Friary Mill Bakery, Cornwall Street in Plymouth

Disgraceful, never again. Been eating and drinking there for years. Took family there for an evening meal. Having spent over £200 pounds, at 9:15 we were told they weren't serving any more drinks, as they were closing and we had to leave. No apology and the member of staff walked away while we were speaking to her. This was entirely unprovoked, we had been quiet and polite all evening. It was purely because it had gone quiet, and most customers had left, not surprising if that's how they treat people.

There are now two eat in coffee and snack shops in this terrace, both doing well but to the extent that at peak times they can be full. That and the pressure on parking places means that you can be stuck and hungry but that’s where Friary kicks in because they do still have a good range pasties etc, sticky buns slices and all the rest. No wonder there is often a queue.

I recently visited westherspoons and I was blown away by the fantastic service from Lenn. She was incredibly helpful when I needed assistance with my drink and really went the extra mile to make sure everything was just right, she hadn’t even started her shift yet ! It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated and genuinely helpful. A huge thank you to Lenn for making my experience so enjoyable.
