pink hair and glasses was very rude.

Used to be good, I went in on a Friday should be there busiest time minamal food was prepared the kebab machine was only just turned on and there was a 1hour and 45 minute wait walked back out again and went to a different takeaway.

Simply beautiful. Best place in all of Scunthorpe.

Excellent service and great food

Just collected fish and chips from here, hot it home and while the chips are nice the same cannot be said for the fish. Its stale and has that old fishy taste that you get when fish is not fresh. Definitely not impressed will stick to my usual chippy butty from here.

I didnt mind waiting for chips to be cooked or the phone order person collecting before me but to see others (4) walk in and be served as I waited was to much..never again will me and my family use this chip shop..

Definitely gone downhill. Chips were gritty like they hadn't been cleaned properly and the fish tasted so strong God knows how old it was. If I lived closer I would have taken it back.

Went here last night hoping for a lovely fulfilling tea. Instead I got chips that must have been hours old and two home made steak pies that were like jelly inside. The lot went in the bin, I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. Bad staffing, bad food. Definitely would not recommend.

Our chippy of choice in Scunny and not even the closest. Staff always seem happy even when you can see they're rushed off their feet. Food tastes delish too :P

Was so pleased that Fisherma s catch was open on Easter Sunday...The service was 5* the food the same will be coming back that's for sure friendly helpful staff food is not greasy like other chip shops enjoyed by all well done...

Wouldn’t leave any stars but couldn’t leave a review otherwise.. We ordered was told 1.5hr wait yeah that’s fine, 2 hours later (which again is fine) but only got half the order. Ring up told will send the rest out as soon as driver gets back.. 40mins later and still waiting ..JOKE

Took nearly 2 hours to be delivered then when it got here it was cold and greasy will not be going back which is a shame

Has been ok till now. Delivered meal took over an hour to come, and was luke warm. Sadly, will be last time for us ordering from here.

Normally, up till now, I have had a good meal from this chippy, but today I was shocked at the service. A young lad served me, and I asked for a jumbo battered sausage, he looked at the dried up stuff under the lights, and said.. "we dont have any" no apology, just a blunt response... He then said he could put one in, but I refused as I was short on time. So, I asked him for two small battered sausages instead, and asked him "its the same price, right?" To which he nodded at me and said "yeah" ... But never said sir. Okay, so I said I would have those... So he asked me if I want it open or closed, and I said open. Anyways, he places them in a try, with a plastic fork, and puts them in front of me, and then goes on to say its £2... (when a jumbo is basically the same size as 2 small ones, and is also 60p cheaper... Which I don't get why this is) To which I said, "is that right?" He then looked bewildered at me, and calls to the woman beside him, who I assume was his supervisor, to discuss the issue. She says, "well, its two sausages isnt it?" and then she carries on doing whatever it is she was doing. So in the end, I only paid for one, and he took the other back...again, no apology for false information from either him or her, so I would suggest that they have a course on customer service. This experience has put me off going there to be honest.

In the past I have rated this chipshop a 5 , today I was very disappointed on delivery of my order. As usual the service was A1, but the food was well below what I have had before. The fish was overcooked to the point of being dark brown and dry, the chips were also not as soft and moist as usual. I have rang the shop to tell them. Basically we could not eat most of the meal.

Good fish and chip shop , they taste great and you get plenty fish and chips, so i cant complain.

One of the best chippies in Ashby,a close second to Carvers,more reasonably priced as well,well worth a visit.
